  1. I use a Intuition L liner in a 10 shell for my trick ski. It was due to availability. It works for me but the liner is maybe on the large side. I even use an alpine ortho soule in the boot.
  2. I seldom keep equipment in my car. Mostly to avoid thefth. My 2 cents: -Rubber material such as bindings are most sensitive to heat and sunlight. -Next is the core material. -Next is the epoxi. -Finally the carbon/glass fiber. A ski is manufactured, pressed with heat for quite some time. Epoxi benefit from many hours heat to reach maximum strenght. So a blanc ski could maybe be kept warm in a car without much impact? Bindings/rubber/plastic are for me a more limiting factor. What about heat molded liners in a super hot car?
  3. All. Best recover. @Deanoski Great that you are back. Thanks. Yes I am on my way back. Very slow... Just starting to ski 30mph now. @BraceMaker Thanks. This was day 3 at the hospital -on painkillers. Acident in September. Orto went of mid December. Rehab, rehab. Skiing trick and some 30 mph now. @Andre Thanks. I only used clinchers to avoid blisters. Unfortunately grab the handle tight. Never really used them to improve my grip.
  4. Broken neck. Broken upper arm bone. Damaged nerves. WARNING. DO NOT USE CLINCHERS WITH DOVELS. I pulled my arm by holding on way too long... Three months of water and orthoses. Then to cheer me up. Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Beer.
  5. There was a product called Flag Slalom. Mounted on the boat. Created a sound when the rope shoul have been timing wise at the boie (boat speed, angle) Rope hit the flag at reached correct angle.
  6. According to my limited knowledge (sorry for my languge/spelling): Gas consist of mainly 2000 C-H chains. Longer and shorter are in minority. They burn a bit different. Gas is made from crude oil. Crude oil has different chemical content depending origin. There are many different methods to extract the petrol. (Do not know which are commercially used) They give different end results of C-H chains. Gas is ofcource sold within specifications. Can this variation impact engine perfomance?
  7. Fwiw. I have skied 5 different Senates. The last years modell are more forgiving compare to previous modells. Different core are already mentioned. Softer cores might suite you better since you ski a lot open water? My experience is that most folks advance faster in the course with a less advanced ski. Might be rather different speed free skiing and learn the course? Ski size..... Some requirments are most likely contradictionary? Hard to find just one ski that fulfill all requierments... I am on a Lithium 2020 now and only ski in the course.
  8. Started real skiing at age 53. Ski 3 sets per week in average. PB training 4 @ 25 off 32mph and about 700 points trick. Have never competed. Still try to get back after a severe injury in Septembre. Can bearly trick now.
  9. I am late this ear due to rehab but hope to ski in a month or two. A lot of club boats in Sweden are in the water now despite it is still snowing days left. We would like to see some extra options from the manufacturers: Wind Shield Wipers when it is snowing (I sit on my knees and look above the wind shield when it is snowing) Better defroster to ease up the ice (I bring a snow scrape in my ski bag early season) Sweet water Glycol system to protect the engine from freezing during nights (was unfortunately not an option when we got our boat)
  10. @yoko My 2 cents being just an intermediate skier (PB Training, 4 boies 52kmh/32mph at yes 25off/15m. Ride a Senate) I think you will develop faster on a more forgiving ski until you have a more solid position. I believe shall grow out of a ski until the skier is stacked. Then it is time to ride a high end ski. My guess is that the beneficial level for a shift is beyond 15/22 of at 32/52 kmh. The Union is a great ski and it can take you a long way. BTW. My friend tested the Radar Theory (type earlier version of the Union) and did tun a full 38 off 34 mph pass on the ski without problem.
  11. I use 2mm and 3mm. Ski when there still is some ice left. Radar Vector, Profile and Pulse and in Reflex with Intuition liners. Do not tighy bindings so hard. Release better than bare feets. Ok no record skiing but nice for early spring training
  12. Maybe this might help you a bit? /forum#/discussion/6555/how-a-ski-club-works-in-sweden
  13. My 2 cents. Gas/petrol power boats will be in use for quite some time. Electric boats will be used in some cases - when motivated. Battery: Batteries does 'improve' about 17% per year. Every year now in the beginning, one ear old technology is unfortunately very old. Degradation become better and better. 1 000 000 miles batteries are starting to become available. Batteries can be produced without cobalt and other more 'nasty' materials Batteries can be charged faster and faster BUT The amount of energy that has to go into the battery is a lot and will increase (to be able to make more passes). To get such power supply out to lakes will be costly. Especially when one want to charge fast.... Current boats are energy costly to drive. Quite some savings can be made BUT maybe at the cost of tracking/skiing experience.
  14. @chrislandy Still have hard time to understand. Please educate me? Assume for a minute that air and heat energi losses are zero. All remaining energi will go into push the boat through the water. There are no other energi available that can go into increase the wakes! The wakes loses a tiny bit of energy into heat while traviling. The remaining energy will be used to 'destroy' the shore line. Type moving gravel and sand etc.
  15. Would not the amount of gas consumed per distance/pass describe the energy? It can not be 100 times difference??
  16. Thanks all. Yes doctors tells me I will fully recover even if it was a close call to permanent lose right arm functionality. I started using clinchers early to prevent blisters. Works great for that. Since I grab the handle with a full grip I do not use the benefit from the added grip the dowels provide. So I have not really paid much attention to the dowels. I will maybe use clinchers but NEVER use dowels again. I felt strong and worked mostly on the technique that day. After plus 100 successful passes at 15 and 19 the step to shorten the rope to 22 did not felt to hard. Anyway It felt great after many years to reach the goal to sort of -shorten the rope...
  17. It is hard to write this post but I will anyway share my experience. My best day in water skiing made med so happy. Next run was my worst ever crash in my life. Lets take the positive first. I started to ski really well second half of the summer. My 32@15 off finally after 6 seasons became consistent and fairly easy. Since we have a lot of rollers and I am 63 next season I decided to stay on 32 and shorten using training loops. 19 off was easy. Tried 22 off a few times and this time I run it directly after a few 19 off. My goal has been to officially shorten the rope. 32@22 off felt like 34@15 off. Put on 25 off and run 4 boies (felt better compared to any result on 28 off) Was sooooo happy. Felt like a true water skier! Celebrated with my best friend. 3 day later was my next run. My 32 was easy. After 4 passes I shortened to 22 off. Turned around 4 waited and got a really strong angle. Super acceleration and speed. Right behind the boat I had heavy load in both arms. Got stuck in my lean or was not stacked or caught a roller or ??? Felt way to heavy load when landing after second wake. I did not let go of the handle, totally crashed. Upper right arm bone broke and got dislocated. Right arm nerves was broken, could not control the arm. Broke one ‘bone’ in my neck. Left arm nerves was also partly damaged. I am sure that the clinchers 'helped holding on' too much. I do not use them to improve my grip (prevent blisters). Never had any issues with them before. WARNING. The clinchers must have had an severe impact on the injuries. No way I could torn an upper arm bone in two with just a hand grip. I can see that the rope has damages ('starting to break/fray') Maybe the crash in the water was hard but I did not felt it that way? Never the less, the dowels has to come out if I ever gone use clinchers again! Four days in the emergency. 16 weeks of sick leave . Orthoses on arm and neck 24/7 for 12 weeks. Some disk problems also. Now 18 weeks later I am getting better. Everything will be ok. Feel free to elaborate what caused the injuries. :'( I hope that I want to ski again this summer. At the moment I am a bit afraid that I will not be brave enough to come back...
  18. My 2 cents A wet suite add some flotation. A comp vest and a plus 2mm full suite is then sufficient. At least for me.
  19. I use clinchers since 7 years. Not for the extra grip but for less blisters. Hold my handle with closed hands Have never had any problems to release the handle until last week ... Made pb, first 32@22off and then 4 at 25 off. Sooo happy. Next run I got a really hard pull to 5, LLF. Got a strong acceleration, high force in my arms and felt high speed beeing really early. At 2 wake I got stuck in my pull and burried the ski in full lean. Total crash. Still holdingbolag on to the handle. Left Upper arm broke. Nervs briketter. Arm hanging limp. Left arme lost most muskler. Neck injuries. 12 weeks with head stabilize thing. I do not knew if this was caused by my strong grip or clinchers? Maybe it was a roller? Anyhow, MY ADVICE. !! NEVER USE CLINCHER WITH DOVELS!!!!
  20. Not about lace up but maybe usefull? I think that the Profile has been replaced with the Pulse binding. I really liked the Profiles. A bit wider footbed compare to the Vapors. The Pulse has separate Intuition liners. A bit stiffer left to right. A bit more narrow (unfortunately, why have the same witht for all bindings?). I ski better with the Puls bindings...
  21. Sorry if off topic.... I bought a second hand ML Radius Ergo Handle. It really helped my elbow issues. The rubber is starting to wear out. Is there any alternatives from example Radar?
  22. Eric has two lakes. I think the oldest one is for sale.
  23. Ski Line trick when slalom! The new 4 event competition o:)
