  1. What theory's and practices are misunderstood or should not be followed from West Coast Slalom? Could Terry or Marcus comment on that? I thought the video was great and felt I could see some of the top skier using that form. Am I wrong? Did I not read a post not too long ago that Terry was one of the best skiers for his size?
  2. @horton, I did watch the videos. They did help to learn how to use the sight.Great web site. Thanks for doing it!
  3. @richarddoane-Thanks for the input. How deep can you go with the stronger magnets and how deep can you go with standard magnets?
  4. @ Leopold I have been watching sia and there are dbw stargazer mastermodules from people going to zero off and classic modules from people going to stargazer/zbox but you just don't see stargazer servo motor modules with multline displays.Magnets are under $20 each so I am going to try that for a year and is they get cut off too often by the other lake users I'll look into going into new stargazer no magnet timing which does come now with the new modules.$500 for the module $200 for the display.
  5. @ Leopold You need a multiline display and a master module that comes with a gps receiver. I can see SG being a big advantage if you drive for a lot of differant skiers but is if it's mostly a few ski partners and you know their ski weights to get good times, is a little input between skier a big deal? Do skiers notice a few hundereds off of exact times? If you do upgrade my ski partner has a 98 196 and may want to buy your old display.
  6. @ Ham Wallace Thanks for the reply. I am interested in the 5.0 chip could you please email me @ dldals@shaw.ca what you want for it or post here. My times were in tolerance but second segment was faster than the first with no way to adjust with 4.0 What speedcontrol system are you using and are you happy with it?
  7. Is it Sprout Lake? I didn't see the Marrs bomber but I'm guessing that was that clue.
  8. Can anyone tell me at what software number perfectpass dropped their one mph increments? Do you need the chip removal tool or does it just make it easier? Thanks
  9. @bbirlew I'm on the island too and ski @ Shawnigan Lake. Where do you ski? My ski partner did not wear a wetsuit yesterday but said the water had a bite to it.I don't mind a wet or dry suit, I'd rather be warm.
  10. Skiing is still great in BC Canada. Skied last night, calm water on a pubic lake. The air and water temp was comfortable in a shorty.First rain we have had since July here.
  11. With all the chip upgrades, new displays, stargazer and now zbox there must be a lot of component collecting dust on shevles. I have a first generation module that works great but I want to put magnets in the course and my module only has a phone jack for the hand timer.I know I can alter a smart timer cord to get power and ground but was wondering if anyone has a : 1) pro or digital pro mastermodule 2) 5.0 program chip ( mine is 4.0 with one mph increments {which 6.5 does not have} but it does not have second segment balance) 3) remote display with beeper( I prefer the remote display for my boat but my first gen. underlines but does not beep) 4) smart timer If anyone wants to sell there non used componants could you please email me @ dldals@shaw.ca ps I was thinking of going stargazer with no magnet timing but got the impression most people prefered classic. Am I wrong?
  12. Just skied a pb this morning, 5 @ 22 off 34mph in a small chop.Happy to gain 6 balls this year but would like to complete the pass. Boats will stay on the lifts until the end of day light savings then there is no point as it is dark after work. The lake rarely freezes here in Victoria Canada, the lifts and course stays in year around.
  13. Not all of Canada is the frozen north. In Victoria BC We ski though all of day light savings. Late March through early November. Some of the best skiing is early and late in the year as the water is calm.
  14. Found a Joel Wing instructional video @ Barts. Any good?
  15. Is there any good instructional video for trick. West coast slalom is excellent for chasing balls.I am looking for a trick dvd to get a good foundation.
  16. Do you know someone with the same master module you could switch with to see if it is the module or something connected to it or voltage problem ?
  17. Thanks razerskier1.When you attach a second line for the magnet, does it go to the boat guide as well to suspend the magnet or is there another way to hold it up?
  18. The other option to getting 8.0 module for no magnet timing would be to install magnets in the pubic course but both the turn balls and boat guides get cut off by non skiers using the course. Have people had success in mounting magnets in a manner they don't get damaged or cut off? As I said a hand timer works ok but I'm looking for a way to make it easier for people who drive the boat for me. If they forget to press the hand timer the pass is @ pregate speed which is half a mile per hour slow.
  19. Thanks for the reply Razerskier1. I am disappointed to hear stargazer does not work well for trick as a do a little tricking. How long does it take to settle in? I just trick once in a while for a change up to slalom? Also do you know of any good trick intructional DVDs.
  20. We have seen many posts on how the Zbox in working and how to set it up but I don't think I"ve seen one on the new 8.0 software change without the box.Are skiers staying with classic unless they go to the Zbox? If not, how is the update. Is it more than just gps no magnet timing. Also I use the hand timer only with classic as it is a pubic course and there are no magnets. It seems to work well as the times repeat. How many others are doing this?
  21. To get back on topic I ski on a CDX-1 through mid 22 off and was asking if an S2 would make a big differance in my skiing at this point. I know the cdx is capable of deep short line. What have other BOS skiers found with the upgrade @ my level? Does stargazer WITH OUT zbox give a better pull than classic. I get times in tolerance with classic and quite happy to put in skier and crew weights.Only really thinking of changing for no magnet timing as we use the hand timer but it is really no big deal.... What are your thoughts?
  22. usaski1,I live in Canada where Perfectpass can still pull tournaments and only go in one or two a year so I was not interested in Zbox $2000 was for a S2 blank, perfectpass stargazer module and multi line display. Thank you for your comment.
  23. I ski into mid 22off 34 mph on a good day and ski on a HO CDX-1. I know good skiers ski deep shortline with this ski. I am wondering if upgrading to a S2 would improve my skiing or I need to be a better skier to take advantage of the new ski? I also use perfectpass classic and get times in tolerance. Is there any real advantantage to going to Stargazer at this level? I know there will be some advantages but does it justify $2000
  24. I did not see a comment how much change the diamond hull in 98 made on the Malibu. I am also interested on how noticable the wake change was.
  25. Thanks davemac. I would love to see a picture of your setup if you could email it to me @ dldals@shaw.ca I was thinking of building a camera mount for my 94 Malibu Euro F3.
