  1. I went from a Connelly Concept (94) to a 67"D3 Nomad and went from being stuck at 2-3@28 off to running it back to back on the first set on the Nomad. I am about 200lb as well, my next ski was a 68 Nomad rcx and then a used 67" X7. I felt the same as you on other brands, could turn them but not accelerate through the wakes.

I have skied on Quests, Fusion, both Helixs and the Arc. I think you should try a newer D3 as well as they just seem so user friendly straight up. I think my favourite was probably the X7 but the new Arc certainly felt very good. There are a lot of D3's around here and they have a reputation for skiing well straight up, other brands obviously ski well too but seem to take longer to adapt too and more setting up.

That's my two bobs worth. Good luck

You asked whether the Quest was more a 36 ski than say an X7.

I don't think any were designed to be a slower speed ski than another. I think @skibrain would confirm that.

  2. I've just spent my second day on a 66.5 production ski, I put my front binding on 30" as suggested, fin is as it came, probably10 degree wing angle,

Skied some 28 at 34 to start with, probably felt better at 32, but happy with 28 as well, today I ran the 32 and 35 on first attempt.

I also went and did some passes at 28/36 and really liked the way it came around on the onside, I've got work to do on offside, probably me more so than the ski.

Very impressed with the first few sets. I'm reluctant to adjust anything, it seems to be doing a great job as is!

  3. I skied 2 sets yesterday, first set on my H1, then put bindings and my fin into the Arc, first 2 passes felt a little weird but once I got my body position right I ran through 28,32,35 and 3@38 same as I had on the first set, very impressed and felt like I could and should have gone further. Was stable and predictable but still got that burst of speed I love in the H1. Have tried Quests and the H2 but liked and felt right at home on the Arc.
  4. Went to service a 2010 Lxi the other day, no fuel filter to be seen, enquired with the local dealer who told me they are an unserviceable set up in the fuel tank. It is an Australian built boat with the 350 Monsoon engine.

Can anyone shed any light on this set up? Seems strange, my 07 LX had the paper cartridge type filter in top of tank.

    Thanks.

  5. Hi, I have moved from a X7 to a H1, the first two sets I skied good scores but find it less consistent and harder to be in the sweet spot, when it is I love it. After reading this thread I moved my bindings back a slot and it feels like I have moved more weight over the front of the ski, it feels like a shorter ski though and twitchy in the turns. @Horton did you make any fin adjustments afterwards?
