  1. We ski behind a 92 and 97 Prostar. Both power slots. Wakes are similar. Carb'd 92 is slightly softer and handles better in the turns. LT1 97 tracks slightly better and has less spray. We are spoiled. To me both ski a little better than SN 196 from -15 to -32. 196 is a real nice boat too. Either way you'll do well.
  2. I guessed 38. I actually have the program from the 77 Berkeley Nat's on my PC. My long time coach David Spencer won Men 1 overall that year. Two of my three favorite ski sites - Spencer's, and Berkeley - and of course my current fav Jacks.
  3. I would not count out the 94 MC 190. Perhaps their best slalom wake till the '14 MC came out. Quality construction and great looking too IMO. Only shortcoming is there will be spray from -38 on. Which engine - standard 5.7 GM efi or LT1 Corvette. Which trans - 1 to 1 or 1.5 to 1 (power slot)?
  4. I like this. Good for tourneys up through C imo.
  5. We're about 5 minutes from a nice public pond that's 3 miles long with a course,15 minutes from a small public pond with a submersible course, and 30 minutes from a large-busy public lake with a course & a private pond just the right size for our course. We tow the boat to them. Pretty lucky !!!
  6. Accurate World Cup - used the 3/4 a few seasons and went with the full finger last year. Tight fit - easy on skin - hold up well.
  7. No. I'll hang on to our 92 PS 190 for now. My fav MC is the 25th Anniversary 93 190 Limited (bronze flake). New one is nice though. Hope to see and ski at a tourney in the future.
  8. Looks nice. I think I see a couple of classic Glastron design elements - windshield (CVX) and hard bow cover (CVZ).
  9. A little off subject... I think the value of our 92 PS 190 will continue going up. Better on fuel and better wake.
  10. Not since 2007. The kids have gotten into summer basketball, softball and now volleyball. Have had only one open weekend since Easter. It's all good though - living the dream and would not trade it. Have skied 4 days so far this season, and about 10 last year. From 89 to 07 I skied about 30 times a season and went to 2 or 3 tourneys. Maybe get back into it in a few years.
  11. I may be interested in your A3. I am in CT. Where are you located. PM me if it is available. Thanks
  12. We wipe it dry with a cotton towel after each use, and use Turtle Spray Wax about every two weeks. "Raising it up. Waxing it down. In a little white box that I can sell uptown." FZ
  13. If we ever sell our 92 MC 190 I will check out a Gekko.
  14. @rayn. I took my family of 6 and a combo skiing friend to the pro tour on a pond in Hartford in 98. Easy access right off I84. At least 3 to 4 thousand spectators watching Mapple and Roberge duke it out. Carl won. Seemed to be a sensible location inbetween NYC and Boston. Love to see it come back. @marcusbrown well put ! And great video ! What got me into the sport was watching guys and girls rip big turns and throw massive sprays on the rivers, bays and coves in southern NJ. Hanging on the beach and taking turns sitting on the bow of our 50hp outboard so our bigger friends could get up. Today I'm lucky to have a few good public sites within 30 minutes of our eastern CT home. This would be a great place for your grassroots tour.
  15. @Marcusbrown I am considering a Freeride for the boat ski. Our two youngest learned to get up on a Blast 63 last year. Both are bigger now. Our son is 6' 4" 185. Daughter is 5' 8" 130. Would a 67 Freeride fit the bill? Also leaning towards replacing my Phantom Carbon & Animals with an A3 & dbl Apex. Have not been able to get much user info on the Apex yet. PS. Will HO be bringing any grassroots ski days to the New England area? I see that Wade's training clinic may be coming through CT in August. If you are coming this way I have an idea for good location for the grassroots tour in eastern CT. Very nice public lake with good access, near beachs, and lots to do in the surrounding area.
  16. I have an original 2mil Oneil Assault Dry Suit which I bought new in 96. A little different than today's Assault Hybrid. Traditional fit from the waist down and arms with just a little extra room in the chest and shoulders. All neoprene with a polypropylene liner in the chest and back. I'm 6 2 170 and wear a large. I wear it a few times each season in the spring and fall. It is still in almost new condition. Very good suit!!! Warm, dry and comfortable. A few guys I skied with in 94 95 at Berkeley Aquatic Park used them. Not sure if they still make them. I would highly recommend one if you could find it.
  17. I was last there in 95. Was a nice shop.
  18. @Coskier, There were two shops when I lived in San Rafael. Demo Ski in San Rafael and Mellos in Richmond.
  19. Transportation services manager at Mohegan Sun.
  20. @east TC skier. Your are right it was linseed oil. Back in 05 I was told mix 50/50 with the spirits. Is a little darker too.
  21. The Watco works well. I bought a new platform from the guys at Teak World in Tenn. They recommended to cut the teak oil 50 / 50 with mineral spirits and apply 3 - 4 coats.
  22. Anyone tried them yet?
