  1. @ral and @Than_Bogan , I agree. It was published in the anniversary issue of WaterskiMag because it's a part of waterski history. Every sport has it's scandals. I couldn't believe it when I read it. I still can't believe it happened!
  2. The passion was definitely there on Sunday. This was actually the 3rd complete pass she made that day. Had I posted the video of her first successful pass, you would have heard me screaming like a girl from the drivers seat. You also would have seen another fist pump from my wife BEFORE she rounded 6 ball. She knew it halfway out to the ball that she was going to turn it and started celebrating. Pretty awesome moment for us rookies.
  3. @Than_Bogan , agreed! She must have memorized that Leveraged Position article
  4. Had to post this because I'm so stoked for my wife! The last video I posted of her was the VERY first time she made it around all the training buoys. Well.... that was 3 weeks ago. Now she's around the pumpkin colored ones. I'm proud to admit my wife skis better than I do. I can still remember exactly 11 months ago when she decided to try one ski.... now she has turned into a monster. Watch out Regina (pay no attention to the boat path near the gates) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6MVyHgBfvA
  5. @escmanaze , solid question. One that I too asked a little while back. Here is the thread on that same topic: Speed up first, or cut rope first? Hopefully this is helpful. http://ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/7358/what-s-the-best-way-to-progress-in-the-course
  6. Do you know if they modified the button snaps from the previous models? (i.e., Basis/Attack) I've had my Basis boots for barely a year and the snaps come undone each set. Still love the boots, just wish the snaps stayed in place.
  7. @coskier , You might check out the SN 206's too. I've heard they have impressive wakes. Price might be higher than you are looking for. They have walkthrough bows. http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2004-Correct-Craft-206-Team-101946000
  8. agree with @bdougherty. It depends what you want out of the new boat. Will you be using it for slalom? Or will you be using it for various watersports? If that Malibu is in your price range then you could definitely find a SN 196 of the same year for less money and a HECK of a slalom pull. Also a cheap and handy alternative to a wakeboard tower is a "Fly High Pole".
  9. Looks like you are doing something I've had problems with. Be a little more patient with your edge change. Make sure you are pulling through both wakes on edge. Lots of pop off that first wake from letting up just a tad bit too early. In order to stay on edge, it helps me to remember my "work zone". April Coble told me to keep that ski on edge not just through both wakes, but from "white-wash to white-wash". All your work should be done there at your speeds and 15-off. You're still getting nice and wide to the buoys. But I think you can get even wider and have a smoother wake cross.
  10. A coat of Lucas Oil Spray Wax after EVERY set! It's a tradition at our ski club.
  11. Yup , She was a fun boat. Once we moved from public waters to a private ski lake, it was just time for a smaller boat. As you can see my wife and I love those extreme boat colors :)
  12. I owned a 209 for a season. I'd say shorter lines and 34+mph you won't be disappointed. Slower speeds and longer lines.... you better have a strong position behind the boat. Keep in mind, it's a 3-event certified boat so it's got pretty good credentials for being a solid ski boat. Great family boat too. Takes choppy water very well for a DD and for the most part you don't have to worry about small children sitting in the bow like you might on the 19 footers. Enjoy!
  13. @gregy thanks. I sent an email with those pics to the dealer. I'm sure they will help in some way
  14. woops. I definitely DO NOT have a ramlin. It's a phoenix. Anyhoo, that's sort of beside the point. Here are some pictures of my issue. Once again, I've tried launching the trailer as deep as I feel comfortable up until my exhaust pipe is almost underwater. If that's a normal amount of love that a keel and a roller should be sharing... so be it. I'm just wondering if I should consider raising the bunks and/or lowering the roller. If it looks normal and I just need a poly material roller, then that's cool too
  15. @Dscholfield , I've had the same problem. My ski would always pop off the first wake primarily because of a flat ski. However, I just got back from ski school last week and they noticed that in addition to a flat ski, I also was too far back on the ski. You are going to "ramp" the first wake more if you don't have enough ski in the water. If you feel that you are on edge enough through the wakes, then your problem could be that you aren't stacked enough. Get some more weight on that front foot and see what happens.
  16. @MickeyThompson , good point. The buoy does appear to be pushed underwater or perhaps just lost in the spray. However, according to @ToddL 's post, a gate buoy that is "sunk" is a missed gate. Possibly the judges saw the same thing and still made the right call.
  17. @gregy I will when I'm at the club next.
  18. @BraceMaker I think that would fix the issue. Maybe throw on a poly while I'm at it. Appreciate the suggestions.
  19. I've contacted 2 Nautique dealers today and neither really had a recommendation. They basically said there has been several trailer issues ever since the 200's came out but Phoenix has fixed the issue with their most recent model. They also said typically dealerships won't do much in the way of modifying trailers?
  20. @BraceMaker thanks. To my knowledge the roller and bunks don't look adjustable. Someone else mentioned purchasing a poly roller to get rid of the black marks. I like that idea but I'm still a bit worried that I'm damaging the keel by letting my Nautique rest on that roller over time. (even though the keel is probably the strongest part of the boat).
  21. I was wiping down the bottom of my 200 the other day and noticed that the "keel roller" must be putting a lot of pressure on the bottom of my boat. It's leaving nasty black stains and possibly even wearing down the keel where it touches. It's also resting on the roller when the boat is out of the water. The other 200's at my club don't even touch the keel roller when out of the water. It's almost like the bunks aren't cradling the boat enough? I've experimented with putting the trailer in the water more but that hasn't worked. Has anyone else had this problem with their Ramlin? If so what did you do to remedy the problem. Thanks guys.
