  1. We just got them in....so glad to see they have listened to skiers...you'll be able to see the loop colors WAY easier!! https://perfski.com/gen-2-optimized-slide-loop-mainline-11-section-water-ski-slalom-rope-dlx-9-25m.html
  2. heres a link to our CGA Vests. https://www.perfski.com/life-vests-and-wetsuits/coast-guard-approved-vests/coast-guard-approved-vests We also just got in a bunch of vests from Liquid Force. I know...why would a waterskier consider a vest from a wake company? Mainly because of the fit / color...they are worth a look now. If you email us at sales@perfski.com or call us ...we will work directly to help find a vest you will like. Talk to Mike if you call during normal business hours during the week.
  3. @foxriverat they added the 65" this year in the Pro. We have those in stock and people are loving the udpated Senate shape. We also have the 2020 Lithium Senates in 65" in stock. We expect Graphites and Alloys in the next couple days. We do not have an 65" Senates in any model from 2019 as they sold through with that size being a lower production size.
  4. Tom and June have done a great job with all their new vests. For years the EVO vest was all we sold, but with with new updates to the Nitro, and new colorways like Blue Steel and their Floral print....now you have a range of vests that fit great and offer unique looks and style. I echo all the positive feedback above!
  5. Thanks everyone for the kind words here. As a business, we are trying to adjust to what I call the "amazon effect". Consumers are being conditioned to look for the cheapest price, and free 2 day shipping as the "norm". Product knowledge, customer service, and actually being able to talk to someone who has used the product becomes less and less of a priority for the masses of consumers. Obviously the community here is a bit different and for that we are grateful...as our ability to support the sport, and sites like this only happens from the support of the people who shop with us. But you are the exception. The internet and "anybody with a website's" ability to display and sell product has clouded the retail landscape. Add to this manufacturers allowing online vendors to list closeout items on amazon without ever having to buy them....while stores like ours who HAVE bought them are trying to just recover the money we have in them...well it is NOT a healthy landscape for specialty stores. Add to this EVERY surfwear, and most wetsuit companies selling direct to consumer...and only promoting their own websites vs trying to send consumers to shops that invest in their brands.... well its ugly for us as retailers. Many of these companies are corporations that publicly traded...and all they care about is the bottom line and profits. As such, direct to consumers sales where they make more money are their sole focus. I love watersports....and my passion to help people improve the quality of the time on the water is what drives me to work harder now than I ever have....but I can tell you that specialty stores like ours need your support. If you have shops in your area that support waterskiing, offer great customer service....support them. Beware of the online stores who don't stock the product they sell or support grassroots waterskiing...as they really don't care for the sport...only taking your money. These are the same guys that mocked waterskiing for years as being lame....but now.....sell the products on amazon without stocking the items they are selling...and the manufacturers are supporting them. Sorry for the rant...but let me finish as I started.....Thank you again for the kind words here. We will continue to strive to work to earn your business and your trust. And unlike Amazon...we DO pick up the phone and will talk to you. We love water skiing...and want you to love the gear you buy from us. Bill
  6. @Ed_Johnson I asked Rossi & Brooks this exact question on sizing...he said no change in how you size the ski....
  7. @Luv2Ski saw your post ......its a great event...but the Florida humidity is crazy. Keep Hydrated and get stuff done you want to do by 2...as the afternoon showers roll in. Good news on stickers...shipped yesterday...rolling in Saturday..so hit me up. Thanks also to everyone for your ideas here. Hopefully will have most of you covered. Biggest thing for me personally is getting to connect personally with you. Without Nationals in Florida, its easy to loose touch....but after 30 years of this....Its fun seeing the "generations" of families at Nationals! Also excited to have our newest staff member back with us at Nationals with me this year Mike! So drop by and see us both at the booth....and look for 2020 Radar skis & gear, Lots of vests, Camaro, Stokes, Gloves, new perfski apparel, kids stuff, womens stuff and lots more!
  8. @ReggieO 65" skis are happening...we are expecting our Nationals order with them today!
  9. I have some XS rear Boots left if you need smalls or XS's...but going to be very hard to find these. We hope to have some Animal Overlays in August as an option...
  10. Hey Ballers, WIth Nationals coming up in a couple weeks, we are prepping for our first one in a long time. While we will be there working with Radar and introducing their new 2020 skis and gear, we also try to bring a bunch of things skiers look for and want to see in person while at Nationals. So my question to you who are going.... what are you looking for? What would you like for us to have on hand? Vests, Closeout Skis, Wetsuits, shorts, parts, Wileys, Ski Doc, Camaro, Stokes, Perfski gear, hats, etc... Trying to be smart about what we bring and also bring gear you will be looking for. Thanks in advance. Bill @ Performance Ski and Surf!
  11. Update on LIthium Senates...the 65" is sold out for the year...no more will be available till the 2020's arrive.
  12. Hey All, Have looked at the most recent Available To Sell Report from Radar...currently no 65" Lithiums in first or demo. I'm going to ask the "gate keepers" to see if they might have access / visibility of any coming in. Can update the thread here or message me and I'll connect directly.
  13. @SkiJay when should we see a new fin block to go with it?
  14. If you are looking for extra warmth in the camaro...consider adding the baselayer john to it. Got this tip from the owner of Camaro..works under other wetsuits too. Here is video on it https://www.perfski.com/camaro-titanium-shorty-base-layer.html
  15. Dave, what do I say other than Thank you....I'm glad the parts worked out...and you were able to get your boots dialed in...but to get such kind words on top of it...its humbling. Please know your support of small family owned business like ours means a great deal. As a business we are trying to adjust to the "amazon effect" in retail....where customer service isn't a priority as much as the cheapest price. My hope is that specialty business' like our pro shops can find ways to survive in today's retail landscape. That said, again my thanks to you Dave and all the BOS spray community for the support through the years. We love waterskiing, and being a part of this sport. I will say it again...your support has real and direct impact on the lives of the people who work for us...and for that...I am truly grateful and will work to hold up our end of the bargain. We may not always be the cheapest deal out there but know we will always try to support and stand behind what we sell..and work to improve the quality of your time on the water by what we do! Thats our goal...mission statement. Bill
  16. Hey Everyone, We just received some of Masterline's new Optimized Slide Loop Mainlines. I really didn't have much info on them..but got off the phone with Randy Shoener...and wanted to share with you a summary of what he told me. Please note these are my words interpreted from our conversation. I'm sure they will put out a much more detailed and technical summary of the new rope / whats different and what you will expect as a skier...but my hope is to help give you a little insight into what I learned from him this morning. We have these in stock if you want any also. https://www.perfski.com/ski/ropes-and-handles/slalom-ropes/masterline-optimized-slide-loop-11-section-mainline.html December 21, 2018: We reached out to Randy Shoener at Masterline to give us insight on their new Optimized Slide Loop Mainline. Here is a summary of what we learned. Tournament skiers ski different…the load they put on the line….demands put on their rope can vary greatly depending on their skiing style, technique and urgency at any point in the slalom course. Masterline reached out to their team skiers to put the load numbers on paper…assess the needs of skiers of all levels and skiing styles to build an ALL NEW rope that is optimized to meet the demands that most skiers put on the rope. In discussion with skiers and coaches all over the world….they heard complaints that ski ropes were too hard, or too soft….and finding an optimal flex / stretch in a rope was their goal. Masterline started experimenting with the worlds elite skiers in all divisions. A super technical and efficient skier like Nate Smith simply doesn’t put the demands and load on the rope as someone with a ultra aggressive - slashing style of skiing. If a skier gets into trouble….the demands on your rope changes….there are a myriad of different scenarios here….but Masterline took this data, load numbers and used computer modeling to come up with the optimal flex and stretch to best suit the overall group of tournament skiers as a whole. The computer modeled the load data on all the skiers to find a perfect flex number for the average tournament skier. Not too stiff….not too soft…..so that a skier can get the most acceleration out of the rope while limiting recoil yet still having the stiffness to optimize skier performance. So what are you going to feel?…what will this rope do different? In talking with Masterline’s R & D team….skiers will find the rope MUCH more forgiving at the buoy…and it will allow them to finish the turn, hold more edge effectively on the back side fo the buoy….vs pulling them off edge like some of the current ropes do. Bottom line..the rope works better….the Active Rope Technology helps the reduce skier fatigue, minimize mistakes and overall just to ski better irregardless of the demands put on the rope. Made with Masterline’s proven Poly Pro Max…..but optimized in the polymers used to make the rope and stretch / rebound characteristics….this rope is the new standard for what ski ropes can be.
  17. Wow....all I can say is thank you for the kind words. We are trying to adjust to the new age world of retail...and part of the reason I even comment on this is to let you know the real world impact you make on lives of people passionate about the sport. The manufacturers are like everyone else...they want to find ways to make their business' more profitable..which I understand..however loosing sight of the concept of driving consumers to stores to buy their product vs selling direct...buying from online only stores does not bode well for specialty shops like mine. Every surfwear, wetsuit (except Camaro), eyeware, and sandal companies we have sold for decades are selling direct, and discounting. They see the extra margins they can make as a larger priority than supporting a retail network. I've spoken to the top people in more companies than I care list here...and all still say that "brick and mortar" is important to their business model...but NONE...repeat NONE back it up with any marketing to drive people to stores like ours, or up to date dealer locators. I posed the following questions to the major companies and their managers: 1: Is Brick and mortar stores / pro shops important to your business: All say yes. (some say up to 85% or more of their business) 2: Is the end goal of your marketing to help customers purchase your product? All say yes for sure. 3: Is your website the hub of all your advertising, done in all forms. All say yes. 4: Do you believe in / thinking helping consumers help find your products easily will improve sales and is important. All say yes. So after all my questions to them, I go back and summarize their answers back to them Yes, brick and mortar is a key component of your business..... Check. Connecting consumers is your goal of marketing and is focused around your factory website....check. Do you believe that connecting consumers with places they can buy your product is important....Yes for sure. So why then do you not have up to date dealer locators by each product you sell with up to date listings of all dealers who have bought your product.... "crickets".... And Why in all of your marketing to promote your product....do you have utilize tools to help consumers easily find dealers that stock your products? One that is maintained and updated on a regular basis. "Crickets".... The reality is either the person running their factory website is on commission based on sales OR the factories themselves prefer to focus on the larger margins to reach their corporate margin/sales goals... Other than that there are excuses galore from we can't afford a new website, we can't update our dealer locator....we are working on it...etc..etc..etc.. Before I quit...I do want to make it clear that some of the top ski and wake companies are STILL not selling direct..which is a blessing...however, as I mentioned in my first post, they feel the amazon effect...and they are moving to dump their older product on amazon. Which I understand them needing to get rid of older stock...however I do not understand them supporting dealers who are not truly vested in growing the sport, not having to buy the product up front to sell it. Sorry for the rant...obviously this is touchy issue for us. We are fighting to stay alive in the retail world now...and still hope their is a place for shops like ours in it. Thanks to all who support our business. It does make a difference. Also thanks to brands like Camaro that do not sell direct...and are trying to support dealer networks here within the states. Bill
  18. Thanks @BlueSki & @lpskier for your kind works. Not sure @oldjeep if you were referring to us... if so here is the link. https://www.perfski.com/snow We are restricted from most companies listing current season product online as we aren't "big enough" or don't "buy enough"...but do have some great gear / closeout stuff.... @Horton , as a retailer, we struggle with the "Amazon" effect. We all use it...and its changing the retail world around us to base sales only on the "cheapest price" irregardless of service and heaven forbid you want to communicate with a earthly being to ask questions on a product. And my vendors have started to embrace it also even in the high end waterski world. There is a popular watersports website that used to tout their business motto as "no skis, no tubes, no bullshit" that now is basically the storefront for most of the vendors closeouts for the biggest water skicompanies on amazon. They are not stocking this product but listing it and having it drop shipped directly from the factory. No fin setup. Limited real world knowledge on skiing or committment to supporting the sport / growing it from the grass roots level. Yet because they have the technical capability to help ski companies list and dump their product, they basically now are selling ski gear on consignment...while specialty pro shops like mine who have bought product / stock it, still have cash invested in it have to cut pricing / minimal margins left just to compete if we even want to try to make the sale. It doesn't bode well for specialty shops like mine for sure. The impact is real...and our ability to do more for skiing, support pages like this gets harder and harder as we just have less and less to spend as our margins are shrinking. All this said, I / we are VERY grateful of the Ball of Spray community, the people who LOVE water skiing, who support our small business and believe that specialty ski shops still have a place in the retail landscape. You guys and your passion fuel us during some of the harder times in retail. Please don't take any of my commentary above as a "pity party" or "woe is me"...but this forum is about telling things as you know them and see them and sharing your experiences with others that share your passions in life. I get the reality of Amazon in todays shopping world....but also would encourage you to support your small pro shops in your town / region / nation. You impact family owned business who love skiing, and believe in customer service, product knowledge and trying to invest in staff who share this also. Bill Porter - Owner - Performance Ski and Surf
  19. Mark...my pleasure to help you...and just hope your son loves it....and pretty confident he will. Keep me posted...LOVE helping be a part of people's waterski christmas!!
  20. @jenksski the udpated Senate shapes are doing INCREDIBLE here in the shop! Smoother, faster and just an easy ski to ski on. We've sold about 6 Pro builds so far..and so far its been pretty much all "love" from them. Lithium seems to be much improved also. Had 2 clients over the holiday weekend buy them..ski them....both were coming of ancient skis, so goign to a PVC core alone was a big improvement. Alloys are the go to boat ski for skiers...easy, fast fun... We are loaded up..ready to help. On skis with adjustable fins..we will make sure those leave setup too! heres a link to all the Senate gear if you want to have a look! https://www.perfski.com/ski/collections/radar-collection/senate-collection

  22. Hey @MarkW we have lots of options for you new and used. I know I have Omni's and Alloy and Graphite Senate Closeouts, also might have some demo skis. What ever I can do I'll help as I can. Best Regards...and Happy Thanksgving. Bill @ Performance
  23. Masterline's bag is still pretty much the industry standard...and super durable. Also have sold Burton Roller Snowboard bags to several pro skiers throughout the years. Let us know if we can help. We have options for sure!
