  1. Willi Ellermier is the one behind the Raptor and the SFE. I have not used it, but for the SFE Willi said it tightens the radius of the turn. Once people tried it they said it wasn't earth shattering, but definitely didn't want to give it back. Like Kevin said the Raptor is just out, and Terry is involved with the ski. If you want to try one Willi is in Sacramento area and I believe will make them available there.
  2. We're going to Smithfield Virginia in September, and was wondering if I should pack a ski. Anyone in the area that may have time to pull a ride or two?
  3. @Nason jumping could be a way to enhance the Ryan Nason educational fund. I'd pay to see that.
  4. KcSwerver are you the one that came down to the Santa Clara tournament, that had family in the area? The only point I was making was that if that's you. You are about 2 hours from Terry Winter and a good hour from Greg Badal. I've had coaching from both and would highly recommend either one.
  5. I like the deduction system, but with a few specific parameters. Like a W5 would need at least 360 degrees, and a T7 maybe allowed a slight hesitation. I also think it should be more than a 10% penalty, to keep the incentive to be doing it right. I think Eric's point is that judging is inconsistent, this may make it easier. The key is implementing a training system.
  6. Interesting proposal. Maybe try it out in a tournament with a classF sanction.
  7. FrankS I have used a few different rubber bindings on my trick over the years. As far as the rubber boots go Wiley is the best for trick, I know they change a few things for trick not sure exactly what, but as far as a rubber boot hands down the best. The cheapest hard shell binding would probably be like @eleeski uses with the gatorade lids. Find a boot and attach to plate and drill the mount holes a bit oversize and you're in. I know he has posted pictures and specifics in another thread.
  8. Horton will there be a review of the Radar trick?
  9. @trfriess you're on the right track. A new ski would help you a lot. Size wise you probably want a 42" or 43". The Radar sounds cool, but they don't even list it on their web site, and I don't know of anyone who has laid eyes on it. I'm on the Quantum, but D3 hard edge is a good option too. I felt the Quantum got better air. Reflex might be a good ski, but don't know anyone with one. The older Kidder or Connelly would be a step up from what you're on, but not near the newer skis.
  10. I've had the FM universal liners for years through three different binding set ups. Work good and durable. A friend of mine went to the Goode liners with the tongue similar to FM Splash tongue liner and felt he could bend his ankle forward better. The liners can also be stretched when molded to be a little thinner. When I bought mine I called FM direct and they were very helpful.
  11. @cragginshred hope the fire misses you. Reading the inciweb that is quite a fire. You are smart to get out early. Ski rides at Sunspray is always a good idea. Great group of people to ski with always a good time there. The Tanker videos were cool, although the first video where they pretreat that far ahead is rare. The second video was a great view and more common drop.
  12. Terry has a knack for finding the one thing that can make the biggest difference, and can put that in simple terms. You can find Terry at ski west coast or Liquid Zone.
  13. I pulled the core out of the heater, took it to the local auto parts and had them order a replacement. I live in Ca and drain the water in winter, but It's been over five years. Working good.
  14. I use the Intuition and got a smaller size and stretched it when I heated it.
  15. Scott at Liquid Wrenches can get trick stuff and Masterline. You can also visit Greg Badal at Diablo Shores and try HO stuff. Mateo Vargas would be the closest ski ride at Aquatic Park.
  16. Trick gives you more time on the water, and it is very gratifying to learn new tricks. Most people at the Pond ski and leave, so it's hard to get a good driver and pinner.
  17. My son tricks, and slalom. My daughter never really caught the skiing bug. The boy does do a fair amount of trick slalom. It's great driving practice.
  18. My son competes and is a three event regular judge, and assistant scorer. My daughter skis once in a while, but never caught the bug. I support them in whatever they do.
  19. @jdarwin is right it is the principle. USAWS has a lot of rules, requirements, and fees to help or put on a tournament. Personally I don't care if the driver has had a DUI, i know there is enough scrutiny at a tournament that there will not be drunk driving at a tournament.
  20. What I would suggest is to have the buyer look at the boat run it on land, come to terms on the price and get a deposit. The last condition would be a water test, and a cashier's check in the parking lot. You could have an amount of nonrefundable deposit.
  21. I'm in California not too cold. I still just open the petcocks on the block and pull the plugs out of the manifolds. The heater has done ok so far. Richard Doan, does the air dryer really help keep the boat dry?
  22. I called Robbie yesterday and she said they probably wouldn't have the new suits until March at the soonest. I ordered the silver one hopefully the large will fit.
  23. The vest in Discovery Bay is in perfect condition. It doesn't have the weight belt in it, but that is available through Goode. I tried it, but not sure if I'm ready to take the plunge, like @eleeski said it's hard to go back.
  24. I looked for the suit and couldn't find the Camaro Black Tec 2.0. Robbie's site only showed the titanium suit. Hotwatercc had more, but not the Black Tec, and the prices were pesos not dollars.
