  1. Best score was 2@ 22, 34 mph. (B3) this was right after a full pass 34/15 off. it was a class c tournament as were the previous ones. There was a class L being run on another pond at the same time same site. However the long line same speed scoring was also at two other previous class c tournaments in two different states. The judge was told and was aware of the rules. I think the computer may be the problem. I messaged him when I read the scores but that was just today. I am only mentioning it here because maybe I am not understanding something and need some clarification.
  2. My boy has been to three tournaments in New England. B3 Starting at 28 15 off and ending with 4 32 15 off scored as 4 at 32 long line. then 5 at 32 15 off scored as 5@32 long line. and lastly after a full run @ 34 15 off he shortened to 22 and ran a 2 @ 34 22 off scored as 2 at 34 long line. Results posted but unofficial. So using the new rule pass #4 skiing 15 off 34 is scored as 34 long line and then at pass #5 he gets 2 @ 22 off 34 and is scored as 2 a 34 long line. His score is lower at pass #5 22 off then it was at pass #4 with a full run @ 34 15 0ff. Every pass is scored at his speed long line. I understand 36 is his max speed but buoy count went down as line got shorter. I was led to believe the 15 off scores would be = the same as long line next higher speed. Subsequently the 32 15 off should have = 34 LL and 34/22 off should have been scored = to 36/15 off. What am I not getting?
  3. lpskier.... We sent in our membership and two days later there was a notice that due to lack of sponsorship there would no INT events this year. We received a refund!

  5. thanks-It was new to us and we will look into reading up on it. I like it especially since I don't think my boy is ready for 36 just yet! We are going to start shortening @34mph. We had not skied much AWSA last year, He was better suited for the INT Leagues tournaments nearby. Since no more INT in New England we are back to all AWSA. In the past at the slower speeds he never missed the entry gate so we were un aware of that rule.
  6. This weekend I hear that a junior at the end of his pass can elect to go up in speed or shorten the line. No longer does one have to reach max division speed before shortening. I have no objection but can someone explain the scoring. If you are a boys 3 and normally would get to 36 before going to 22 off you can now do it @ 32 or 34. If you ran 28 off 32 mph what would your score be? Would it be the same as 28 off @ 36? or ? Something eles I was made aware of was that if you miss the entrance gate on your first run and still ski the full course and complete your next pass you score all the points. If you don't ski the course or do not make the second 6 you score 0! My boy learned that one the hard way. Missed the gate and thought he was done!
  7. One of the "experts" on the news stated it was common to loose a pet to an alligator, it just doesn't make the news. This was tragic but an accident non the less. We tend to get complacent about things. It takes an event as horrific as this to awaken the public to the dangers that are around us.
  8. My boy (14) is skiing on a 65" Radar Senate Alloy. This ski took him from 15/28mph to getting into 15/34 and the season just started. He is now soon going to need to be skiing @36. We are thinking it may be Vapor time. Will an alloy be ok or is there a big advantage with graphite or lithium. He is 5'10- 125lbs. 65" or 66" - We have no objection to buying used.
  9. Barefoot jumps are about the size your looking for. There must be specs for those.
  10. Metric and Line off #'s would cover all aspects of skiers math abilities!
  11. Wakeboarding gets the sponsorship, the press, TV coverage. My kids prefer water skiing. One show, one tournament but minimal wakeboarding interest!
  12. Ordered mine this morning. Could add a hoodie!
  13. Maybe someone can do a pole. I have had Boat US for many years without issue (or claim). A local Ski Club suggested that I should have Ski Safe insurance especially if pulling for club activities, shows etc. Does anyone have more knowledge on this subject. What do you all use and why?
  14. @ Mark_Matis Your observation for puppies, works for combos and jumpers but not slalom skis. It takes two puppies to create more. Slalom skis are sold as singles. One slalom can't do it alone.
  15. How about "It just followed me home. Can I keep it?" It has worked with puppies!
  16. you can ski the course on two skis. I've seen an older guy at Eastern Regionals do it!
  17. My boom is only used to teach kids. I took an old small diameter handle and zip tied it to the boom close enough that there is not much movement. The smaller dimeter is easier to hold for little hands. Once they are comfortable keeping skis together or positing a wakeboard and getting up we move to long line behind the boat. The longer the better so they stay in the wakes better.
  18. Wasn't there a Terry slalom late 70's early 80's ?
  19. While on vacation in March they offered and we accepted to have them check the specs on my sons ski so we would know if fin and wing were in specs and have a base number. They provided this service and were happy to do so knowing we bought the ski somewhere else. They are a well stocked, skier friendly shop!
  20. The love affair with wakeboard boats has made the manufacturers spend much more time catering to and developing boats for that market. When a factory ratio of wake to ski boats is 80-90% wakeboard boat and the demand for them is equally as great, we will be lucky to see any innovations from the big factories.
  21. Mid 90's boat in 2016 @ 1,000 hours is approx 50 hours per year. considering the 2012's and newer for sale with 300-600 hours that is not a lot of use. A northern boat sees approx 1/2 a year of use, which means a 1/2 year of out in the sun. Most get stored indoors and are kept up. Where are you located? I may have what your looking for!
  22. I have owned and sold lifts over the years including Shoremaster, Harbormaster, and Nyman waterlifts. I now own a Floe. I have to remove mine in fall before ice comes or it would get ruined. The screw jack legs are a big plus for me. Something to consider if lake level changes over the year. Mine is a VSD 24 volt. Super quiet and with a solar charger runs all summer without needing to charge the batteries. Floe has the best canopy of all I have seen. Boat is tucked up under canopy even with Bimini up. Floe is a little pricey, but well worth the investment. All aluminum with vinyl coated bunks. Shoremaster would be a good second choice. I launch and remove mine using a crank up pontoon trailer.
  23. 18 year old boat with less than 1800 hours is not bad when you see 2015's with 700hrs for sale!
  24. I have a 98 that will be up for sale as soon as a few other items I have on sale move. I too want a 200 1,000 hrs EFI lift or garage stored located i
  25. We were in Orlando last week. My son skied one day at LaPoints in a tournament, Went to Nautique's cable park for some wakeboarding Sunday. We did Mon,Tues, & Wed at Sunset Lakes. Skied one set with JT, several with another instructor and capped off the last set with Jack. Son learned a lot and is excited about this season. We had arraigned a tour at Nautique and got to visit with our old friend Mr. Ralph who is 98 and the son of the founder. Tours are Mon through Thurs and mornings are best
