  1. So, My youngest turned two this week and wanted to go to a buffet restaurant called Chuck A Rama. It is the kind of place where you gain five pounds just looking at the food. But, the food is good, albeit fattening as hell, but damn, with 50 different meals, 20 different desserts, and an incredible aroma, the temptation was great enough to want to down enough calories to fill my 197 bow with water. But, I remembered this thread, and had a damn healthy salad. It is interesting to note, 90 percent of the patrons were like the ones in the photo.......fat.....as......hell!!!!! Thanks guys for giving me the motivation to be able to carve a turn instead of a turkey!!
  2. @aswinter05. If you subscribe to his YouTube channel, there are more there. there are also lots of videos of students practicing what he has taught them and you can see the progression they have made as well. @scotchipman 's link is very good as well. Hope that helps a bit
  3. @Horton, so on my new SenateC that is hopefully being shipped, I should probably lose the wing, correct? I am at 34 and my best score now is 5balls at 15 off
  4. @BarneyLongden. Why two wings? Are you coming across the wake that fast?
  5. @Horton, then why aren't you answering my prayers????? All I am asking for nightly is for my wife to let me move to Texas, to lose 30 pounds, and to ski like Sir Mapple. Seriously, get on it please...Oh wait, I also ask for no hangovers and for my wife to look like a different supermodel each day also. Simple things...
  6. @Horton, be nice to her, she is my cousin! I have a question, what bad habits does it teach, and why doesn't it help you til 28?
  7. @Horton, I would like to appoint you to a cabinet as well. If you pass the rigorous screening process Congress will put you through, I would like you to be my Secretary of Cut Your Damn Hair. @6balls, your appointment is the Ambassador of The Yearly Get Together. Work for you?
  8. @ShaneH, will u be my secretary of alcohol consumption? @Horton, my only political point is that the world would be a better place if more people skied! :) nothing more nothing less.
  9. Sitting at home watching the voting patterns of the great states of this the United States, a couple of thoughts came to mind. First, I was wishing Maine would have been red, and Georgia would have been blue. I also wish Ohio would have been red, and texas blue. I wish Washington would have been red and Arizona blue. Why do you ask? Because then America would have been a perfect slalom course!!! Don't these damn politicians realize that all they should focus on is getting more people in America skiing? Building more lakes with Slalom in mind would do more to unite the Country than all the rhetoric they can spew out. If I were president, I would do the following and the Country would be better off 4 years from now. Laws of Doug Brady 1. Every citizen shall ski 3 sets per week. This will help their pschye as well as rid the Country of the obesity.....err....fat-ass problem. 2. Every citizen shall do a monthly service project at the lake of their choice. Teach to serve others. 3. Every citizen shall get a damn job! No explanation needed 4. While the Country wants a new boat every year, sometimes you just don't have the money, so live within your damn means and quit spending the money of others. 5. If a boat from another Country messes with our water, they will not be allowed to boat 6. Finally, every citizen shall drink 2 beers a day. That's it folks. Skiing can solve the worlds problems!
  10. @Razorskier1, I think @MS was talking about the whole group, not just you and @6balls.
  11. @scuppers, k, please tell me what these are used for. sorry for being dumb on this, just trying to learn
  12. Also, you should have told your teacher you have turrets!
  13. you are hanging out and enjoying the company of young punks like @tfriess who are still in school!!!!! Damn, I am getting old. :)
  14. @gregy. Thanks for the words of wisdom....much appreciated. As for the wife finding out, maybe then she will realize how much I love this sport and how much I want to move. I shouldn't have to to feel this guilty about something that is not wrong.....My luck, I will end up on a Jerry Springer show. Wives of husbands who are cheating with their Radars. :) As for the injuries, I got some great news from the Doc today. I have a torn Labrum in the hip along with bone spurs from compression injuries from football. Bottom line, doesn't need to be operated on yet and the doctor mistook the bone spurs for a broken bone. As for the knee, a partial tear of the MCL and the meniscus. Be out for 2 months, BUT no surgery there as well. Doc said as soon as I can stand the pain, have at it! Too bad he doesn't know my pain threshold!!
  15. @ToddL. Not too much hotter than Utah in the summer....unfortunately. I travel to Texas monthly during the summer, and outside of the humidity, Utah is not far behind. Knowing you can't have it all....Texas is about as close to perfection as you can get. Take away 4 months from Utah, and it would be right there with you. What sucks is that I live right at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon, which is literally ten minutes away from Snowbird and Alta Ski Resorts and I drive an hour to water ski. Talk about irony.
  16. I consider Andy the best and also one of the nicest guys in the sport. Happy Birthday Sir Mapple.
  17. @Razorskier1, great photos. Great guns as well. You can really see your turn from zooming in on each of the images. I definitely like 3 and 4 the best. Good ones to posterize for sure.
  18. @aswinter05, I am posting a link of one of Seth Stisher's training videos. When you go to that link, there are a lot of other videos that are totally relevant and modern. I subscribed to his channel on YouTube and the information I have learned from his videos is awesome! I would go there.
  19. @ToddL. You, like @Horton, are a bastard as well, although I had to give you and awesome, cause that picture my friend was better than any thing I can imagine, including scantily-clad women! I so wish I could move to Texas.......Please God, appear to my wife and command her to move.....
  20. @6balls. Did I tell you I am changing my name to Douglas Brady Ross? So, what time next year cuz? :) I will be there--wouldn't want to miss a family reunion.
  21. @Razorskier1, k who is who? meaning, your brother and your boy?
  22. @RazorRoss3, @6balls, who is your old man? What is his user name here? Also, consider yourselves lucky you had what you had growing up. Don't get me wrong, I loved my dad tremendously, and he supported my sports activities vigorously, BUT, I wish I would have been skiing like you guys, cause I would have saved lots of pain, and would be much further in my advancement. BTW, my boy is 7 and my two girls are 9 and 12 and my baby is 2....yes, all are skiing, and will hopefully be on this site 20 years from now when @Horton finally cuts his hair.
  23. Wow! I didn't realize that what I was asking truly takes a college degree to get. This is incredible information. Because I can, I am giving you all likes for giving my mind some incredible things to ponder and learn. Now that we have discussed the different speed control devices, how do skiers have to ski differently now that they are in force? I know @6balls was saying you could no longer use brute force, and also that I am fat, and need to lose weight to take advantage, but how is the pull different? And finally, @Brent, I am your parole officer, so we will need to meet 4 times a year to make sure you are behaving. (I will bring my ski of course!!)
