  1. I have been using the optimized due to my elbows for a couple of years. I took a set on the new X series that I gave my son. It was just one set but I really liked the improved connection and swing through the second whitewash. I'll have to dig out the new S series I bought as well. Nice work, Scott.
  2. @liquid d Ha! It depends on how they managed the slack line. In reality, a skier usually did fine because it started at 70 and the dropped to something low on the display.
  3. There was nothing wrong with ZO, it was actually the ProStar’s screen unit, so it was a MasterCraft problem. New screen and the problem was fixed.
  4. So not a single one of the guys that ran 4@41 yesterday got more than 2.5@39 in round two, all going down early. This is how conspiracy theories begin.
  5. Charlie Ross posted 5@41. Has he gotten a full 4 or 5 in a tournament before?
  6. Would be fun to watch, but alas, no webcast. You would think the Masters would have the budget to webcast the LCQs, which would help with the buildup to the main event. The tournament info says the top finishers with the single highest score. Does anyone know how they set up tiebreakers for the LCQs if there is a log jam?
  7. My younger son tried my optimized line at 15 off/32 and 34 last year. He hated it, saying the boat was not there for him. I gave him a fresh stiffer line and all was well. I like the optimized, and for grins took a pass at 15 off for the first time in years. I could really feel the bungee effect, not fun. At shorter lengths it feels fine. @Horton you should ski some 15 off when you do your comparison.
  8. Swiss Pro, the official start of summer!
  9. @Horton Caldwell raises a good question. Do you always keep a ski on the sidelines, completely unridden for over a month in some cases, before taking a set in order to keep your progress on an existing review uninterrupted?
  10. I’m willing to bet that you have been hitting refresh on the UPS tracking link like it was a slot machine.
  11. @Horton we need the Adam’s to make a profit so they can stay in business. Just type in your credit card number and magically one will appear at your door. It’s just one ski, what is one ski going to hurt? Besides, the joy it will bring you will make the cost the last thing on your mind. Imagine if you ran 39 this May.
  12. @Slalom Sue they already gave you a great list of skis. The only thing to add is that you should generally replace your rope every year. It’s like the impeller in the boat’s water pump, it’s not worth saving a few bucks on an impeller or a rope to get more use out of it. Similarly, if your handle has wear, fraying, etc., get a new one at the same time.
  13. If you are in Austin, try to get to Trent Finlayson near San Marcos. He can tell you what fundamentals to emphasize. Then plan to go back to him again as time and budget allow.
  14. For those that are unaware, @MarcusBrown does this type of analysis (not always with a drone, typically footage from the boat) on the twice monthly calls he and Jenny have with FlowPoint Method members, and you can ask him questions as he does it. Additionally, he analyzes your skiing for you. There is more to FPM than just getting fit.
  15. I think we are going to pull ours out. Feel free to send me a PM.
  16. First, I’m not named Adam. I took my first two sets on the ski today, sets 7 and 8 for the season. The ski rips, it’s that simple. I skied the C75 and that thing was a blast, I could get away with crap like no other ski and run passes I shouldn’t have. I still won’t sell it. The C85 was a smoother and more refined ski. I actually skied both in one set, running pass number 8 on the C85 and smoother was the appropriate description. I posted on BoS that the C85 felt like I bought a new offside turn. It did take some binding and fin adjustment to find the best spot, but all felt good. If I had to describe the C95, the often used term of “less work” seems most appropriate. This feels like I kept the offside I got on the C85, improved it, and now I have picked up a much better onside. I don’t feel the need to tweak the bindings or the fin, but won’t hesitate to do so if either Adam recommends it. The space coming from an onside turn was awesome, but it also felt easier to create space from my offside lean. On the first set, I topped what I put up on the C85 this season by a buoy. On the second set, I wasn’t even thinking about the ski, I just went and skied great. My wife commented after the fist set that she thinks I’m going to be very happy with the ski just from watching from shore. I trust her judgement. Some guy on the dock asked about the ski, and started to pick it up. Most of you would understand if I throat punched him, but a court of law may not. I quickly and politely put a stop to it with no need for law enforcement. The next time may be different.
  17. @MISkier I was thinking the same thing. You have been a prolific contributor. @MI_Skier long time readers thank you.
  18. @Horton I recall @Adam Caldwell’s comments about controlling his head, especially as Joel enters the first whitewash off of 2/4.
  19. Neilly’s trick run looked slower and perhaps cautious than others I have seen. Maybe water conditions were bad enough to go for the lay up, but I don’t know enough about tricks to know if those passes had some no credits due to the judges.
  20. Doing maintenance yourself will save you enough money to buy a new ski every few years.
  21. You may benefit from changing the distributor cap, rotor, and potentially the plugs and wires. See if you have information on the last time oil, fuel filters, and the belt were changed. If not recently, change those in addition to the impeller. Fuel filters should be replaced every year along with the impeller. The advice on the steering cable was solid. If you got it from a dealer, they may have done some of this, but maybe not.
  22. Perfect boat for those who can’t get a date.
  23. It’s the fact that most public water is unskiable during most hours when people are hanging out on a lake outside of dedicated vacation time. That makes it hard to be introduced to the sport. Collegiate skiing is the source of new blood, but finding good water when starting a career is not easy in aggregate. Yes, it can be done, but it’s not easy.
  24. I was speaking with a portfolio manager that has one of the publicly traded boat makers in their portfolio. I asked about the impact of interest rates and consumer financing on the company’s sales expectations, and he told me that approximately 70% of sales were paid for with cash.
  25. Your wife hears the music playing in Terry Winter Quarter Speed and knows what you are watching. She's a skier too, so she stops what she is doing and watches.
