  1. @SkiJay , I did not know they made those GoPro mounts. I like it. It made me think of an idea for mounting GoPro's to your ski. Check my image below.... I'm pretty sure the circled thread holes are for specific bindings but do you think they would be compatible with that GoPro mount if I found the proper threaded bolt? Seems like a fairly secure way to bolt your GoPro to a ski.
  2. Obviously I'm hard at work today.... About 10 minutes of modification and I believe I've got a solid platform for the GoPro. Should be able to post some video of Lake Norris this weekend to see if it reduces vibrations and frustration.
  3. @SkiJay the EZ cam has that same screw mount. The EZ cam however adds an additional front mount that will hold pretty much any device that is not screw mount compatible (like cell phones). You can see from the picture below that this additional front mount is flexible in movement which has advantages and disadvantages. Advantages of flexible front mount: 1. it's perfect for cell phones and smaller devices without screw mounts (threads). 2. You can position the camera however you want so that you know the skier stays in the desired frame Disadvantages of front mount: 1. If the device you are using has a screen for viewing purposes, you cannot see the screen while it's mounted to the clamp (Thus it becomes difficult to see if the skier is in the frame.) 2. You constantly have to reposition the front mount as it gets easily knocked out of position from shortening the rope or removing the mount between uses. I'm getting ready to run out to the shop to modify this device as we speak for our GoPro.
  4. @Marco No worries. Message Horton and maybe he can take care of it when he returns from the Pro Am. I've done it before too
  5. @Phil2360 good find. That video isn't of me. There is a tubing video of me in my YouTube archive but that is not the one. And yes it would be Panda worthy.
  6. @PUNKEE that's at 28mph. The first time i ran the course i was actually at 26mph
  7. @rayn yep. It's the best lake on the property. It used to be the wakeboard lake but the instructors told me last week that they've decided to leave the course in place for good. April likes training there when lake 2 is too choppy.
  8. @Chef23 Lake 1 indeed. One of these days I'm going to return to Coble and be ready to run with the big dogs at lake 2 or 4 :)
  9. @bdougherty , We just returned. Coble was amazing. Megan was there and got to ski with us a few times. She's also going to be attending lessons with Seth Stisher at S.K.I. in July. She's a solid skier!
  10. @bdougherty We plan on making it to as many Monday night ski's as possible. Looking forward to it. See you at Spring Fling next Saturday?
  11. I doubt that! Is there only one Hoosier Buoy Tour event? @crashman
  12. The last two passes of this video are taken with the EZ Cam (the only two passes that are clearly not at Coble Ski School). The video was shot with a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition. Once again we attach the GoPro to the "clamp/arm" of the EZ Cam Mount. We also keep the GoPro in the waterproof housing while it's clamped in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5HKdT5fiHc
  13. You were all once at this ability level. This past week was a big breakthough for me. Being able to run the course at a fairly consistent rate. I've been working on keeping the ski on edge through both wakes. Still not the most comfortable behind the boat but it's getting better and better each time I'm on the water. Hopefully I've improved a little bit since my video post a week ago. Thanks for all your input. I've been taking notes and working on all the pointers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5HKdT5fiHc (sorry for those of you in Germany that can't watch the video. Some copyright issues with YouTube)
  14. EZ cam is nice because you can attach any video camera device to it. It has a "screw mount" on the top which will obviously hold any camera device with threads in the bottom. We never use the "screw mount" part of the EZ cam because GoPro's don't screw-in and our Kodak Playsport sits too high on that mount which causes LOTS of vibration. The other part of the EZ cam mount which we use for our GoPro is the "clamp" part. This will fit most devices. There is a flaw with this part of the mount, though. The clamp is fixed to an arm socket which allows the clamp to move in all different directions. It's nearly impossible to keep the clamp section in place during a set. We are constantly adjusting the position of the clamp. Also, because it's a hanging component of the mount, you get plenty of unwanted vibrations. I think I'm just going to strip all the components of the EZ cam mount and attach a GoPro mounting plate to the top of the EZ cam unit. Mike, feel free to give me a buzz if you want to know more about the EZ cam. We use it every time we ski.

  16. Megan took another fall at Coble. Worth posting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnIB2L0eQrI
  17. @slalom frog , "EZ Cam" mount on the pylon. GoPro Hero 3
  18. Some of you may remember my wife's face plant a couple weeks back. She got back up and hit all 6 greens for her first time the other day. Feel free to chime in with some pointers that may help her prepare for the oranges. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9KZKRu1xo0
  19. @gregy , thanks a bunch. I've not watched that video before. A little advanced for me but still helpful.
  20. @gregy thanks. i will watch the video when I'm back home. Going to Coble. I'll get plenty of good information. Just trying to get as much info and tips as possible.
  21. I REALLY need to work on generating more lean/speed, etc. in the course (thanks for all your suggestions to my video posts). Some of you pointed out that my gates are weak and if I can get more speed and width into 1 ball, the rest of my pass will improve. ( thanks @MattP ) I'm LFF so my turn-in for the gates isn't the strongest yet.... but I'm working on it! My main question is what specific movements with my hips, etc. should I be focusing on at the gates. I watched Andy Mapple during the Moomba finals and when he "coasts" before his turn-in for the gates, it almost looks like he is putting a lot of weight/pressure on his rear foot to slow himself down. He then falls slightly back and towards the wakes. Thanks for your kind words in advance.
  22. @ToddL , Thank you. That helps explain a lot. I can assure you I will post video to my other thread ASAP and you will notice a difference in my lean. Hoping for an 8am glass session in the morning at the course. I can also assure you that there may or may not be a knarly whipeout added to the mix :) I'm looking forward to it.
  23. @ShaneH , I liked your comment earlier. Let me make sure I understand correctly. So if I'm at the apex near 1 ball... flex front ankle and move my LEFT (inside) hip towards 2 ball? Hopefully I'm on the same page. I love that description because it gives me a mental visual. Thanks again.
  24. a should mention that i came from open water skiing on a public lake. i was taught to rip turns as hard as possible to generate big spray. Ive quickly learned that same concept doesnt work the best on a slalom course. Im guessing most people started this way too. How did you learn to adjust turning technique when you first got on the slalom course?
  25. @ctsmith , thanks. Just wanting to get better at skiing. Ive been putting lots of time on the water and BOS helps me make the most of my time on the water.
