  1. Being in the Promo Program for 8 years now, I assure you it’s not profitable, it does cost money and it’s in need of “Promo Incentive” by the LOC. Personally, with the changes that are evolving, if/when my dealer needs me, that will take first priority. Of course we do have a personal life and sometimes we have other plans. I’ve decided that if I’m asked to attend a tournament and if that event hasn’t been a good fit for me in the past, that may be a weekend where I help the dealer with a demo day or take a weekend with my family. As a Promo Rep, it’s not my place to suggest bigger incentives. If they want to keep us coming back, they need to come up with a good plan. At times, I just have to tell myself “I’m doing my part to promote the sport.” Thanks @dave2ball and @MS for your comments.
  2. 66º F her yesterday in Griffin, GA. At what temp do we go from a good Camaro wetsuit to a dry suit?
  3. Skiing at midnight and still having light of day..........that’s Too Cool!
  4. 77º F yesterday in Griffin, GA; just south of Atl. Camaro top is all that was needed.
  5. Have you ever reflected that many of us have been water skiing for over a half century? That sounds pretty cool to me.
  6. I just completed installation of a permanent course on a private lake. It was a lot of hard work and we made every mistake imaginable. I would not attempt a permanent course only to find out later that you’ve been denied the use of it. I’d go with a sinkable course and you’ll be skiing much sooner. If you did decide to go with a permanent course that has independent anchors, you need to get plenty of help and with people that know what they’re doing with the proper surveying instrument, etc. Placing anchors on the bottom of an uneven lake floor can be a nightmare.
  7. Since my profession is lubricant sales, I’ll add some general comments to this thread: API (American Petroleum Institute) SN is the latest spec for gasoline engines; then you choose the 15W-40 viscosity. Since ski boats idle too much and throttle too much, both create fuel dilution even in the latest engines. Fuel dilution in the crankcase pulls the oil’s viscosity down, thus don’t use anything lighter in vis than a 15W-40 unless maybe a synthetic 5W-50 that meets API SN. To summarize, no 10W-30, 5W-30, or 0W-30. Last, I’m not sure if all synthetics do well with the chemical mixtures of fuel with their base oils, additives, etc. That said, ski boats are not a good place to push for extended drains. Change it at 50 hours.............engines aren’t cheap. I have an oil analysis from my 2017 Nautique. I’ll look it up and try to post it in a later thread.
  8. Love that post. I feel the same way. I had dreamed of buying land, building a ski lake south of Atlanta, and building a house. The math comes to a million +. Then I found a house 20 min from my then ‘current’ home on a ski lake with an old un-used slalom course. I bought it for $300k, remodeled, added new course and I’m still pinching myself. How Blessed I am at 62 to continue this love affair. Praise God.
  9. If I wanted a Nautique with a tower, I’d go with what they have that does have a tower option; any 200 Nautique. I’m told they have a pre-bracket already installed within the gunnels. Just back up one or more model years.
  10. Two tugs but one is FOR SALE. Love this thread; looking at all the pretty boats
  11. Go with the HO Omni or V type X (VTX). I have a VTX for sale but haven’t posted it yet, 67”.
  12. We’ll have more “Heavy Weights” trying Plus today behind Rev S (200 SN w/6.2). Maybe we can come back with more positive feedback.
  13. I am on a MOB and this is probably my 3rd year. I like it the Best! No problemo.
  14. @racerdjs , Congrats on the purchase and ownership of your ‘19 Ski Nautique. Do you know which boat Mfg’er makes the most advanced 3EV ski boat? You own it - the ‘19 Ski Nautique. Do you know what boat company makes the 2nd best 3EV ski boat on the market? It’s the 2018 Nautique 200. Nuff said. Enjoy!!
  15. I have the ‘18 model year Promo Boat w/6.2 and it had Rev R but I just upgraded it to Rev S this past Friday; haven’t ski’d it yet - hope to today. Also, I still have my ‘17 Promo Boat and I also added Rev S to it. Go to Ski-it-Again and look for Promo Boat in GA. I’m going to try +
  16. @Lobonator , the last post from @Frank_MA sums it up. IMO it’s Omni. I think I’m gonna get one too and set it up for occasional skiing and for my guests.
  17. @tru-jack , it’s the prop. I had a 2011 Nautique 200 Promo Boat and the RPM’s were so high that I changed the prop and then all was fine. Get the Acme 654 and you’ll be fine. I have a brand new one that I would consider selling because I need to buy a 668 for my 6.2 H6 Nautique Promo Boat so I will have a spare. To answer your original question, I don’t know my rpm’s but I “do know” it fixes the problem and all will be well.
  18. The Omni would be a perfect choice for you and it appears that you have chosen the proper length. I’m not sure on the Radar boots but in most cases, the boots are interchangeable on different brands of skis. I used a Radar Toe Plate on my HO VTX.
  19. Stay with 50. I have done a few oil analysis and there is good reason to stay with that change interval for oil and filter.
  20. I’m with @ScottScott ...... Take care of your boat but use the darn thing...... It’s a Boat. Wipe it down, Vac it out, put a fan in it. I take dang good care of mine without being anal when others get in. I “do” try to keep dirty shoes out of it and most people know to board barefooted. Shorten the LIne and let’s go Get Wet!
  21. With a Nautique, when you start the mapping process, it will ask you (or let you select) the type of course. The first one you see is a “6 buoy” as that is the default. I believe you can select the ‘right arrow’ to choose otherwise. Try this.
  22. @Drago the Used 200’s have about dried up on SIA as their are only 2 on the site For Sale on the Promo side. I will be posting this one soon: On pricing, last Fall my dealer said that a GS20 Nautique Super Air could be purchased for just under $100K so I believe a new ‘19 Ski could/would sell for < the GS20, comparably equipped regarding features and gelcoat options.
  23. If a skier hasn’t ski’d tournaments, then that column would be blank and everyone could see that this person doesn’t ski tournaments but he posts practice. It wouldn’t carry as much weight if he never skis tournaments but might get him headed to the tournaments. Visual incentive.
  24. I just looked up my scores in order to be reminded of the “spreadsheet format” on the website. What if a column or two were added for practice scores and a +/- column that compares your practice score to your tournament scores and then a column to project where you “could” rank if you ski’d a tournament up to your practice. This would highlight incentive to get your butt to the tournaments. I hope this makes sense if I explained correctly.
