  1. Stopped by on our way to pick up some dock supplies. Would have liked to eat there but the wait was more than we could do. Hostess said over an hour is common for a Sat so the must be killing it. I can see how the bay would work as a ski tournament site. Wally wakes could be an issue and perhaps wind. Took some pics to share. Some are the same but better. Well worth going. Even if a bit out of your way.
  2. @RAWSki our lake is low now. We normally have water almost to the end of the dock closest to the house. So what you do for that situation is jet a hole in the ground with with a long 1.5” pipe using a centrifugal water pump (trash pump) and you jet the poles in. They are 3-4’ below ground sitting on hard pan (soil that’s very hard to even jet through). Each post has a cleat along the bottom edge to prevent the post from heaving up during flood stage and wave action slamming up the decking. So basically I made it so it will NEVER happen again LOL. Our cranes have been with us for 25yrs. One has a scare on its leg so we know it’s been the same pare all along. They have had multiple babies over the years and we can hand feed the adults.
  3. Well, it’s been a long haul but we have a useable dock again. Still needs some top boards changed out but it’s usable and a whole lot stronger with double the number of posts. Lots of work done on the boat house as well but didn’t get any before pics other than it being 2 feet under water. Happy to be spending more of my time skiing and less time building finally.
  4. @mmosley899correct but I’ve used this stuff for more then a decade and have had no UV deterioration issues or discoloring. I can’t imaging 1/2” wouldn’t do the trick. And whatever is left over on one sheet, you could double it in key arias. Then just pad the edges for the ski. Just tossing out ideas for skiers on a budget 👍
  5. So Sams Cub sells huge white cutting boards basically made of StarBoard or high-density polyethylene. Big enough to make those brackets and way cheaper than a sheet of Starboard. Easy to work with common woodworking tools. Great for other small marine projects. https://www.samsclub.com/p/bakers-chefs-commercial-cutting-board-15-x-20/126035?xid=plp_product_4
  6. Another good project boat. Maybe a repower. Great wakes. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/231207139283379/
  7. Does seem like a bargain but the name is …..🤔
  8. Rare boat. Not many made and not a lot out there used. Is to its OB..maybe out on the lake sitting still the little ones could hang out there to give the adults some room to stretch out but beyond that, not much use.

    Knee help

Ok so the more I looked into knees over toes guy (KOT Guy) the more I feel he’s really onto something. So my left knee has always been bad my entire life. Age has only complicated that and I’ve grown to accept it. Right knee was great till the accident. So this KOT stuff was supposed to be for my right knee but now the left one feels great. I’m baffled. I really have not done as much as I should be but the results are stunning. I did add stationary bike and concentrated on pulling up vs peddling down as suggested above. In looking at the mechanics of that, it falls directly in line with KOT. I also added VooDoo Flossing as suggested by Adam Cord. How that works I have no idea. Lots of trainers have their individual perspectives but no one seems to really know. But that worked as well. So bottom line…ZERO knee pain ..both knees. Getting up out of a chair there’s been that ache in the past. All gone. Still more work to do as the right knee needs more ROM ability in a full bend but I gotta say, no knee pain ( no more meds) has been a surprise. I’m adding sled work the KOT guy promotes and continue with his program with stationary bike added. So THANK YOU to those that suggested KOT Guy and VooDoo Flossing. Edit; and I really do not see any surgery happening considering these results so far. Bonus!!
  10. Certainly designed for private lakes and nothing but 3 event. So dipping the nose is prob not gonna happen. Seats are interesting.
  11. If this is a hobby, Arturo took it up a notch and then some. Ski club/school dream boat.
  12. If you think there should be a federal ban on jet skis… If your ski budget exceeds your household food and everything else budget…. If you owned a ski boat before you owned a vehicle strong enough to pull it…. If you have a box full of bindings and fins cause throwing them out seems wrong…. If you have a rack of old skis..same reason… If you own a two car garage and both cars remain outside in the elements… If you pretend to be at the office… If your trucks only purpose in life is to put a boat in and take it back out… If your dock is the second most expensive structure on your property… If you consider yourself the luckiest man on earth cause your wife drives you through the slalom course… If you feel you’ve died and gone to heaven cause she drives …AND skis… If you own more then one pair of calipers… If your first thought upon seeing a lake is deciding if you think a course may or may not fit… If you’ve measured those lakes on Google earth to see if you’re right... If your response to the doctor telling you ..do not walk on your sprained ankle is to ask.. “but can I go ahead and ski on it”?… If your vacation planing involves finding both a place to ski and things for your wife to do… If you scheduled your wedding in the winter months and told her it’s because you find snow beautiful… If you have a melt down picking up that gas can you thought was full… If you restrain from screaming at a newby that steps on your boat seat like it’s a stepping stool... If it pains you to use gas pulling tubes… If your Christmas, Father’s (mothers) Day and birthday lists consist only of ski gear or a gas cards… If you get disgusted when you tell someone you water ski and they ask if you do those pyramids things or can barefoot… If you delay your wife’s epidural during a painful delivery cause you got chatty with the anesthesiologist who happened to be a skier. (yep, I did that)…. If you don’t think twice about boasting loudly to your ski buddy that he “had the best looking 2 ball of the day” and you have yet to exit the store... If you fist pump when you hear the weather man utter the words “sunny and calm” for the next days forecast… If you have that new ski shipped to your office or buddies house to avoid conflict... If you think she doesn’t know you bought a new ski… If a 2 hour drive is nothing when it comes to that 17 second thrill ride... If all of the T-shirts you own have something to do with waterskiing... If you think it’s worth a speeding ticket to make it to the lake before dusk... If you feel Daylight savings is the work of the devil... If the only two seasons in your life are ski season and waiting for ski season… If you own a website dedicated to the sport of waterskiing as primary source of income…

  16. Ski Beach in Leesburg FL. 256 skis on display.
  17. Maybe it’s in another thread but what happened to Handsome Robs face.? 🤕 Looks like that hurt.
  18. They have to legitimize the need for $300k boats somehow. I couldn’t watch 10mn of that without falling asleep 😴
  19. I keep seeing Connelly ads where they are welcoming a young skier to the “Team”. Are they sponsoring these athletes (even if it’s just gear)? If so, hats off to them for setting a great example of how to grow the sport by encouraging the next generation to work hard and be rewarded with more then just rankings.
  20. I seasoned race care driver, skier, and waterski industry professional basically said you need to “look where you want to be” to sum it up. Everything slows down when you do. No diff then driving your family car around the corner. If turning, your eyes will look well past the turn and the focus is where you want the car to be. Same in a straight line or curve. I ski best when my eyes find the next ball out in front of the boat. Just got done skiing and was working on this. Long ago a tried a baseball cap and pulled it down low. Forces the head up to keep the eyes at least as high if not higher then the horizon.
