  1. @Andre, it was the rowing club and from the information through the link below it looks like they were out in rough conditions. https://www.news.iastate.edu/news/2021/09/13/crewreviewsummary
  2. Radar has their settings going back for years on their website.
  3. @vtmecheng bummer, sometimes you just have to move on.
  4. @vtmecheng, if you call her and leave a voice mail, I would bet that she calls you back.
  5. I recommend a fin firkin and a ski tog from SIA or oversized ski case. Buy a case bigger than your ski so it goes over the firkin.
  6. @ColeGiacopuzzi thanks! I did the math, the time difference is only about 0.25 seconds from 34.2, but it’s amazing how that can change a pass. That is, after all, about the time it takes for the brain to recognize a visual stimulus.
  7. Good stuff. Sure enough, the Spraymakers episode I found was the one I was thinking of. Rossi talked about learning 38 in a month with Schnitz because he dropped his speed to 34.2 and went up in 0.1 mph increments about every other day. That was not the only item, but his rate of speed change addresses the point I was seeking. I definitely don’t want a crutch or mask and when I tried a pass at 32 mph it was way too slow. As @UCFskier said, get a couple and move back up. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/spraymakers-w-rossi-and-trent/id1502568557?i=1000472747567
  8. @swbca I tend to agree, it’s the same reason I don’t mind skiing in wind. I should have been more clear that I am trying to learn and make the pass consistent (edited above). I have run it more than a dozen times, but the sun needs to be shining on me just right, and a dozen is just not very often.
  9. For those of you that had success softening speed for a line length you were trying to learn and (edit) make more consistent, how quickly did you work back up to max speed? For example, did you run the pass once or twice and then creep closer to max or did you get consistent with more than a few passes before increasing? I’m having success with dropping to 33.7 but don’t want to linger there and build a dependency. (…and I just thought to search the Spraymakers podcast before hitting “post discussion”, sure enough, there is an episode in season 1 that I will have to listen to again. Regardless, I’m still interested in what worked for others.)
  10. I peeled off all the goofy safety stickers, so now my boat obviously isn’t as dangerous. Hope it sells, that’s a sharp pro star.
  11. Don’t forget to tip your instructors/counselors at Coble’s!
  12. We have a club member that dropped speed. He’s having more fun now, and that’s the point of all this.
  13. @ReallyGottaSki , that’s great to hear. The boat looks fantastic. Friends recently replaced the stringers in an old Supra. I think he said “honey, I think I just drilled through the hull” but all was repairable and they are still happily married.
  14. This is awesome. Any stories that are funny now that were not when they happened? I can’t imagine how many things I would have done that would have elicited foul language.
  15. To @MattP’s point, I have played with different letter settings on ZO since using the ML Opt line. That wasn’t what triggered me to mess around with settings, but I wonder if a more controlled rebound is one reason I have liked the change.
  16. @ALPJr, I picked up a Core at @perfski It is a super nice vest. Stokes is also a great option if your size is available.
  17. I have one for my 200. It works. It’s not necessary but if you have different sized skiers and don’t want to move the clamp from a certain sweet spot it saves the hassle of wrenching. I never left the mount in place, so I already had the wrench out and think I have only used the height adjuster once or twice. I have not used my boom in years, so if you want one, I’m happy to sell you my height adjuster. Let me know if you plan to go to any of the Ohio tournaments or the collegiate home tournament.

    New Trailer

Phoenix, solid trailer and awesome service after the sale. We used to ski a site with a very steep ramp. Phoenix made me a set of extra high boat guides. The guy working on the shop floor called me to get a measurement on my trailer to make sure he got them right.
  19. I was too young with Howard, I just remember the voice.
  20. @horton, he’s working hard and brings a strong energy. The job needs that. He has character, like Howard Cosell. Many loved Howard and many didn’t because he brought character to the job. He may be more of a boarder than a skier, but Dano does fine by me and I bet I’m not alone in that sentiment.
  21. Pros will be on this page: https://www.masterswaterski.com/masters-standings-elimination
  22. On the Masters website under results https://www.masterswaterski.com/juniors-standings-finals Charlie skied lights out in the finals.
  23. Best Dano comment so far, “looks like his shin got caught up in that buoy.”
