  1. A buddy of mine is looking into a 2004 LXI. I have heard that the more recent lxi's are less than desirable from a driving standpoint. The feedback is that they tend to get pulled around a bit. Do the earlier lxi's share the same reputation?
  2. I can second Tom's comments on Terry. What a great guy with very practical and understandable instruction. I have been working on a couple of points he told me for the last week and have gone from running 22 at 34mph about 30% of the time to running it about 90%. I can't wait to spend more time at 28. Summer goal is 3 bouys at 32. Thanks Terry!
  3. I skied behind a sunsetter lxi for about three years and really liked it. I ended up with a Prostar 197/x7 and love it. If on open big water, I would probably go with the sunsetter as the bow is a bit higher but if you find a good deal on a 197, try it out. They are really nice boats and some good deals are out there.
  4. Wow, good stuff. Thanks Russell, I will reach out to Tom. Marcus, if you make it up here, I will be there.
  5. Just wondering if there are any Pro clinics coming to Oregon or Washington this summer. I ski on public water and am not as connected as I'd like to be in the waterski community up here. Hopefully someone in the know on this site can help me out. I'm hoping this summer might be my summer to break into 32 off. We'll see, might need some help.
  6. Man, I am torn right now. I am temped to buy one of the new freeride skis, the Satori or the HO Freeride. Anyone here skied both? What are your thoughts? I'm going to try to get out this weekend to try both.
  7. Thanks guys, I should have mentioned that I checked that first thing when the boat wouldn't start.
  8. I was out this weekend enjoying the first nice weekend in Oregon on my X7 with my 2 year old son as my first mate, and had to get towed back to the launch, BUMMER. Anyhow, we were on the water for several hours just cruising the river and stopping every so often to relax. Toward the end of the day, after a stop, the boat wouldn't start. I cranked just fine and had enough fuel. Any thoughts on why it might not be working? Could it be the fuel filter or fuel pump? I just thought it was weird that the boat was working fine and then just wouldn't start back up.
  9. That looks like a smokin deal. I don't see the perfect pass on the dash though.
  10. @tc, I'm looking for a size 11 i think. I usually wear a size 10 shoe. I tried on a pair of 10 stradas and my toes were hitting the front of the boot. Do stradas typically run a little small?
  11. Hy guys. I am looking into a pair of used 2012 Stradas as a result of all the positive feedback on the forum about these bindings. My question relates to the moldable Intuition liners. Am I going to regret buying a used pair for 50% the origianal cost since these have most likely been molded to someone elses foot?
  12. I have the Perfect Pass pro on my 2004 197 and am wondering which configuration offers the closest experience to Zero Off. I have heard I should use the switch with certain settings and I have heard I should forget the switch. Short of getting a Stargazer/Z-Box setup, what is the best way to train with the non GPS unit?
  13. WIth the new Goode Nano/Snow Ski promotion, I thought I'd ask if anyone has any experience with Goode Snow Skis. I have never seen them at any of the ski shops around here in Portland. Are they any good?
  14. I used to ski behind a 99 sport nautique and a 2001 sunsetter lxi. I can say that I would pick the sunsetter lxi from a slalom standpoint everytime. I mostly ski 15 to 28 off and the bump on the sport nautique was much more noticable. Have you thought about a mastercraft 197 or x7? Those are nice for the family too. I have one and love it!
  15. So do you all think that Stradas are safer than Wileys? I refuse to try the powershells ever agian. That separation fall is the closest I have ever been to death. I actually had a concussion from that and don't remember much from that day. I guess I am debating between the Stradas, Reflex/Fluid Motion, or keeping my Wileys although they get uncomfortable. I just want to keep my feet out of a cast and missing another season. Thanks for all your feedback.
  16. With the laces left "not too tight", do you still get good support? Do you ever feel sloppy in the boot?
  17. I'm looking to plan a trip with the family in the pacific northwest this summer, mid July timeframe. I live in Portland and am thinking about the northern washington/northern idaho/nw montana areas. Do any of you have experience vacationing in this area. I am looking for a place with decent lodging, enough for 10 or more people. I also would love to find a place with nice water and a course. Any recommendations? Camping is ok too
  18. I'm debating on getting some new boots. I have an HO S2 and am currently on Wileys. My front (right) foot always cramps up after the 4th pass or so and is the main reason for the desire to change. I am considering the Stradas, HO Apex, or HO Exo's. I broke my right foot pretty bad in Animals six years ago and don't want to repeat that. I want the safest boot I can find with good performance and comfort. By the way, I tried the powershells the year after I broke my foot and hated the interlock system. I separated twice and damn near killed myself. Thanks! Oh, I'm a 28off skier, hoping to make it through 32 this year.

I got one from Miami Nautiques this summer. Call them. (305) 438-9464.
  20. Im looking at a 1999 ski nautique with over 3000 hours and thought this might be a good boat at the right price for a zero off conversion. I know this has been talked about alot around here but I haven't seen any specifics around this version ski nautique. What does it take to convert one of these boats for Zero Off? What is the cost? Also, if a boat has a tower on it and you want to take it off, how difficult is it to fill the holes and make it look like it was never there? Lastly, what is the average cost for a new interior?
  21. I had similar problems when on the powershells. I broke my foot pretty bad 5 years ago in animals, requiring surgery. I got the powershells to help protect my foot and avoid another injury. I had two unexpected releases and two concussions and bruised ribs. I am on Wileys now and couldn't be happier. Those powershells are scary if you ask me.
  22. I have the 67.5. One thing I am noticing is that I am getting spray in my face when I round the bouy. Skiing 22-28 off and 210 lbs. This is probably more technique than anything, but do you all think if I move the bindings back from stock it will help the situation? Another question I have is should I remove the wing on this ski given the line length I am skiing right now?
  23. I might be available sometime Wednesday early afternoon or Thursday. We ski a neat little course on the Willamette in West Linn. Give me your number and I'll call you tomorrow afternoon.
