  1. @thager Sorry did not even know I did that . When I pulled the screen down on my touch screen smart phone I must have done that by mistake. I believe I have corrected that.
  2. Is there builders other than the big four getting back into production of good direct drive slalom boats?
  3. http://www.mirageboats.com/waterski.htm It is listed on their current web site. I have never heard of it. Just curious what it was like.
  4. I see Mirage makes a direct drive ski boat.Has anyone skied behind one and if so how are they?
  5. They do still sell them. They are only $30.
  6. I just received my Wakeye set up for a shock tube and video camera. My vote should be " plan to video once a week or more. In the past it has been a couple of times a year do to no camera person. I do beleive it is a great training tool.
  7. It is not true that magnets and pick-ups are only for timing, the system holds back 27 % 0f skier added rpm until it goes through the enterance gates and at ball three it adjusts for second segment ballance. When we free ski we set skier weight at 125 %.. If you just press the hand timer the gate % will drop out in a short period of time if it does not get the other inputs. Not doing this step will slow speeds down 1/2 a mile per hour if that matters to you.
  8. Would filling in the space on the original bracket without the shock tube accomplish the same thing?
  9. Is there a western Canadian or north western US distributor for Wakeye or is it best to order direct? Can you use any shock tube or do you need a specific size?
  10. 6.5 ng is mulity line display. 6.5n is single line. Don't forget to add 27% or the skier wieght if you are not triggering the module at the start gate with a smart or hand timer to make up for the gate %
  11. I want to purchase a camera mount for a video camera not a smart phone. Has anyone used both the trakker and wakeye products and what are the pros and cons of each? Thanks for the input.
  12. Thanks to the people that made this web cast happen. With very little waterski coverage it is great they make the effort. Being able to watch archived coverage is a big plus as most of us can not sit and watch real time. How can you complain when it is free. Keep it coming!
  13. I'm 6'4" 185 thinking about getting an s2 and wonder the same thing. What are the pros and cons for ski size at 34 mph, 15 to 28 off
  14. Some of the older systems will allow you to set your gate % ,the newer diital pro it is inbedded in the programing. If you press your hand timer after you reach set speed you will see how much rpm was held back.
  15. You should be able to do a system reset and choice three event mode. This allows you to enter crew and skier weight to give a more accurate speed. Also when free skiing or course sking and not timing you need to add 25% on to the skier weight to off set the gate %
  16. I was wondering the same thing myself A3 verses S2 for a 34 mph skier. Hoping there would be some skiers respond who have tried both.
  17. Speedweeks goes on for almost two weeks. There are 150 to 200 000 people coming down for the racing not only @ this track but dirt races in the area ect that have down time to fill.If there was times when Lake Llody was calm enough to compete people may get exposed to a sport they may never otherwse go to see.Lots of tv cameras to catch the action.
  18. This would be a great location for a pro tour stop during speedweeks. The exposer to the sport would be fantastic! Possible national or international tv spot.I was thinking about this for the last few days, funny this post showed up. Jeff Gordon use to compete, good tie in for tv coverage.Get him out for a set.
  19. @Ed_Johnson No remote but it is touch screen so you can slow motion and frame advance on tv from that. A remote would be great but most don't seem to come with one now. It has digital image sabilization which seemed to work well watching the video. They have been on sale here $70 off for $329 with two batteries and a case. 16 gig internal memory and you can add a card, 40x optical zoom.
  20. These images were captured from video on a JVC Everio GZ-EX250 . You can frame advance capture edit and save a photo. It is also wifi equiped so your video could be sent to a computor or smart phone from the boat if you had wifi @ your site (have not tried this feature) With a rca cable you can watch video on your big screan tv real time, slow motion and frame advance. It also allows you to shoot in slow motion. I think this is going to be a good training tool....Pictures taken in Victoria BC Canada. It's not so cold up here.
  21. I should read my comment before posting but you get the idea.
  22. Has anyone put a 383 or 427 in a Malibu sportster? That work be a fun rocket.
  23. Brought the boat home yesterday. Rain in the forecast for 12 of the next 14 days. It was great a week ago buts its done now in south west Canada
  24. Skied today, water 52 air 56 in Victoria B.C. Only boat on the lake.Mild fall but lots of rain in the last few weeks.
  25. In Canada I believe perfectpass can still pull any tournament. In the USA is Zero Off required for even club tournaments and if not at what level is it required? Am I wrong fellow Canadians?
