  1. @tbub, I have had great luck with my west marine 6.9 qr. manual pump oil extractor. It comes with a really good variety of a hose reduction system that works well for both engine and tranny applications. Having at least 2 home depo buckets ( one to keep the pump in), and several rags works for me also. Hope this helps.
  2. @robscholl-OF‌, thank you for the above post, and your return e mail. check is in the mail. hope to see you there. @richarddoane, looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday, and lessons with Seth.
  3. @JohnCox‌, good luck with your recovery. Hope your back skiing as soon as you are able.
  4. @tbub, a get up is an exercise in relaxation. Relax every muscle except your fingers. Ask for a medium or medium-firm get up. Almost close your eyes, and breath out, let your self be pulled a little foreword, and allow your knees to be pulled up to your chest. Apply more front foot pressure than rear foot.
  5. @bthelander, whoa, if you primarily ski behind a mirage 26', you may want to demo the freelander after all, among a couple of the others. (Note the m.b. ad, standing with the golden gate in the background). Don't be so set on a 67", vs. a 69". You are on the low side of the 69"' but at 17y.o., and 6'2", pushing 190, you may be putting on a few pounds in the future. Don't count out learning the course either. I wish I learned the course when I was young.
  6. @bethelander, 2nd what goodskier said. Skip the freelander and go to the tx. 69" for your size. You will enjoy the higher performance range and overall fun factor in the long run.
  7. Without any experience, I do think that waterski competitions are very different than higher exposures, like golf, and that there is plenty room, for multiple formats with the pros, like big dog. The more the merrier.
  8. Should be so uncontroversial, that it be off the radar.
  9. She has graceful, strong, and relaxed competence. I would love to take lessons from the am facility sometime.
  10. Went from about 4,@ 30,-15 to 4,@ 32, -15. My goal is to get 6 @ 32,-15, get consistent at it, and get full passes at -22.
  11. First, though was bagging topsoil and helping customers at my dad's shop.
  12. Worked at a a parking and car rental business near the airport parking customers cars, washing rental cars and shuttling customers to and from the airport on the weak ends, while in high school. Pretty cool as a 16 year old to park all the different variety of cars. Did the same at a larger rental/ parking company a couple years later during summers from college. Worked part time as a life guard at the college pool after getting my water safety instructors. After college, insurance claims with same company until I retired.
  13. @gator, exciting Video & perspective. my guess is the shorter the line, the farther up on the boat the skier is in the turns. Good luck with your recuperating.
  14. @gottaski, please my comment in the column of "ski recommendation". Thanks.
  15. I messed up... I meant to post the above to @gottaski in his " best course learning ski for 30mph". Will make a note to him in that colum.
  16. @Cumby85‌, the latest generation triumph, IMO. Stable, reliable, and pretty fast. ( with the steps) I would love to try the new tx sl also, as well as the cx sl.

  18. Got a 30, -15 full pass today. It's on. Thanks bruce b.
  19. @Edbrazil‌, I was parking cars and washing rental cars around that time as a 16 year old. I liked the new cam. Fast back because there were fewer windows to clean. They power braked really well too. Doors weighed a ton and would sometimes sag. Good times.
  20. Have been a little inconsistent this winter and spring, and not up to my progress of last summer, but yesterday I got 12 out of 12 full passes at 28, -15, which I think is a first for me. Going up to the course lake again today, and will try to get a 30 or two. Thanks to the other members for the help and coaching.
  21. @HR6Hurricane, I think your ideas are good, including getting lake residents involved, with as many as possible politely and calmly stating the reasons at the city counsel meetings to keep the current policies unchanged. Good luck.
  22. @erik4c, go cougs! (Class of 79). Have skied many times with g. Tate. Congratulations on your accomplishments.
