  1. Tough to find a DD for rent. If not impossible. I think the best marina is Antelope Point but you are 5-6 hours up to the San Juan arm to get out of the crowds. We go out of AP and go about an hour to Padre or Gunsight and find it just fine. You have to get up early to foot or Slalom but easily done every day. It would be worth it to drive your own boat I am thinking or ship it down but it will be pricey to do that.
  2. 1994 Ski Centurion Falcon 2648 hours original engine. I'm not sure if I am the winner or the loser so far.
  3. @Marco‌ I was snow skiing (coaching some under 16 big mountain skiers) I hit a cliff a bit too hot and over jumped where I should have landed and landed on a much less steep location. So I landed a 60 ft cliff and came to a stop too quickly without enough angle to dissipate the speed. The compression of the spine basically burst the weakest link. Moral of the story stop doing stupid stuff before you turn 46 as your body will betray you.
  4. I had no choice on surgery as I had a vert that was crushed and in 20 pieces. I was walking on a treadmill (in my turtle shell) 1 week after surgery. I was not allowed to do anything but walk for 4 months. I did not do any formal PT at all. I am the type that hates to sit still and I kept asking about PT and the response was that he wanted to keep me from doing things as every appointment I would ask if I could do something like swimming or biking etc. I was in very good shape before the accident. Finally he allowed me to bike and even lightly jog on a treadmill. After 6 months I was back in the gym working out. I lift for strength (even though I am a puss still) but since my surgery I have run 5 full ironmans and 4 halfs. I have a stretching routine that I do twice a day and Yoga twice a week. I was 46 when I had my accident and I really have no ill effects from the surgery. I can't put my palms on the floor like I used to able to do but I am more limber than most still. Plus I have a cool scar.
  5. I'm not going to get much lighter at 6 1 and 173lbs I could use to gain a bit of muscle.
  6. The brendella would have the exhaust inside the stringers not outside of them. The 94 should have the lifetime stringer guarantee even if they are wood. That being said you can find a much better tug for that price. I have a 94 centurion that is showroom quality and it is not worth that much in my opinion. For $10,000 you can find a lot of all fiberglass tugs out there.
  7. Build your own. Easy to do and cost me less than $20.
  8. What are you looking at it to do? Recreational or deep course running. I am assuming you are talking the eilte Direct Drive not V-Drive. It is not the best wake for skiing by any stretch of the imagination. It was produced more of an all around boat. Can you ski it in a course absolutely but you will not get as deep as you would with a pure slalom tug. The construction is very similar to what they are doing today with once piece topdeck/interior put onto the hull. There is not wood in the boat and should not have any issues. Most likely has a Merc Black scorpion which can have an issue with vapor locking but can be taken care of with a little work. All in all it would be a very good all around boat but not great for any one water sport be it skiing or wakeboarding.

    PP upgrade?

@jhughes any auto supply store will have carb springs
  10. That is an awesome accomplishment. Congrats and heres to 30 more
  11. I have had the pleasure of Skiing with Stein on two occasions and he is great guy. I also skied many times with another snow skiing legend Alf Engen. But skiing with Bode was like skiing with Evel kneivel on steroids he is and unbeliveable free skier. I had the pleasure of teaching at Alta for 20 years. To compare snow skiing and water skiing is like apples and oranges. Just because they both use angle, rotation, and pressure. they are used in very different ways and in a different manner.
  12. Wow that is impressive. I think he runs deeper than a lot of us.

    PP upgrade?

I have had my upgrade for about a month now and would upgrade again in a heart beat. Easier to use and the feel is great. is it ZO no. But it is damn close. The main benefit for me was the ease of use for my wife and daughter.
  14. Funny you post this as I too was wondering if I should upgrade from classic. I had mine out the first time with the upgrade this weekend. I did not have it in a course but it worked fantastic for me and I did notice the similar feel to ZO. Had no issues with it trying to settle in. I hope I am as happy in the course.

    PP upgrade?

@GOODESkier‌ thanks for the endorsement. It arrives today so I should be able to test it out tomorrow. I am going to calibrate it using capture mode tomorrow because I am in a tight time crunch and have to be off the lake early for a lacrosse tournament. I am looking forward to it.

    PP upgrade?

#east tx skier is saying exactly what support at PP told me. In practice mode it supposedly runs off gps speed and is based of baseline rpm. He also said that Z box will make speed adjustments quicker based on accelerometer. I hope that it works as stated. I will say the user interface appears to be easier to navigate.

    PP upgrade?

I just ordered SG upgrade with Z-box. After talking to the tech at PP it think it will fit my needs really well. I need something a bit more intuitive to use for my wife when she pulls in open water. All the people who drive in the course I am not worried about and we don't have a short setup really. Do you invert the tach on Mech linkage boats as well?
  18. I have not had a wing on for years. I am 34 mph and get into 28 off. I skied with a wing for years and cant remember the location that I skied in florida but the coach took the wing off and I picked up 4 balls on the first time out wingless. I have not looked back. I am old and learned to ski on skis that you had to slow down by getting pressure on the front foot and that with a wing took the speed down too much.

    PP upgrade?

I don't use it for trick I do use it for my daughters who are from 22mph to 28 mph. I do have a paddle wheel.

    PP upgrade?

I have read about every thread on SG and Z-box. I am considering upgrading my PP on my 94 Centurion Falcon with Merc 350 Mag. Currently have PP pro. Now that I am reading all of the threads about people not having the consistency that they would desire through the course I am doubting my decision. Should I upgrade? if so to SG or to SG with Z-Box? Will I have the issues that I am reading about of either hot gates or slow gates and hot during course or slow then fast and all over the place? I was hoping upgrading would make the consistency of my pull easier to achieve not harder. I ski 50% in course and 50% open water and run into 28 off on a good day at 34mph.
  21. I skied with Dick Kellner once with my uncle who was the Utah state slalom champion when I was a teenager. My uncle who is still a ski instructor at Alta came out with me last year and he was 76 and ran 28 off at 34 mph on his old EP 72 inch ski. I just wanted to stay in the boat after that because I am not worthy.
  22. All three of my daughters have learned to slalom on those ages 5. I put a rear toe piece on one and a larger fin as well.
  23. I don't think OP is that interested in this topic.
  24. I had a three level fusion from L4-S1 because I shattered L5 in a snow skiing accident. That was three years ago on Dec 31st. It takes some time to feel 100% ok for me its more like 90% but it does not stop me from doing anything. There are times when I fall that I feel it and it scares me a bit. You will be much better because you are not actually missing bone. They had to remove my L5 al but completely.
  25. They are out there. My 94 centurion is still going strong. It has wood stringers with a lifetime warrantee and when I replaced my carpet last year I looked at the structure as I had read a lot of threads on nautiques getting new stringers. I took it to a well respected fiberglass shop to look at it and they drilled a couple holes and all is still as original according to them. They then repaired the holes and new carpet went down.
