  1. Once upon a time wind shields were hinged so the could be raise about 2" off the deck allowing airflow on a very hot day. I'ld love to see that comeback.
  2. One way to find out would be to try someone's Senate and see how you perform.
  3. Giddy up or Let it happen Captin! Hit it was the universal term because Go and No sound to much alike!
  4. If some of you want to ski on two skis get a combo pair or some old jumpers. Skiing on two slaloms will be harder to get up on and slalom skis wound ride flat as good as skis designed to be used in pairs. Used combos or sporting good store models are fine for recreational skiing.
  5. I would agree with Mark about Travers. Even with two sets a day you will learn, better your skills. Travers will work with you. With any of these places contact them and book in advance!
  6. In addition to the measures mentioned above let me add having a good knife capable of cutting a binding loose or freeing a entangled rope in boat accessible. Always pick up skier on driver side so you communicate directly with fallen skier and know exactly where he is. If skiing a new site take the time to get emergency information as where hospital is, how far away medical help is, and where to send them in relation to where your skiing. ( Not every one knows where Joe's house on the winding dirt road is, as there may be more than one!)
  7. just an opinion and suggestion. AWSA dictates the specs for a tournament boat. Length, power, etc, and each mfg make only 1 model promo boat. Testing would be less $$ and consistency might be better. Mfg's can still offer similar but different variations, like open bow, power options, towers and other upgrades to the public. Making several different models is highly unnecessary just for tournament skiing.
  8. 1998 1100 hours. Changed original cable @ 1050hrs. Kept on a lift. Full back seat. Even weight (3 people) up front nets an even wake.
  9. @ Edbrazil Thanks for the 64 Nats pic. Literaly my back yard. If you turned the camera you would have seen my house. A for the Nipmuc club waiting list. That club had over 150 members around Nationals time. It had dwindled down to around 18-20 in the 70's Back to near 100 in the 90's. It has been capped @ around 50 limiting any growth for years. That's why there are waiting list. In regards to Nationals, well, my boy barely qualifies for Regionals and unless you have access to a private pond or private lessons getting that good is difficult. Like it or not we are loosing talent to wakeboarding. The events are more exciting, better covered, better sponsored, and attract spectators which grows the sport.
  10. Start with the same height and width as the bunks on your trailer. Clearing cross bars with skegs and shaft are your main concern.
  11. I know about Texas Style. My point was right side jumping as is right first ball is the norm.
  12. then you would want to jump from both sides. If you want a challenge do a pass back and forth at same speed, then switch foot configuration. go fro LF RR to RF LL and make the same two passes.
  13. My kids got to ski with her at a Correct Craft Fan Reunion and she was great!
  14. There were two products I've used, Y10 and FSR that were very effective at removing the coffee waterline stain. They were most likely some type of acid (similar to Naval Jelly). They were a jelly consistency that got wiped on left to sit 5 mins and hosed off. May leave a chalky finish but easily waxed back to shiny.
  15. I have been using a KW trick release for years. My current one is removable because of a low pylon height. We use the in show skiing with multiple people on one release. They don't fail.
  16. LeonL That's what is shows!
  17. I notice tis in trick mode pulling my daughter swivel @ 15.6 it runs 15.4 - 15.8 some time in the wind / with the wind variations- In slalom we increased the crew weight and that seems to have helped a fair amount. the fluctuation @ 32 -34 is within a couple 10ths as well. Along side my Stargazer is a GPS speedo and they run very close.
  18. I have a Ramlin and it uses 2x4' and they appear canted with a beveled edge.
  19. the bunk boards are beveled, not just bolting a 2x4to the frame.
  20. 3 sets is called Time for a beer!............. so I've been told!
  21. 2@22/34 was at Pangea. This year he skied a tournament @ LaPoints in March. Since then he has had a 25 buoy gain including the 10 this weekend. This is with minimal practice on a public lake course. Conditions and or traffic limit time on the line.
  22. Scored buoys were correct line length listed incorrect. Officials made aware of the situation and it is a work in progress. I don't think there were many utilizing this new rule. He may have been the only one. He said he may just go for 36/15 and not have to deal with it. Then he can decide what is best for him for now. Thanks for the input and clarifications. He has made a 10 buoy gain since his last tournament a week ago and with 2 days of skiing on a new ski so we are happy!
  23. The score did read 74 buoys @ 34 Long Line. The buoy count is right, the line length through me off.
