  1. Freddy Krueger did two installation videos:
  2. With those blades running down the lake your fish are cleaned as you drive down the lake, perhaps bringing new meaning to “fish’n’ski” boats.
  3. @Shell and @lpskier are clearly more sensible than I am. I just slice off callouses with a pocket knife.
  4. I have gone the opposite route from skibrain and no longer use anything under my glove. Previously, I used Kevlar glove liners, but I found the additional material led to bunching and more callouses. I rotate between Kevlar-palmed gloves and the soft, thin Miami Nautique gloves. I tend to hold the handle just a bit differently with each and that saves some wear on my hands. Just start trying some different gloves to see what works.
  5. @Horton have you settled on settings?
  6. I have only owned one other boat. The owner seems to be taking great care of her. Every other year or so he may text me a picture when he puts her away for the season. She still looks like new for a 25 year old boat and his kids are always smiling on the water. He will get the first phone call if I ever decide to sell my current boat.
  7. @Horton, Once her friends see her ski, she tells them it is even more fun than tubing, and you tell them that you can teach them, you’ll have a great time hosting an impromptu kids’ clinic.
  8. @Horton, It’s not my ProStar, and I probably would not sell it if it was. I just always loved the Stars & Stripes, that one looks awesome, and then I saw the California location and seemed to recall that you always wanted one.
  9. @LeonL good point, it seems to be both. The interwebs have posts about Fantastik from the 2007 timeframe. I also remember vinyl changes in recent years that had many wondering about the pink mold growing on their seats.
  10. There was a formula change in Fantastik about ten plus years ago and the boat manufacturers started listing Fantastik directly in the manual as a do not use product. My 2012 manual says (their emphasis), “DO NOT use Formula 409 Cleaner, Fantastik or any silicone-based products.”
  11. The current boat looks great, but in a nod to the heritage of the Prostar, this one should be on a lift next to it. Good looking Stars & Stripes restoration… https://ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Boat_3Event&postid=60315
  12. My soul. I did not ski today.
  13. @ISP6ball, I don’t think it as finicky as it is tunable. Just be prepared to try different long/shallow and short/deep settings. My son skis 36 mph on a small and I skied my med C75 at 34. What works for him (short/deep/way forward) is different than what works for me (off the map long/shallow). Don’t get frustrated, just enjoy the process and learn along the way. I was running passes I should not have on settings that were less than ideal. Once dialed, I was definitely running passes I should not have. I scared the hell out of one boat judge throwing the ski around 5 before rounding 6 and heading out the gates, but the ski just works so I didn’t think twice about it. Start with the numbers from the Adams and enjoy the new ski and setting it up. Congratulations on your next PB.
  14. Does anyone know if Dane Mechler is skiing the tournament? I saw him listed in the TWBC audience pick list but not fantasy ski. Given how well he has been skiing, it would be a shame if he can’t make it.
  15. After experiencing an apocalypse that was was sweat pants and TP shortages vs full Mad Max, I’m pretty sure that video is exactly what the alien invasion and the fight for humanity will be.
  16. @BobF sure, Adam Cord had me bump forward when I first went short/deep, but only a bit and I haven’t moved it back stock. When I went long/shallow I went to 0.87 2.49 6.90 7.
  17. Because Horton has a long to do list and won’t be posting his review anytime soon, I can share my experience. I’m six sets in on the C85 and may have mentioned in the new ski thread, the C85 rocks. I love my C75 and won’t sell it - back up ski - but I feel like I have a new offside with the C85. I started with stock settings - good - then boots a micro-just forward - better. Next was shorter/deeper, more angle, but could be better. Tried long/shallow like I ran my C75… awesome. This ski has a tip down attitude that just keeps the ski moving. I also feel like it is almost harder for me to get stuck on the tail, and if I do get back on the tail, I can come off of it pretty easily. Definitely worth the upgrade and the potential hit to marital bliss I took by placing the order on Mother’s Day, (No, the Mrs. was not upset.)
  18. It has been a few years. Last time FedEx was very pricey, but USPS was about $30.
  19. I’m only four sets in and loving it. So far, my offside turns are money and turns overall are smoother. Coming from the 2019 C75.
  20. @keithh2oskier there were three flex options, but the shape was consistent. Standard/Record/Insanity for use with shorter lines as flex changes.
  21. @Cooper_Trelawney that is cool to hear that you see that on your water. I paid $50 for these epoxy-filledjumpers so I could teach new skiers without having to use crappy combos. I also used to have my kids stand in front of my bindings for a faster ride than the near idle speed they were going on their own at age 4. That definitely helped hook them on the sport.
  22. I have a pair of the same MasterCraft jumpers, although mine have quite a bit of wear and some epoxy. I would never let anyone take them over the ramp given their condition, but generally speaking, how old is too old for jumpers?
  23. I wonder how many of the boats listed on SIA are actually still available. The list is thin already.
