  1. By the way, what is your age? (I am old and progress slower and hence prefer smaller steps) I currently ski on a Theory and have also a Senate. But at 30 and 32 I ski better on the Theory.
  2. What speed are you skiing when you get 5 boies? My two cents are An less advanced ski will help you to progress faster and build a more solid base.
  3. Praise (?) is given in the eyes of the sender based on his references. So I guess you can enjoy their apriciation. Maybe kindly respond that you had higher expectations. I would enjoy watching any 38 off We do not see so many of those at my club. Sorry for the spelling errors.
  4. I have now reached 15!! Here is the film on fourth pass 15 off 30 mph Six Boies (no gate) Also tried 32 for and made three boies second pass as well! Sorry, no film today!
  5. Reached my goal today with a full pass at 30 mph. So the improvement this seson is 12 bois so far. Post from a happy Peter
  6. Finally I am getting a slightly better position. After quite some training my off side position have become better then may on side ?!? My ski buddy and coach usually decide the boat speed. He sometimes increase just a bit when I ski reasonable well. Today I got a 28,3 (46,5 km/h) as starter. It was super easy. Managed to follow up with a 47 then a 48 and finally the full 49 (30 mph). I was rather early all passes. !! I am really happy that I reached my goal to improve 12 bois this season!! (It is not that difficult when you start at my low level) Now I just need to get consistent at 30 before I try a 32.
  7. Just back from a nice evning at the club. Conditions was rather ok. Made an ok 28 mph and then trained on 30 just to feel the speed and work on rythm shadow bois. Ended up taking 3 bois 3 times (sort of new PB) Mostly thanks to improved gate. I hope I will get 6 at 30 this year.
  8. I find salt compared to sweet water have a huge impact but I assume that is taken care of by the wing settings? Or??
  9. Thanks Horton What engine option was reviewed? Is there any figures on fuel consumption compared to for example the 196? Brgds Peter
  10. Repair with yellow epoxi. Best for the ski. No sticker. Looks more hardcore.
  11. I have progress from 6@26 to 6@29 and 2@30 (have not tried 30 mote than 2 times) But I suck. Some sets I get 50% full passes at 26 and some times just one. My off side position is way better than my on side...... Some passes am am getting earlier and earlier and could turn 15 feet ahead of last boie. Other passes I make stupied things every turn. A few days ago was the best passes ever. Today was really crappy. Does not improve with a break either. Tried it a few times. Take coach regularly. Open for advice.
  12. I have a one Radar control handle. You get what you pay for but it is a great first handle. I prefer to test a few different diameters to find out what I like. A few cheaper handle is then my choise.
  13. @horton Great idea. The req spec is well written in 'what if ballers would design a boat'. ;o)
  14. The Picture is taken approx 25 miles sout-east of Stockholm. We do often have great sunsets but very seldom with these clouds. At 19:00 we had around 20 mph wind.....
  15. Please enjoy. After a nice dinner at the country house with family the cloudes was BELOW the SUNSET. Time is 21:45. It is fore sure not an every day experience.
  16. @bogboy We just ski for fun. Why not shorten at 26 or 28? It is really fun to ski 22 off. I made a full pass at 26 mph at 22 off.
  17. Status update My goal was to progress two speeds (12 bois, no entrance gates). Baseline was 6 at 26. Just made 6 at 29. The Wakeye made the job so it is now on film It was not one of my best runs.... Have not done so many 30 yet. Just a few with 2/3 bois. Need to be more consistent on 28 first. So sort of 9 in progress. Still hope I can make 30. Changed from my Theory to Senate a few weeks ago. I do not think I ski better but it is more fun.
  18. I think the boat industry needs some type of aligned well defined definittion on fuel consumption and weight. Why not a driving cycle like for cars. X hours on idle. Y hours draging a long rope at different speeds. Type measure the tension in the rope at the pylon. Maybe 100 lbs at 30 mph could simulate an average skiier. Weight should be with standard equipment driver and half fuel.
  19. Radar P6 is a really great ski. Radar Vector is a very comfortable and robust binding. Also cover a Wide size range. An adjustable rear toe plate is great if some one prefere to start on two skis and drop one. It is important to get a not to advanced ski. That will only slow down your learning curve. Best luck and keep us updated.
  20. @horton At what speed do you think the Theory runs best? How short line can you run on it?
  21. My two cents since I am also a beginer Fully agree to many comments. My coach wanted me to shadow bois and start from the end. 6, 5+6, 4+5+6 etc. Always make 6 full turns. Always focus on rythm and timing. Started off at 25,26 mph. When I managed 4 resonable sucessfull passes he raised the speed. I have now 6 at 28, 4 at 29, just started 2 at 30. Also just for fun 6 at 26, 22 off, 2 at 29, 22 off Just changed ski to Senate. Turns better and is more fun to ski. The ski needs 30 to run better. Only tried 30 a few times. But..... I recently just mess upp my skiing totally. My off pull is totally crap. My on pull is really strong. Mostly without creating speed?!? Timing is gone. Yesterday I went to 30 just shadow bois. Felt much better. Unfortunately no skiing until next week.
  22. Small review as promised after some played around with our Wakeye. I ordered the generic mount threded knob and also the I Phone 5 mount. Summary: Great and fast shipment. State of the art product. Create very stable films. Camera holder (foot to sky angle) could benefit from a bit more friction. Smart phone holder too phone product specific. One will replace phones way more often than getting new holders. Also the holders are a bit expensive in the long run compared to a real nice cam cam coorder. I would highly recommend this to all skiers. Product: Small production series with a lot of machined (miter) parts. Easiy to adjust fitting to the pylon. Just add suitable rubber pices thickness (included, with tape) The rotatation head is very precise. The arm slides fairly easily into the bottom of the rotation head. Maybe a bit hard spring function for the release. The wings that holds the rope is also carbon fiber. Maybe a small risk of rope wear and tear. The smart phone holders are also mitered out of a solid pice of very durable plastic. Again the guy who designed and programed the machine knows his job. Even the tiny small tracks from the miter is layed out in a beatiful pattern. Super airspace quality. Usage: Mounting is very fast and simple. Changing ropes are also no problems. The instruction tells you to open using the spring. It is faster just to stick the rope throug the holder. Mounting the camera is fast. However it takes some time to adjust to proper zoom and proper sky - feet angle. One must also not use full zoom in at the turns. Especially for less skilled long line skiers that get slack in the turns. Most filming with a regular Sony HD cam corder type two years old. Correctly adjusted the films are great. One has to pull the screw very hard to keep the camera still throug out a full set. It tend to only film the sky after a few passes. This became better after a few uses. Maybe there was some lubrication - cooling fluid left. Sorry for Language errors. Not English speeking using phone witout spell checker.
  23. Feet off: Clearly describe how long a roope isn't. B-)
  24. @horton Why not shadow bois? My trainer wants me to shadow and start to take bois from the end before I can run all six at that speed. In ordet to always practice 6 turns and keep rythm and timing. Maybe not applicable to those short lines?
