  1. Good stuff. I missed you guys by a week. I was there the 9th and 10th...and left with a T2.
  2. I would consider a 9900 mid-ride as well. I find it to be similar to a wide ride.
  3. Is the G5 the same as the Endo? G5 > Endo > Elite Alpha > Elite? I saw SIA29951 on SIA and he says..."The Endo comes from the same mold as the Elite Alpha and is built with a highly refined compression molding process. The Endo uses a lightweight PVC core and aerospace grade carbon fiber, just like the Elite skis. The Endo also utilizes the same "Sweet Spot Layup" as the Elite line of skis..." I also read somewhere that the Elite Alpha was the same as the "Elite". So I'm confused, because the G5 is nothing like the original Elite, right?
  4. I think it's a cool event. I agree with Wish's commentary.
  5. Guys.... what techniques or practices have you used, or seen, worked well for gaining confidence at 38? Slowing down? (M4, so I'm at 34) Shadowing the bouys to learn a rythm or feel? ALSO, I've become accustomed to sking wide enough to have my line of site out at the bouy line...even sometimes at 35! Not the best thing to do, right? I'm trying to train myself to ski just around the bouy not get my whole body around the bouy. Make sense? Any suggestions? Thanks Perfect example. To quote Schnitz..."Look where the buoys are in his turns! Basically, his body is on the up-course side of the buoy while his ski is on the down-course side. He is wasting no real estate!"
  6. @lpskier - what did you like about the Connelly over the N1 and 6.0?

    I got a 67 and 68 to demo. After one set on 67 and then 68, stuck with the 68. I felt it turned better than the 67....go figure. On the 68 out of the box went up the line to 5@35 with a healthy tailwind. That's good for me right now. I feel it's fast and easy to ride. Off-side is fairly automatic, it never came close to stalling and any hitches are very minimal. I could turn closer to the ball with binding back a notch (30.25). The on-side is a bit perplexing though. I can stay on the tail moreso and bring the ski around (when I want to) no problem, but when trying to focus on maintaining tip pressure (I'm trying to use the whole ski to turn and maintaining speed), it does a quick snappy turn that I'm having trouble adjusting to. So I'm debating trying to tweak the ski to suit me or focus on changing my habits at 2-4 of jamming the tail of the ski around and subsequntly loosing precious speed/momentum. (34mph and getting old! LOL)
  8. Schnitz is still a proponent of them. He told me he is developing his own variation of the concept (no name drop intended, lol)
  9. Good question! I just coined the phrase "ski rodeo", which happens every year the manufactors come up with "all new" skis and we feel there's always a better stick to ride. I'm waiting on an XT tweaked by Schnitz (with ventrals), hoping it will get me from side to side with less effort. I just got a 67 and 68 Helix today, so we'll see. I rode one set on a Vapor Sunday. THAT was interesting. So I wouldn't count that out in the future either. Also still have the GMid-ride that wasn't bad at all (in fact did my TournPB on). This brings up the topic of trying new skis vs staying on a ski to really learn how to ride it. (sounds like a good forum topic to me)
  10. It's in good condition. No scratches or dents. The inserts have metal reacted with the stainless screws a bit, but still work fine. If anyone is interested, I can supply detailed pics. $1200 Thanks, SB
  11. @ShaneH...those are good points. Can you elaborate on "I started working on getting higher up on the boat and matching the boat speed as I turned in"? I think I get what you're talking about but not sure. At what point is "turning in"? Thanks

    Does anyone know if either the 6.0 or 6.1 varied noticeably between model years? thanks for the feedback.

    @34, I'm close to 200lb, 6'2...into 38 off...so that's a good question.

    I've been mulling over trying a 6.0 or 6.1 Can someone comment on comparison of either of the Mapples vs a Goody XT? Thanks (I'm on a goode N-1 now...maybe I should be on a larger N-1, but it seems too slow for the amount of effort I'm putting in)
  15. I need to buy some. Any suggestions on the best or best deal out there? Also, a buddy has a cool aluminum adjustable gauge tool that someone gave him. Does anyone have a bead on where to get something like that? Thanks, SB
  16. @skier2788, do you have the link for that post from Rossi?
  17. I've had two fusions (C5-C7) 20 years apart and I'm hanging in there. I believe in chiropractic maintenance and decompression devices.
