    Only 8 members in our club, and everyone has their known schedule. No wait, just go ski, leave - its GREAT! The reason it is under used, is that there are not that many dedicated buoy chasers left. It takes TOW to get to a decent level, and most cannot or will not dedicate that time. When I talk with people at work about what I do, most if not all have NO IDEA what slalom skiing in a course is. More interesting poll would be to ask the General Public if they know what a slalom water ski course is?

    @horton basically you are describing a dying sport. Cost of new boats are not high because there is some new fangled material or technology, it is because they don't sell any. The big 3 know exactly how many they will move any particular year divided by costs + profits = bingo (high costs). Same applies for skis, equipment, etc. I agree we are privileged to do it, but wouldn't use the phrase “my lifestyle is better than most”. Sound elitist to me, and frankly quite subjective.

    @horton I should want to waterski to meet rich people?? wtf? Just because I waterski I live better than most?? Better how? What is better? I do not subscribe to this idea, that is not why I do it. It is not some kind of marketing competition for me.

    Once the insurance auction happens, my guess would be you will see that boat magically rematerialize...I really dont think there is a huge market for complete 200 interiors... A quick wet sand and buff, and that hull would look new. Just speculating....

    Anyone out there actually prefer the REVO over the XTR? It seem that many of the big dawg skiers are on the REVO, but Ragina still skis the XTR...

    @Ewojer nothing wrong with the Calabria. The interior vinyl is not quite up to the big 3 in quality level, but does the job. Wake will be firm, but with prop trial and error and adjustment of the wake plate, you can get it pretty decent (but firm). My 1998 had the fuel injection on the mercruiser not the carb version. One thing that you may be interested in (for the family-storage aspect) is that that 02 Calabria probably has the rear trunk storage - something that the Response or the 205 will not have.

    The Calabria is all fiberglass, they switched from wood to fiberglass in ‘93 or ‘94, when it was still Brendella. I used to have a 1998 Calabria Pro Comp that I purchased new, and it was all glass.
