  1. @JeffSurdej Some reflections on waterskiing in Sweden. It is easy and “cheap” to ski in Sweden! There are approximately 66 active clubs. In reality all clubs are open for new members. Most member fees are low, type 100 USD per year (plus gas). It is legal to ski at almost any lake (not to small and open for motor boats). There are about 90 000 lakes in Sweden. We have also a long coast line with 100 000 islands. There are almost 1 M boats in Sweden. There is no need for a driver license, no need for spotter, no requirements for life vest, no need for permits, no boat registration. I do not know if there is rules about a install a course? – just go and ski! Many people consider waterskiing - A bit hard on the body - A bit dangerous - Take some time to get started - There are more fun things in life - Can only be done in perfect sunny day I think that hard on the body part is the major problem? Jeff. Welcome to Stockholm if you have the time. I will try to help you visit and ski at a bunch of clubs Some more info in an old post: /forum#/discussion/6555/how-a-ski-club-works-in-sweden
  2. Sorry for the outfit. Wetsuite from type 1983. Was very, very tight.... Vest from 1973. Scurfer from type 198x.
  3. Our club Lambarö Vattensportklubb celebrate 50 years this summer. And of course we had vintage theme.
  4. I Only got one odd set with them before we had to pull the course and the boat. The where great. Much firmer feel for 'canting' Simple method: You can heat mild using warm water in the boots. A bit warmer than a really hot shower. Fill the boats twice and then wait for 5 minutes. Put in your feet and tight the binding. Wait for 5 minutes and you are ready. Repete if neccesary.
  5. BBBC 4/7 My own diet. Mostle Bordeaux, Borgogne, Barolo, Champagne. Max 4 Days out of 7. And not to much. Nice food goes with the wine. Healty and a lot of vegitables and only some meet. Nice Ballers will ski and dine with me. Welcome to Stockholm!
  6. Season 2019 summary Trick skiing is difficult. It seems to be very difficult… For me it takes for ages to improve - or do I just have too high goals? When we can we slalom but very often it is too bad conditions for slalom. So usually our trick runs are under less than perfect conditions. Most trick runs are fairly long. We just ski around and enjoy skiing and add some trick training. Total trick runs are plus 50 (type 24 hours in/on the water). It has been fun. I can clearly experience much better ski control and stability. However, I have only added one new successful trick. Starting to make approved the third W-180. Also make approved W-180 from center – outside the wake. The Wrapped WO is still a struggle but I get about 50% of the unwind without falling so it might come. There was only a release person available one occasion for a short run. So no toe skiing this year… Hope for more tricks next year and maybe a trick run for competing. 7. Manager to squeeze in two sets before boat went up. Ok it was ice on the starting dock, but still fun. The ski seems to cut a little better than the Quantum.
  8. Isn't arguing and discuss price, benefit, creative solutions part of the fun on a forum? >:) If bored I just skip that tread...
  9. Water better than air. Ice on the dock. Windy. Only 25 minutes each trick runs due to lack of daylight. Hope for less wind tomorrow.
  10. Thanks. Great subject. Really grateful that you put in so much effort in this comparision.
  11. I got both Tennis and Golf in both arms, a bit less in my onside weaker arm (?). Problems was there for several years. A lot of stretching and some bicep training helped. Use Vice gloves since a long time. Team Monster Radius or ML Ergo Radius handles. Mostly start with hands the wrong way and then switch before the course. When it gets bad I trick ski for a few sets and let the arms rest. Its getting better and better. Best luck
  12. I have tried stay at 30@15off for many sets. Well, I ski them better and better. Can do more errors and still make the pass (recently I missed the handle with one hand and still made the pass). 32 is harder. Best case I make 2 passes per set. High 31 works great and are more fun to ski. This does not give me any progress. Now I alter from solid sets at 30 up to 31,8 and sets with a lot of 32, 33 and 34. This does not work well either. My low level goes up and my high level goes down... (same trend during last 5 years) Higher speed is more fun. The fun starts at 32. 30 is harder on the body. I belive that alter between solid sets and faster sets will help me to improve. If not it is at least more fun. When everything is bad I take a trick run.
  13. We have book in the club boat. Every set is noted by the driver. After the season I count my runs and add my guest runs at other clubs. Since I do not progress, its hard to motivate any notes. For example. Skied today. Trick since it was 16 mph wind, choppy, some rain, rather cold and dark. Two persons put 65 minutes on the boat. No progress to log....
  14. @Than_Bogan Reuse instead of a new one. Better for the Environment.?
  15. I still have the problem to find the icon (gear in the top right corner on either Chrome or Explorer)? How can I edit a post? Problem on my end??
  16. Started season early when water was still freezing some days... Long sets on the trick ski. Slowly improved my tricks. No trick run yet but can perform trick worth 800p. My body was more prepared when I started to slalom. After just 5 short sets I got my first complete 30@15off. Soon I got 6 back to back on 30 and season first 32. Last week after 40 trick sets and 60 slalom I made first season set with two 32's. During last 5 years I ski more and better 30, 31, 31.5 BUT fewer 32's. Recently bumped up to 34. Get same 4@34 PB. Has been so for 7 years despite better skiing. My turns seems to have improved at 32/34, I now more often complete the turn before the boie and hit the boie with my bindings. We still have 4 to 6 weeks before the boat freeze and we have to stop skiing. My goal is still a full 34 and more consistent 32's. Have had the same goal now for seven years. Seven years with 500 sl sets (100 full 32 passes. 100 sets with coaches. A lot of gym training) has not taken me closer to the goal... Still happy, still hopefull 61 year young skier. Soon -it will happend.
  17. Awesome! Can anybody do those trick runs today? Are all tricks still in the rule book?
  18. @eleeski ... Experience from digging 2 lakes??
  19. Any experiences going from the 2017 shape (2016 Vapor shape) to the 2020 Senate shape?
