  1. Too many reasons to count (but ditto on what everyone has stated), but recently I have had a ton of satisfaction by introducing several skiers to the course and watching them run their first full pass and more. I even have a couple ready to trade their V-drives in for a direct drives.
  2. Service and products have been great for our family. In fact, we named our new puppy Radar.
  3. skied all my-32 clean as ever with head and tail winds. even saw 4 and 5 ball at -35 a few times thanks guys!!!
  4. not yet. I try to work on me more than the ski. Probably worth a try if I can't correct things.
  5. thanks guys. Hopefully going to ski tomorrow, so I can try to put this into practice.
  6. This is 32 off @ 34. 68" 2013 strada with Rini's settings. Any technique suggestions to stop or lessen the wheelie out of my off side turn (1,3,5)? I have been skipping the gate to make ball one a little smoother. This issue is magnified at -35. http://www.ubersense.com/video/view/ZAjoIeKO?e=917345# thanks
  7. My 7 year old took the Red Pill today. He learned to ski on one on Monday and today asked if he could ski in the course. Who am I to say no?
  8. IN NE ohio, too. I don't mind the chill and green slime too much. It keeps the tubers and wake "surfers" away.
  9. My wife wants it if has a good barefoot wake. She's a Brown's fan, but nobody is perfect.
  10. I have similar low back pain and soreness especially when I ski shorter rope lengths. Anyone wear a back brace when they ski?
  11. My wife waiting for me to get home and pull her footin' on a glassy day. Damn work!
  12. I have no doubt she will eventually ski into 32 mph, but it could take a year or two.
  13. Cost will be a slight factor, but I want something she can excel over the next few years
  14. My wife is interested in starting to ski the course. She is a barefooter so being aggressive should not be an issue. She is currently skiing the mini course on an old KD with flowers on it. She is 5' 8" 120 lbs. What are your recommendations? thanks
  15. Had three kids in the open bow with no ballast
  16. Today I had the opportunity to ski behind a 2013 Nautique 200 Sport V drive. I ski at 34 mph and can get into deeper 32 off in most sets and will usually start at 22 off. I typically ski behind a ’03 SN 206 and a ’94 SN both with PPSG. I am of the philosophy that DD boats are by far the most versatile despite the industry shift to the V-drive (let’s face it, most wakeboarders only do heelside jumps and do very little even with massive wakes... just saying). For review purposes, I started at 15 off. At -15, there is a significant wake that can be alarming at first, but with good body position across the wake is manageable (think late 80s Nautique but a little better). That said, if you are out of position, you will likely pay a price. 22 off had a lesser bump, but still significant compared to 3-event boats. 28 off was not an issue and was smooth. These passes felt great!! I did not attempt a pass at -32 as some other boats had started circling our lake. My concern at the shorter lengths would be the rope hitting the tower. Further, the pylon is removable and did not seem overly sturdy. The zero off model in this boat did not have course mapping either, so a true 34.2 is suspect. I would also be curious as to what the 26-32 mph free skier thinks about the wake. The owner of this boat used to be a show skier for Sea World and is more inclined to barefoot or wakeboard (although, I am working on turning him into a course skier, he would be a natural). I had the opportunity to pull him longline barefoot as he stepped off his flipturn for a backwards ride. The boat definitely feels larger than I am used to, but the slightly smaller open bow, tames the feel of a wakeboard boat. Acceleration felt pretty good, but it may have taken an extra second to plane off. I will need to drive it more to get a feel. Because I am used to driving older boats, getting used the gauges could take a couple more sets. The analog speedometer moves up counterclockwise – MIND BLOWN!! As for the finish of the boat, it definitely has the “WOW” factor with a nice stereo system, great interior, storage, etc that has become commonplace in the wakeboard boat sector. It looks great in the water and there is plenty of room for people which is definitely a benefit to the V-drive. Overall, this is a boat that is not perfect for anything, but can do everything pretty well. I feel the same way about my ’03 SN 206. However, the SN 206 is more 3 event friendly while, the 200V favors the board sports. This boat is a great family boat for the family focused on wakeboarding, but a slalom or barefoot set is very do-able. Our lake also has a 20 ft restriction making this a great crossover boat for our “mud puddle”. Given the opportunity to ski or drive it again, I will add to this, but it sure is pretty!! and tubing still sucks!!!! Fatroll
  17. I did telemarketing for a basement waterproofing company. This was in the day of cold calling from the phone book. Base pay was $5.00/hr but there were incentives and bonuses. I averaged $18-20/ hr. That summer, I only worked 20 hours a week which left plenty of time for the lake and had plenty of cash.
  18. I have a 2003 SN 206 with PP Star Gazer. I slalom at 34 mph from -15 to -35 without issue. Some of my buddies with more slalom specific boats (ie 197, 196, etc) not a more significant bump at 15 and 22 off. I would say I notice it too, but it is a softer bump than the others. At slower speeds, the wake is definitely larger for my wife than some of the TSC1 hulls she gets to ski behind (but TSC1 is a tough hull to beat) For board sports, we use fat sacs to augment the wake. The top wakeboarder on our lake loves it. My wife is a barefooter and the boom extension is not necessary to get her out of the spray. We had a neighbor surf behind (but this was not a situation of safe distribution of weight) and has never pulled a tube. The extra space is great for our family (3 sons). So, while it is not the perfect slalom boat, it is the perfect boat for our family. Having skied behind many different 197s, I would say the bump at -15 can be pretty hard, but it is small. Skis great 22 and shorter. Have not skied the Malibu.
  19. I agree with @kmenard. While I have taught countless kids over the years, I still had my oldest son learn from a ski buddy. The young kids tend to provide less drama for anyone who is not their parent. On the flip side, during our learn to ski/foot sessions my wife and I have, we ask the parents to not speak or react to their child until they are back in the boat. Its a little harsh, I know, but there is far less drama and chatter.
  20. Just some open water in NE Ohio. Hope to have the course in by the weekend.
  21. I bought the PTM, Love it.
  22. Looking to upgrade the mirror on my 2003 SN 206. Any suggestions or reviews? Thanks
