  1. This may come across as very abrupt and its probably meant to be a little, It's VERY easy to find out who is running the Malibu Open, Tommy, Chad and Jerry ( I'm sure Tony was in this group as well this year???) i'm sure would much prefer an email, phone call or facebook message NOW with the offers of support/help for next years Malibu Open. There is a fantastic group of people involved with running the event from Mike who sets up the courses, who would welcome any help, Dennis from Malibu is awesome to have a chat to and the Guy (Who's name escapes me atm) Who is sooo passionate about getting the ramp absolutely perfect!!! Hell if I can manage a week to help set up last years (I live in another Country) anyone can find some time to give a day to help out in whatever way they can!!
  2. @ClaiCouture I wouldn't let the age thing at Cobles bother you. Anytime I have been there you will find most people on the same wavelength regardless of age and quite easy to get along with. @Chef23 thoughts are spot on from a student point of view and as an instructor there I have had students range from about 4 to 82!!!! And if you have a long distance to travel try and go a week that has a Saturday ski school as well, that way you can have a day off then get in some extra sets,,,, and play with the instructors Thursday Night =)

    carb adjust

Float level set too high?? Overflow runs straight into inlet manifold if it is, which will make it run rich/lumpy/smelly AND just remembered i had this site saved as well, a bit of reading but very helpful www.bob2000.com/carb.htm
  4. Moomba video is up on you tube. Good to show it clearly backs up the judges decisions on some of the gate calls =)
  5. @Than_Bogan nope we skied =) and just got home from our site again tonight. Mildura North West Victoria in Australia
  6. 43 air temp here today =) oh wait thats in Celsius not Fahrenheit =)
  7. @Rich I would say figure it out, it is a very individual thing but learn to spot the same thing every time. If that happens to be the back of the boat and you find you over turn change it to the front of the boat. I too have the exact same issue and find looking for the next ball works for me in keeping inside shoulder up and helps with my hips as well,,,, although as i get older and my eyes deteriorate its getting harder to do =)
  8. @Horton For those that do not understand the Panda this may help!
  9. YES it can be worse, move to Southern hemisphere, 11c here today and have not seen the sun for 3 days
  10. We have had some issues with Polyform basically going to mush on top after a couple of weeks, there where replaced by the supplier. Guessing like most things in life the recipe can get mucked up occasionally!

  12. Cobles do some Saturdays and is about a 3 hour drive from Charlotte
  13. @MattP @klindy if thats the case why have the rule at all???? I find it VERY unlikely that the word round was used in two different ways in the one sentence. At a World Championships there would only be one make of boat anyway. I certainly hope a clarification of this rule comes along quickly as it would be a shame for a potential WR be denied due to it =/
  14. @klindy did you read the above rule? It refers to rounds not divisions, this is a new IWWF rule that came in last year, maybe people are unaware of this? The only way I can see getting around this rule is to change divisions between rounds.
  15. @John Brooks I understand the different divisions to get a different boat BUT that is not how the rule reads though,,, i.e. OW, W2 and W3 in their first round must all ski behind the same boat, for round 2 the boat could be changed to another make. From my understanding of the rule what was done is not allowed????? Unless they are changing divisions between rounds??????
  16. @Jody_Seal mmm,, The new IWWF rule (10.01 g) was bought to my attention after one of our Tournaments this year as we used two boats/round n.b. a DIVISION is different to a ROUND. Thoughts???? For Jumping and Slalom, identical boats must be used by contestants in an event. Different boat could be used in each round of the competition, but not different boats within one round. For Tricks, the skier may select any one of the types of boats chosen for the tournament. Two teams of drivers and boat officials may be assigned to the Trick event at the option of the Chief Judge. The driver may be changed by the Chief Judge if he deems it necessary due to the length of the event. The Chief Judge may decide to use alternating identical boats to eliminate lost time and to speed up the running of the event.
  17. @jimski ZO will only react to the load on the boat (not where it is in the course*)which then "gasses" as per the letter i.e. A slow on fast off B Mid on Mid off and C Fast on slow off. I would suggest the difference you felt was your course being out of tolerance due to moving, both anchors would not have moved the same amount! *I have not used the plus setting but it WILL require the course mapped to know where the gate is
  18. I think the big thing to remember is that binding and fin settings are a GUIDE. Due to the differences you mention, the way we measure fins (especially DFT) etc. I know after changing to FM's from HO Approaches I ended up 10mm further forward with binding position on the same ski!!!!!
  19. AND i don't mind admitting I'm wrong =/ @Horton
  20. @Horton SHE is already mid 14m @55 kph after only starting course in November! I typically would set to stock and leave it but it is not quite right, turns are now even on both sides but seems to still want to go narrow coming into the ball. I may be wrong but I am not convinced it is her causing it to do this i.e. her technique is very good. Cooling down here so limited sets for whats left of the season =(
  21. In the process of helping a friend set one up, relatively new course skier so getting feedback is difficult 6.867 2.490 .720 8 deg (was at .728) think next will be to remove a little tip or bindings back a little to help ski cast out of second wake. Or open to other suggestions if people have them?
  22. @Laz it is generally made available online AFTER it airs on pay TV in Australia which will be in the next few weeks,, actually May 4th, so will be a few weeks after that.
  23. errrrrrrr,,,,,,,, MOOMBA!!!!!!! Only place a skier should be in March =)
