  1. Chicks with sticks get more balls (my wife would be upset if I didn't come up with one for the ladies!)
  2. The stiffer your stick, the deeper you get.
  3. Yep, hip flexors take a beating with the slalom stance, as mentioned above. I'm very sensitive to it, being that my spine looks like a slalom skiers path through the 1st to balls. Tight flexor, coupled with curvy spine, equals very misaligned hips and big knife in lower back style pain. Lots of proper stretching and a very good massage therapist will help if it gets to be more of a curiosity for you. Also, lots of core strengthening exercises!
  4. Silver Spray Sports Christmas Party, haha! If you live in the Midwest and are in the market for a new boat, you owe it to yourself to visit Jeff and Patti, and become part of the SSS family.
  5. Yes, shorter in width, I thought most on this site would get it, and narrower just doesn't work as well in the context of shortline so not nearly as clever! :D
  6. 9 out of 10 Dentist recommend shortline slalom for whiter teeth (the 10th recommends a shortened course).
  7. Prescription Spex. No way can I see without. I've tried with contacts, but water was always getting between the lens and my eye.
  8. I spent a fair amount of time in it yesterday, and I've gotta say it's an impressive boat. I didn't sit in the one while anyone slalomed, but watched from shore as somebody went out. Not sure what length he was at, but looked to be somewhere around 32 off or so, and looked to be 34mph. I was pretty surprised at how little bounce I saw through the wakes. Didn't seem to phase him at all, really. Of course, when they were taking the little kids through at slow speeds, the wake was pretty big. It's definitely geared towards the family that does a bit of everything, has a ton of room, very well laid out, and can make a very big wake for a 20' boat. Personally, I hope they sell a bunch so they can afford to keep making and improving upon the 200!
  9. I was all excited, thought there was a new D3 model! Behold The SuperNate!
  10. Best just to accept that some use these silly terms and move on. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that West Coasters HATE IT when the rest of us don't adopt their jargon! :#
  11. The new DI engines are so responsive and dynamic in their acceleration characteristics, it would make sense that one would need to move back a letter.
  12. No no no, it all started when you woke up 5 minutes late and had to skip your morning cup of coffee. Everything went downhill from there! :D
  13. Anybody who has ever strapped into a slalom ski knows their on side from their off side. No thought required. While I understand why some would reference heel side and toe side, it is not naturally intuitive when both feet are facing forward, and therefore it makes my feeble, overtaxed brain hurt every time I have to think about whether my on side is heel or toe! I guess I should spend more time wake boarding through the course...
  14. My 3 year old on the Skimmer and 6 year old providing moral support on the kneeboard. 11 year old son holding the Skimmer handle, and the 8 year old daughter was back at the house prepping food with Mom. Good day!
  15. @JordanOz, it was the The Radius Ergo Anti-roll custom 13".
  16. @JordanOz I found a phone number and called them a little while ago. I was informed the handle I wanted is backordered and not available for at least another 2 months, so I asked to cancel the order. No answer as to why I wasn't informed of the backorder earlier or why my emails weren't answered. Pretty disappointing experience all in all. I live in MI, our summers are short and precious, and as the meme goes, ain't nobody got time for that!
  17. I usually clean my own, but sometimes, when I'm lucky, my wife will clean them for me. She did that a lot more before we got married...
  18. Good luck. I ordered a new handle from their website about 6 weeks ago. I got an order confirmation emailed right away, but nothing since. They haven't responded to multiple emails or given an order cancellation. I have no idea what's going on with them. It really shouldn't be so hard for somebody to take my $$!!
  19. I like mine, but they run quite small, so plan 1-2 sizes bigger than you normally wear. I have very narrow feet, wear 8-8 1/2 in shoes, and the Prodigy 9s barely fit.
  20. @DanE, no, that would have been the original Obrien TRC, when it really had the Ti Reinforced Core!
  21. Here's me doing my best Superman impersonation when I was about 17, circa 1985.
  22. I think this would have to get my vote.
  23. DNR has the right to police any body of water in MI, public or private, is how I understand it (maybe for private, only if it flows into other bodies of water, not to sure of that point).
  24. @aupatking I agree. I skied on one of those vintage Mapple-Siege Obriens for many years. Looks just like a painted version of that!
