  1. The division has a range of 65 to 150lbs. What works for a 135lbs 5'5 13 yo may be overwelming for a 70 lb 4'8 10 yo. This is a novice division for the most part and we should not try to discourage anyones progress. If it means add a rope or redsign the division then maybe it should be looked into.
  2. Mark, We had talked through 15 off (the site) and I wanted to put faces to names. I understand there was alot going on especially with the amount of skiers. I appreciate that you even watched Blake ski and offered some advise. I know evryone is working hard for their PB @ Easterns, and Nationals. Once that is over maybe some folks can tweak his technique and get him on his way. I had a great time @ Oakham seeing some old friends and making some new ones. After watching a video of the Regionals Blake tried skiing on a trick (got up 1st try) and is talking maybe a go at the jump. We are already discussing April@ April's for next year.
  3. With that logic Wakesurfing could be a new olympic sport because once you let go of the rope the boat is just making a wave.
  4. The motorized aspect would come into play if each skier had their own or a boat choice. If all competitors are pulled by the same boat, same driver, with timing and cameras would be difficult to favor a particular skier. It doesn't seem to be a problem in all other waterski.wakeboard events. Our sport gets very minimal press and it could introduce alot more recreational skiers and never before skiers to the sport. As for Nascar, it's not amatuer.
  5. With the exception of Cricket it seems like verything is available as an olympic sport. Not to belittle anyone that is competing in the olympics but there are some lame and boring sports that qualify. Do you think 3 event or even wakeboard/skate will ever become an olympic event?
  6. By INT standards he is in Jr 4th class. Under 13 and can make a full pass LL or 15off, next is 4th class any age working on a full pass 28 mph 15off. 3rd class is 30 -15off, 2nd is 32 -15 off, 1st class working on full pass 34-15off and then Jr expert13 and under working 0n-22off then expert, men 34 and under working on 15 and 22 off@ 32mph. There seems to be alot of territory from jr 4th class to 3th class to cover. Long time in 4th class.
  7. He is in B2 - Looks like our next chance @ AWSA is Dubes on the 26th
  8. I told him switching right before a tournament is not a smart move so we will be running LL this weekend. He watched a video of the AWSA kids his age at the puddle and wants to be part of that group.
  9. Mark, That's were the confusion set in. You told me the same thing @ Oakham, then two weeks later when he skis a full pass and out of novice the consensus was to move to 15 off. He feels like everyone else is doing it and it becomes the deciding factor placing in the tournament. I really need to get him some coaching, maybe after the nationals someone will have time.
  10. We have managed, not necessarily mastered a full pass 21mph. running 4 to 5 and sometimes just missing 6 @ 23. My question is : Do we stay at long line until 28 or 32mph or should we be working on 15off now/ Will the transition be harder later at higher speed? We compete mostly INT and everyone seems to be running 15 off even at slow speeds. We are slowly getting into USA water ski tournaments but we need some pointers. This is 10 y/o boy free skiing everyday, practice at a course once or twice a week.
  11. INT has a slalom tiurnament Aug, 11 in Plymouth MA. Jr Novice upto open competition.
  12. Our lake name - Chargoggagoggmanchaugagoggchabunagungamaugg is taken, sorry. It means ' you fish on your side, I fish on my side, nobody fish in middle" Located in Webster, Massachusetts.
  13. My son is a novice course skier. He skis on a Goode 9800 with a wrap front, toe rear. He thinks he might want to go to power shell5 bindings. Any thoughts? Is this gonna help or hurt him. Are they more dangerous? His ski has a power plate with 3m lock now.
  14. If you want to wear your pants that low you have to earn the right. Get a belly, or pull 'em up!!!
