  1. @jimski We ski at 10:30 on the south end New Years day and beat the rain. The plan was to ski tomorrow morning but 2 degrees is a little cold for me. The lake is sure low for this time of year.
  2. New years day ski up here at Shawnigan Lake BC. Mid 40s air Great way to start the year.
  3. @ShaneH is that the same Randy Dorton that built motors for Hedrick motor sports and was killed in a plain crash going to Martinsville?
  4. Thanks @richarddoane, I need to try that. I'm good in the high single digit Celsius but below 6 my hands loose feeling. Some microwave gel waterproof gloves would be great if they existed.
  5. Skied today on glass here is south western Canada. Air and water 40 degrees f. Someone needs to make a winter water ski glove. Hands are the only real problem. Merry Christmas fellow ballers.
  6. If the product works as claimed it would be great for ski gloves for winter skiing. The water evaporation normally makes your hands too cold. Any one tried this?
  7. @Horton To drain your lake did the water get pumped to the adjacent lakes? That is a ton of water to deal with or was it just left to evaporate over a long period of time? Congratulations, a skier dream.
  8. @MattP I like to read posts like that. Someone finishing top in their age group nationally training behind a 20 year old boat. That is good hear for our sport!!!
  9. I was hoping as well to hear if the 2014 model skied noticeably better or not. Have anyone skied the 2013 and 2014?
  10. Unless Malibu stopped this year, you can order a closed or open bow Response. There is a 2013 for sale on SIA. 90 inch beam 2450 pounds and a great ski wake. Not sure why Mastercraft and Nautique does not do the same thing. The R&D is paid for years ago.
  11. I always put a trouble light with a 40 watt bulb in the engine box. Besides keeping the temperature above freezing I believe it keeps the moisture out of that compartment. The motor never has moisture on it so internally it should be the same. The boat is in a garage.
  12. When you ski at a public lake you do not live at, boat rollers, wind, chop, fog, and rain is just part of skiing. There are lots of good condition sets but it's a roll of the dice what you are going to get.
  13. Sunny and warm for October here on Vancouver Island BC. Skied on glass today in a Bare ultra dry baggy suit. Boat will go home last of October or first weekend of November. Once daylight savings is over its not worth leaving the boat on the lift. Can't ski after work and November is often pretty wet. Time then to take four months off.
  14. A 30 liter gas can costs $40 to fill here and 6 skier can go on that fuel. I would rather have $10 as I like to keep my fuel weight low. My boat does sit on a lift. First time skier free.
  15. I second that thought. How much does a driver or spotter charge you when you want to ski and you need a crew. $10 more than covers the gas the boat burns in a set and i'm happy with that. On the flip side I ask the boat owner what I can contribute as this poll has been taken a number of times and what is does show is people feel very differently about what they want. Most of the guys I ski with own their own boats and we just alternate. I keep track so I make sure I contribute my fair share with my boat.
  16. Y@DW the back seat is never in and I have a max of 6 imperial gallons in the tank. I have heard of a hook being added to a the death star but not any other hull types. As I said the wake very skiable but rather than straighten the prop I would go new if it would improve the long line wake by a very noticeable amount. It seems that not many ballers have had or do have a Malibu Euro f3 or Skier and tried different new props?
  17. @ DW It has the factory bronze 3 blade. It does have a slight bend in one of the blade tips ( boat came that way). The 15/22 wake is not bad and have had compliments from others who have skied behind it but if new prop technology would make a noticeable softer or smaller wake I would change. Would you say your wake improvement was significant or subtle?
  18. @nam1975. How does your 15/22 response wake compared to the 98 Nautique ?
  19. I have a 1994 Malibu Euro f3 and was wondering if anyone has had success with upgrading to a newer cnc 3 or 4 blade prop to soften the 15/22 off wake or reduce the rooster tail on this hull? The 28 off wake and shorter are great and 15/22 off are better than the Sportser I also ski behind but not as good as the 98 tsc1. The current prop is the factory 3 blade.
  20. @brody sorry to be a little off topic but how to you find your -15 and -22 off wake compared to a tsc1 hull( the other boat I ski behind). I have a Malibu Euro f3 and wondered about the diamond cut hull. My -28 is great -15 and-22 is good but could be better. Thanks.
  21. @OB and @Ebrazil Thanks for the explanation. That is what I thought it would be like but was not sure. It must be really tight to get the skier out of the course and turn the boat.
  22. How does an 8 ball course work. I'm sure it has been covered before so a link would be fine.
