  1. Our 4th child is now 8 months old, and she loves to help drive the boat while either my wife or I ski! All of our kids where in our lap when they were little, then in the observer's seat once they got big enough. We got our 3 year, 1 month old daughter up on the Skimmer a couple of weeks ago. Having the kids out with you brings a whole new dimension to the sport we love!
  2. Oh my Lawd, after wathching that video I think I've got a case of the Vapors!
  3. Agree with others that if you go with a brace, have your Dr. write an Rx for a custom fitted one. I have a Don Joy that I used the 1st season after my ACL was replaced. I use it for snow skiing as well.
  4. If possible, have her try a different ski/bindings. Also, tell her to make a conscientious effort to have the knee cap of the back knee touch the back of the front knee on those off-side turns.
  5. Hah, they forgot to make their domain payment! Oopsie.
  6. Clicked on their site this morning, all gone!
  7. Lake's still frozen solid for the most part, but the warm weather from the weekend started melting the shoreline out about 10'. It was 22F this morning, here is SE MI. Gonna be awhile before we can think about (water) skiing.
  8. thager, while my intention was pre year 2000, I did think about it being construed as less than $2000. Figured I'd just leave it ambiguous and see how it was interprete
  9. Another really old one was the original O'Brien TRC from '84, I think, when it actually had the Titanium Reinforced Core.
  10. I have a Mapple-Siege, circa '99, which I skied until a couple of years ago (grey clear coat so you could see the carbon fiber, with Andy's signature in gold on the lower half). I tried an '06 SIXAM a few times, but could just had a heck of a time trying to get it on edge (looking back, that might have been due to those Bio bindings more than the ski that gave me problems). I finally upgraded to a '10 Elite with Prodigy bindings a couple years ago, and that has worked for me quite well. I still miss that old beast sometimes. I remember it being a bit twitchy and pretty unforgiving of mistakes, particularly unforgiving about stepping on the front to slow down, OTF anyone? Once used to it, though, it was like I just had to think what I wanted to do, and it reacted. It was fun!
  11. When our little ones reach that age, we just sit them in the driver's lap if it's just the wife and I.
  12. I had it from around '82 until a few years ago. At the time when my last subcription was up, I sent in the renewal notice, but never received any mags, only a notice to pay. I told them I'd gladly pay if they would only send me the issues they were trying to charge me for. They didn't, and even had a collection agency come after me! Needless to say, I'll NEVER pay, or have, that rag in my home ever again.
  13. Leave the man alone, he's going for the Marcus Brown look!
  14. Try Spex-Rx amphibious prescription eyewear. You just give them your Rx and they'll make them for you, plus they float. I've used these for years because I don't like to wear contacts and I'm blind as a bat.
