  1. @Horton and @eleeski this picture should help. The inserts are flush with the top, but they are a different type which use a socket head above the threads so they can be inserted using a Allen wrench. Upon closer inspection, the threads are about 3mm or 1/8" below the surface. Still, the standard 1/2" pan heads are too short to catch even 1 thread. It's just the way it's designed, and it works perfectly fine, but longer screws are needed.
  2. @Horton what is it that you disagree with my post? The screws which came with my boots fit my old ski just fine, because the threads of the inserts began just below the ski top. I couldn't even get a single thread started using them in my new ski because it uses a different type if thread insert where the threads are recessed about .25". Had to run out and buy longer screws.
  3. See, you were right all along @Horton. It IS a magical unicorn!
  4. Some inserts are recessed by up to 1/4", which makes many of the screws which come with bindings too short to even reach a thread. That happened to me recently. A tap doesn't help that situation.
  5. Thanks for the heads up. Of course, I read this as soon as I returned from Costco...
  6. Probably time to change the boat in your profile...
  7. At least the colors are correct! ;)
  8. Cause it's the BOMB @Than_Bogan !
  9. It could gain you a few balls, but it will make getting the balls a bit easier and more fun. Having just switched from a '10 O'Brien Elite to a brand spanky new Denali c-65, I can tell you that every generation of ski just gets more user friendly. I had my Elite dialed in so I was really comfortable on it, but right of of the box, the c-65 just feels more forgiving while turning better, holding angle more easily, and just being more responsive. Do yourself a favor and buy a new ski!
  10. @Than_Bogan Thanks for posting that, and your comments. Saturday was my 1st time out in the new c-65, open water 28 off @34mph. I was being pretty tentative, just trying to figure it out. It was also a bit windy out, so definitely not pushing it at all. Went out this morning with the wife for session 2, in very calm conditions, still open water. I gradually stopped pussy footing around, and quickly figured out that the faster I went into a turn, the better the ski responded! The best way to describe it is like a very good racecar with tons if downfirce, where speed into a turn gives more grip than going in slow. It's an amazing feeling, and I think Cale's and your comments helped make it click for me!
  11. After my in boxing. Did a few turns open water, 28 off @34 yesterday. Still figuring it out, but definitely can tell I'm gonna like it a lot. Fast, responsive, yet I can tell it's forgiving and very symmetrical. I have always struggled to get my offside somewhat near my onside, but this ski makes it feel like this will be the one to get it there! Unicorns ARE magic!
  12. It attracts honey bees! :D

    Tower on a 200

I would have liked to have gotten a tower in mine, but the factory one, at least, sits way too far back for slalom. I have 4 kids, and a couple like to board. Using the rear seat while towing boarder and tubes would have been nice.
  14. So, as an update, I went out and bought a couple gallons of Shell Rotella right after I was informed I was a dumb@ss here for not knowing about it. Of course, about 2 weeks later I saw the thread about how we can't use Rotella any more. So, anybody need 2 gallons of diesel oil that I have absolutely no use for? :s
  15. @Than_Bogan I hope your Intel is correct, because this waiting is torture!
  16. Like @lkb , I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas (order 97)! A ski that turns easily, accelerates quickly, AND is easy on the body? Yes please!
  17. @Than_Bogan and @Nando As @Horton will attest, unicorns DO have magical powers! I, for one, can't wait to get mine and experience the magic!
  18. Have you tried contacting Radar directly yet?
  19. OK, I've placed my order! Now comes the hardest part, waiting. @Horton I'll let you know if this unicorn farts a rainbow ball of spray.
  20. Thanks @AdamCord I'll be placing my order later today!
  21. So @AdamCord , if I order a 66" by tomorrow, would I have it to my house by August 19th? That would be a pretty nice 50th b-day present to myself!
  22. Great, now I have a drool stain on my shirt!
  23. @Rob You are right on JB, but he was mentioned 3 up from bottom of page 1.
  24. @Chef23 probably easier when young. I think I'd have a harder time now that I'm looking at 50. Glad to hear you're on the mend!
