My wife taking a set during out yearly trip to Lake Norris in TN. This year we brought a portable course and found a cove with a decent shoreline. Kids made a ton of progress.

Hey Ballers, My family and some friends heading to Norris lake in TN tomorrow. We will be dropping a portable course in the Big Sycamore Creek (little sycamore branch cove) Area this weekend and will pull it next Thursday. Stop by for a set if you happen to be vacationing or live close. I have a Blue, Black and white Ski 200.

Several years ago, my wife and I were in the same boat (see what I did there?). We bought a 2003 nautique 206. I has the walkthrough OB but is a foot longer than most Tournament slalom boats of its era. It did everything, course ski, foot, wakeboard (sacked), surfed, learn to ski, cruise, etc. At the time I was the only course skier skiing at 34. Since the whole family has started skiing the course, we just bought a ski 200 OB. So, I would consider the 206 as something to consider in addition to the Malibu DD with a wedge. Second the don't buy a v-drive. You will slow the kids development as a wakeaboarder as they will not be aggressive to the wake when it is too big.

I did reset battery. I pulled the wiring harness of the head unit behind the linc computer. I am getting proper voltage based on ZO schematic so probably a bad head unit. Alll other functions related to the antenna are working. Nautique sending a new head unit to my local dealer as soon as I get warranty transfer verification. Just waiting, and waiting and waiting......

I took the kick place off and the wiring harness from the dongle is not plugged in to anything. Here are the three dead ends to the wiring harness. Any idea of how to hook them up or am I missing a separate harness. I don't see and obvious place to hook them up.

Contacted the local MC dealer so hopefully they can help. Their service department is dramatically better than our local nautique dealer.

I just purchased a 2016 nautique team OB with the linc system. Zero off will not allow me to adjust speed (when on or off) and does not engage when throttled up and on. Spoke with tech support about it and there is concern for unit not communicating with Linc. Diagnostic page does not recognize any ZO software, serial number, etc. anyone have this issue? Any advice? Local nautique dealer (who mainly work on pigs) can’t look at it until August. Help. Want to ski my new boat!!!

We have a '03 nautique 206. It can do everything (Slalom course or open water, barefoot, wakeboard, trick, booze cruise, etc), but does nothing perfect. Wake is soft but bigger than the 196 for slower slalom speeds. With the boat weighted, the wake has been described as "juicy" by some local wakeboarders.

@fu_man we do not have this system in place yet. we are still doing baseline testing of our water quality and sediment. One of the issues with our lake is that it is so turbid that not even EM can grow. we have a few areas of lillies but that is about it once wave action from boats starts around this time of year. We are considering this as an option as this could eat up the muck on the bottom without having to dredge. John gave us a very loose quote of $500,000 for a 300 acre lake. We estimate a dredge would be over $2 million. The middle of our lake has 10-15 feet of sediment if not more. Once we have our series of tests done this summer, we will formulate a more formal plan and start raising funds.

he will set up compressor stations around the lake. A small slalom lake would probably only require one station for a few aerators. We have a 300 acre lake so John estimated 75 aerators with 3-5 pump stations around lake. We have two homeowners associations that would need to foot the bill. The part I find interesting is how the bacteria the base of the food chain and fishery which adds to the overall recreational use of the lake. i know some have considered solar power but may be inconsistently powered

I am in NE Ohio and we are considering lake-savers.com out of Michigan. John Tucci has developed a system that greatly reduces Eurasion Milfoil without chemical treatments. He uses aeration with bacteria introduction to reduce the muck, phosphorus, etc that EM needs to thrive. lake-savers.com

I have a '03 Nautique 206. Gives a little extra room with a walk through open bow. We course ski, barefoot, wakeboard, teach newbies, etc. It is a great crossover that does not sacrifice much in the course. The wake is a little bigger at slower speeds than the 196 but it is soft. I don't see wake issues at 32 mph or faster. Obviously, the boats of this decade are superior for slalom but understanding your goals and price range, this may be an option. It's a Jack of all trades, master of none.

If you are dealing with eurasion milfoil in addition to other invasive species that grow in organic sediment, consider John Tucci from lake savers. He seems to have come up with a variation of aeration with bacteria treatment. that can help without dumping chemicals into your lake. We are considering this for our 300 acre lake, but are still doing some preliminary testing to make sure its a viable option for us. Which I expect it to be. http://lake-savers.com/

When the wakeboard sessions happen on our lake behind the v-drives, I kneeboard. I catch some hell for it, but when I'm the only guy in the boat who can invert, the heckling stops. Plus, I don't beat the crap our myself like the other middle aged guys who think they can shread. The kneeboard is also a great teaching tool to get kids comfortable behind the boat without violating my boat rule of "no inflatables ever".

I use Arthrex Fibertape in my dog ACL surgeries. I use the leftovers, to repair torn ski gloves, bindings, etc. Stuff is great material, strong and flexible even when wet.

Follow up in case anyone in the future searches for Watts Barr: I skied the watts bar course yesterday and today. For a public course it is well protected, but the south drop zone is very shallow and short which makes the set up if heading north a very slight challenge but we figured it out. The course is completely intact (no 55s) which tells me someone local gives some TLC considering it is so late in the year. The vibe of the overall lake is awesome.

considering we are going to have houses built along the shoreline where our course is, if this tech came soon, we might actually be able to save our course. less noise at 6 am

For our lake, that is one of the concerns as new construction around one of the major inflows is a couple years away. This is a concern as we will experience more storm runoff with less vegetation holding water back. This means more organic and inorganic sediment in a already shallow and turbid lake. Much of the lake shore itself is not developed and it would preferred if we could keep it that way. The only part on the lake that can be developed in the future is right by our slalom course. The rest is park. Part of our future plan is to build sediment traps in the major inflows which can be dug out every year. We are considering various options for the sediment that is already there which is includes this aeration option, dredge, etc. Still working on surverys and prelim planning as none of this is cheap and we have two different homeowners associations to work with.

He has his own patented aerator. Very low profile maybe 2-4 inches thick. The surface water appears to only be stirred with minimal "bubbling". We would welcome some plant growth. We have 3 small patches of lily pads (est 300-400 total square feet of growth).
