  1. @webbdawg99 I am looking at the pictures and am imagining you sitting in the den on that nice black chair posting on ball of spray, muttering anti Horton sentiments....I imagine they are still wafting in the walls, waiting to haunt the next owner.
  2. Is it just me or are his hands opposite the way they should be? @A_B ??? You seem to be the resident old man, and you have been skiing since Moses parted the Red Sea...am I right?
  3. @webbdawg99 how about a trade??? I will take your house for 3 of my wives!! Now that’s a deal!
  4. How the hell can I buy a beautiful well-finished house on a lake in Georgia, for the same price as 1/2 of a stupid lot in Utah!!!! Grrrrrrrr. Well, at least in Utah I can ski for an incredible 7 months!! And only have 5 months of the frozen tundra of death!!! I want to move damn it!!
  5. I loved this article...but are some things missing. Many people who are “fit and skinny” make it sound sound damn easy. For many it is so damn easy. For others, who have a different genetic makeup, it is the hardest thing on planet earth. I am sure it is the same with everything in life. For some people, being outgoing and talking is the hardest thing imaginable but for others it is simple. Same with drugs, alcohol, and a million other things. Weight for me has been a struggle from about 35 on. I have buddies who are mountain bike guys who absolutely eat like pigs and are skinny and ripped. I have another buddy who works his ass off in the gym doing CrossFit and eats healthy and looks like a soft marshmallow. I, along with guys like @A_B can walk by doughnuts or cookies or other tempting sweets, and literally we can start acting like a heroin addict the needs a fix! It sucks! Being fat and overweight sucks!!! Not being able to see your shoes, among other things, sucks!!! With weight, I feel like an alcoholic!! It is a daily struggle to eat healthy and to work out. Daily, hourly and sometimes moment to moment!! With that said, this is the main reason why I ski the balls!!! Having my reward for eating good and working out is simply to spend a bit longer than 14 seconds free from every care on this planet. No work stress, family stress, kid stress, health stress, nothing!!! It is gone. And for every pound I shed off my fat ass, the better I feel and the better I ski. That is why I work out. I don’t give a damn about being fit for any other reason. When I ski, I am a better husband, a more patient father, a nicer businessman, and overall a better person. Skiing is what does that for me. It is my religion, it is my passion...it is my zen. It is my addiction. So, thanks to many of you for being my support group, and Al, you can do this too!!! Forget the 60 by 60. Just eat clean today!! Then let tomorrow be a whole new set of balls!! I love this friggin site!
  6. Okay, as a crappy skier who is working hard to increase the ball count, I have a hard time with the “getting stacked” part of the turn. Watching most shorteline skiers as they come out of the apex of the turn, it is as if a cannon was just shot and the effort looks minimal at best, yet they are flying across and waiting for the next ball. I feel like I load up and then proceed with what I FEEL is tremendous speed across the wake, but upon reviewing video really looks like “poetry in motion”. It is depressing as hell.
  7. @igkya some of us are old and haven't mastered technology yet and any excuse to get on this site and promote a company and say hi to other old bastards is much more fun than googling a location of a store. Hell, I don't need this site after all. I can go to other sites for all my needs. Let's make a list here: 1. Rather than look at hot skiers in bikinis I guess I could go to some adult sites.....but they don't ski there so far less attractive. 2. Rather than hear incredible insights from open rated skiers, I guess I could go to the library and grab some slalom books, or maybe even I could go to youtube to learn how to ski better. here is a great one to start with. 3. Rather than listen to a bunch of guys get after Horton and mock him, I guess I could tune into CNN and listen to the commentary and pretend that they are mocking Horton. 4. Rather than wasting hours learning about useless things having to do with skiing, boating, boat care, equipment, algae reduction, wind chill, glove choices, and a million other topics, I guess I could go to my wife and do all the honey-do chores that have been building up for the last several years. 5. And finally, rather than creating and maintaining numerous friendships with a bunch of other old bastards and smiling whenever they have successes in life and crying whenever they are dealing with shit, I guess I could go on Facebook or go to Church. I think I will stick to this site, and hang out with all of you guys..... By the way, @bigskieridaho, quit posting stupid questions that can be answered by your smart phone!!!! :)
  8. @Wish is that boat still available?
  9. There is a God. His name is Nate Smith
  10. Funny, my wife looks for a babysitter for me. There were no takers there as well.
  11. Needed a bunch of gear and decided to support one of the advertisers who supports BoS. Performance rocks balls!!! They had everything I needed as well as sizing to fit me and @A_B. The selection is so much greater than anything in Utah. Guess now i gotta go to the other people on this site as well. Great job and great service.
  12. @Horton since you are making this site so wonderful and all, why not take some of your skill set and apply it to my skiing!! I could use the Horton touch.. I have been growing my hair out and I bought some glasses to wear whilst on the water, but I can't seem to improve my ball count. Could be the beer in my belly, but I would prefer to think of it as a glitch in my operating system. Help!
  13. I wish that was the case here! This was today’s snow storm. Guess I can’t complain too much— living 14 minutes from snowbird and Alta.
  14. @6balls I think it would be awesome to ski one set at a quarry site. And after 30 minutes you could ski a second set.....we go to a quarry-like site a few times a year called Lake Powell. You had better have a Mastercraft however as the 100 foot drop off the cliff to launch your boat would most definitely destroy lesser vehicles. I don’t worry about you and your kin lifting the boat out of the water.....your all freaks of nature up north!!
  15. Man, all these comments have been awesome. I am a bit restricted as to the CC& R's but I can definitely say I am ruling out the concrete walls. The owner told me a neighbor dug out his dock and lined the edges with 2 foot boulders. I worry a bit about that with the sediment build up. @oldjeep what is the name of that system? And what is the cost? I loved that. I am thinking I want to be able to have a slip for easy access but then incorporate that system behind the slip for cold water days. I am including a pdf of the site. I have two choices for where to put the dock--either end of the lot. Thanks for all the input!
  16. God damn it Jim!!!!!! I have been away for a while and recently returned. I have been chatting with @6balls and he mentioned you and what you are going through. I wouldn't wish this insidious disease on my worst enemy!! I also don't know a person on this planet who is more equipped to kick its ass than you!!! I want you to know I am praying for you and sending you all the love and light I can muster!! Instead of chasing balls, you are now chasing eradication of this cancer from your body....One cell at a time!!! You have a group of people in your circle who love and care and are cheering you on. You also have a bunch of middle-aged dudes on this forum who are doing the same!!!!!! Keep being positive and keep the fight!!!
  17. @oldjeep it is on a private lake and the owner, hence the architectural review board asked me to create a slip on my property because the turn around is tight. Thank goodness I don’t need to get any government agency involved....or my wife for that matter!
  18. My lot I purchased is at the end of the lake on the turn around, therefore, I am going to install my dock on my property instead of on the the lake. My question is about the best method for creating the slip. I was thinking of pouring a 4 foot concrete wall on 3 the sides of the slip and on the back. And then allow the water to simply flow in so I can put my boat there. Is there a better way to do this? I could pylon it, but I fear the sides where the dock is will ebb away over time. Curious as to your thoughts?
  19. I would always go with an older used boat with more hours than a new Skelton-equipped no name. There is something to be said for quality and that doesn’t go away simply because of use. A visual inspection of almost any used boat will speak volumes as to how that boat has been cared for. And after a summer with a new boat you will have 100 plus hours on it and it will now be used...without the quality and amenities of the former. I bought a used loaded Mercedes s 500 with 50k miles on it. Been driving it for a couple of years and am loving it. Saved 40k off a new one and haven’t looked back. My Prostar is the same way. I will be adding zero off on it this year and I will have a perfect boat with Lots of hours that looks and performs beautifully. Quality matters!
  20. @h2o.nhk. I wouldn't worry too much about Horton. I have never been given a panda, and I have been way way out there. It's a nice thing that we can get turned on by props and boots and fin adjustments and a myriad of other things that the laic community doesn't even understand. I can sit for hours and hours and be entertained and enlightened reading this forum. My wife just gives me a huge eye roll when she sees me on this site. I told her she should come on this site to learn how to pull me better--she seems to think that the center buoys are to hit. Go figure.
  21. Oops wrong thread @"h2o.nhk" I thought you were @A_B or @6balls welcoming me back! As a side note, come to Utah—our snow here has magically disappeared. I am about ready to get the lawn mower out.
  22. Yo bitches.. I am back. Just pulled the trigger on the best lot in Still Water. Now working on house plans to build with or without my wife. Priorities. Hope you all have been doing fantastic. And Horton, now that you are a celebrity-big-hitter-rich-website-mogul-father-to-Buford-long-haired-hippy, nice to see you!!

I am waiting for the day that a baller posts on this thread something like the following: I am a retired sumo wrestler. I was ranked in the Japanese Sumo South League, and I am really excited to be a part of this community! When that happens, I will ski butt naked in the middle of December and then will submit it to the news for their enjoyment........."Sweety, trust me when I say that the camera makes things far smaller than they are in real life....oh, and the water has the same effect!!!! I promise!!!" :)

I played most sports growing up, and had offers at two colleges to play basketball and chose instead to play collegiate football at a top 15 ranked college (at the time...they SUCK now!) After, I was an avid golfer and became a long driver (think Happy Gilmore) was ranked in the top 25 in the US for a few years. I can also hold my liquor with the best of them. :)
  25. I am thinking of possibly relocating to the Dallas or Austin areas. I know there are a bunch of my friends here who know everything there is to know about the two areas in question, so here is what I am looking for. 1. Want to live on a lake/ski lake that is very family friendly..ie a bunch of kids that live in said community. My kids range from 4-14 2. Price for existing houses to be 800k or less. 3. Would prefer to build my own house, so a vacant lot on a lake is ideal. 4. Want to be in a area with good schools and activities 5. Don't want to be more than 1 hour away from the metropolis. I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks in advance
