  1. The oldest skier in our club had some type of result of 54km, 17 m around 1969. I will try to ask him.
  2. Fwiw Speed table from Sweden 1961. Did not find line lenghts in this book.
  3. If you drive a Ford Broncho to the lake you might want this ski?
  4. One guy at our club ski RFF slalom but Trick LFF...
  5. @Keith_Menard Agree. You posted the cheapest bikini.? However very few girls ski naked (fortunately)!
  6. My 2 cents FWIW Advantages using Ortho in alpine boots - Foot stand with 'equal pressure' and help improve blood circulation - Less fatigue. I can ski more relaxed - Help me with my terrible pronation I use one in my Reflex, FF for tricking. Same reasons as above. I sometimes use 2 in my slalom boots. Semi stiff Radar Pulse boots. Provide better stans (pronation). Reason for sometimes is since I cant squeeze them in with the neoprene socks. Socks are more important (we start skiing in well below 40F)
  7. @Than_Bogan Belarus has sent military troups and material into Ukraina since a few days. They claim they do not take active part in the invasion.... Putin started the invasion 2014 of some parts of Ukraina.
  8. Agree. They look very much alike but I am quite sure it is an Americana binding or that they emerged later. The Americana was most plastic and not aluminium. Skied on one for a few seasons on the short mogul skis.Horrible function but very light.
  9. Americana binding in the middle from approx 1975.

    H@LY SH!T!

Never seen or heard of one i Aluminium. I Sweden and most of Europe they must be ested and certified and inspected by a 'DMW' reguraly. The boat, cargo must be sufficient strapped to the trailer. Sometimes checked by the Police.... Greatfull no one seems to be injured.
  11. Fwiw A wet sute will add quite some extra floating. I would guess a 3mm full suite have similar flotation as a comp west. And it will not help to keep your head above the surface. ..
  12. @jhughes Our club arrange ski school every year. We have plus 40 kids (type age 9 to 17) each summer. Many kids return to the school 3 to 4 times but do not continue to ski. We offer free membership the rest of the year, 4 months 2 evnings per week training. Few attend. We provide loan of all equipment. We help to drive the kids to/home from the club. They can also almost for free ski at another 8 clubs within less than 2,5h drive. Many clubs offer unlimited skiing for 100 to 200 usd per year. After 10 years about 3 familjes got adicted. Mostly alltså. 2 kids run 26 to 30 mph now. One can lead the house to the water but you can not forse him to drink.... It is not the cost or availability. What more can we do??
  13. We pulled the boat today. Last set. Water 40F. Air 28F. Just a little bit of snow... Now the describe me as a sunshine skier...

    Engine hours

How long does old gas tanks last? In Sweden, tanks (and the gas system) has to be replaced in cars after x years due to safety. Ok. There are high and low pressure systems and I do not know if there are similar rules? Personally, I am affraid of old corroded gas systems...
  15. Since top skis are hand built, are they individuals? Alpine race skis are individuals (at least for the pros) but they have wooden core...
  16. Personally I try to avoid conditions when I can get Hurt. Basically waves, rollers. Cold, snow, wind is ok to ski in.
  17. @Kroeks I do exact the same but I use my kevlar liners. There are also a bit thicker Nitril gloves that last a bit longer.... We also ski down to 0C (water freeze temp). I also put on a thin vest under the dry suite. 2mm neo socs in my Radar Pulse boots. Hardly tight them at all.
  18. @KRoundy I have used CLINCHERs for many years. Had a severe accident last year Pull my upper arm bone in pieces, damaged both arm nervs so I lost muscle function, broke my neck. Will never use them again!
  19. @Beezer Congrats to an exceptionell fast progress! Wery well done!! Just to compare (I might be a really slow learner).... I have made type 1000 sucessfull passes 15off at 30mph. 500 at 31mph, 150 at 32mph. Only -One 22 off at 32mph.... I am 63 and will most likely skip 34. And I have taken plus 100 sets with really experienced coaches. So be proud and enjoy yor achivements
  20. Broken rib. 2 times. Last year (exact this day) I had a severe accident. 5 days in ER. Sick leave 120 days. Due to CLINCHER I hold on until upper arm bone broke. Rope started to fray. Arm got extended so I damaged nervs to both hands. Brok my neck in the fall also. Some more bad discs (back) Still on rehab with pain but ski as training.
  21. Being an average waterskier I do not forsee a huge difference. However I do hope it will simplify and improve for the athlets. Without public any sport is just a hobby and there are not much money in it. With public it can make money for the pros. I agree with wish. Using Imperial units is not beneficial for the sport. Maybe it is not a big deal? Waterskiing is the only sport that I know of that provide rounded values annonced to be exact. 'waterski mph' and 'waterski feets'.... Fwiw A rope is not 75 feet. It is about 75 feet. One does not take off 28 feet. One take off about 28 feet. The boat speed is not 36 mph. The speedometer is adjusted to show a corupt value.
  22. Radar Profile and Pulse are a tad wider compared to the Vapors. I find the Reflex a bit narrow. I have heat mold the plastic a bit. (Alpine boot fitter)
