  1. Crossfit is really good. They are good at teaching and making sure you use good technic. When you get to the work out of the day know your limits. My attitude is that I do this to keep doing all the things I like to do, and don't want another venue to get injured.
  2. I have found some trick coaching on you tube. I would try all the tricks mentioned and the ones you like work on the most. As for the flip, it's a good way to end a run, after all you were going to fall anyway,
  3. Terry Winter is coaching at Liquid Zone. I've had Terry coach before. He is good at finding what works, and keeps it simple, and understandable.
  4. I went from A1 to Strada. I liked both skis, but the Strada was more forgiving when I got on the tail.
  5. I will be there along with my wife and son. I'm an assigned judge for the week. John Crivello
  6. I have never been there, but I heard the airport Hilton has a lake there you can buy rides from.
  7. My Son an I are going. I'm safety all week. If anyone can help, we can use it especially in jump.

    New boat

    What's the trick wake like?
  9. That is typical for the hoists. When I had mine I closed the valve as soon as it was low enough. The water in the motor will cause problems, but closing it before the water got to it seemed to work.
  10. boarditup you should go to a clinic and get involved. I know the clinics are a pain, but the teaching needs to reach the lowest common denominator. We need people with water rescue background. Clinic to start and three sign offs at a tournament your in. Regional takes that and a few chief safety at tournaments, then you can teach clinics. We don't do this for USA Waterski we do it for us. We could use more knowledgeable people.
  11. When I went from rubber to the Goode hardshells. It took more time setting them up than I thought, placement, rotation, figuring out velcro etc. The one thing that helped in the beginning was leaving the rear buckle a little loose. As I got more used to them I tightened it up more. Hope this helps.
  12. I Have an older Trakker and have used a few cameras on it that worked fine. The first one was an old camera that used tape. The second was a cheap one with an internal memory it too worked well. We use the Flip cameras for filming trick at tournaments they work well also.
  13. One of the problems with getting the velcro to connect is the boots are in the way. Under the advice of another skier who had prerelease problems. I Marked the boots on the plate. Pulled the plate off. Taped the inserts from the bottom. Removed the boots. Put the plate back on with no boots. This was easier to pound the plate on with a block and a mallet, but also I had a good visual to see the plate was fully locked on. Sounds cumbersome, but it did work.
  14. Oh one other thing if you use gas as a solvent skip the baking the hubs.
  15. When putting the races back in I put them in the freezer and bake the hub at 200 degrees. They seem to go in a little easier. Also if you do the brakes it is usually easier to do the complete backing plate with the brakes and wheel cylinder already installed, just four bolts.
  16. The Grassroots is a good program that should be integrated into C tournaments. The incentives should also support the loyal customers not just the new ones. After all who is going to put on the Grassroots tournaments. This would also let us do this in one tournament instead of two.
  17. It was explained to me like jefflyman said, the oil gets washed out with the water. One of the better fiberglass repair shops highly recommended 3m products. He said they were a chemical process not just filling with oil. I bought a Porter Cable buffer and a couple different pads and use either 3m color/gloss restorer and or 3m perfect-it rubbing compound once a year. I've had good luck with it.
  18. Dave, I became a safety instructor, because no one else was doing it. Pretty much what you need to upgrade is a clinic and a take home test to upgrade. These are the "Quantitative Requirements-2011" One USA Water Ski sanctioned Safety Clinic completed since becoming a State Safety Director ̈ Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR or equivalent (certificate of completion as proof) ̈ Eight USA Water Ski sanctioned tournaments or show exhibitions as Safety Director (chief or assistant) ̈ Two additional USA Water Ski sanctioned tournaments as Chief Safety Director ̈ A written take-home test (once the above requirements are met and verified by USA Water Ski)
