Very cool find Mateo!! I think I have seen skiing on Google Earth before I just do not remember which site. The link was not working for some reason so I took some screen shots

I've been cataloguing all the different ski lakes on google earth for my own amusement. I typically just scan the areas I think may have some until I find 'em. I'm still looking for Eric Lee's lake. If'n anyone out there has the inclination, I'd appreciate addresses or coordinates of your local ski pond. JP :)

At my parents, so I have no google earth access here, but last time I looked at dream lake estates google earth pic had an active skier.  Located in Huxley, IA...south of Ames.

I am not quite sure how to link tho the right location but on our lake when using the Google Maps satellite view you can see a boat pulling a skier at the end of the course.

Hopefully these work for my lakes. The first one is the shrimp farm lakes (I normally ski at the one on the left). The second one is the Mecca site which we are developing into a ski club or homesites.

Anyone interested in buying/partnering?

Ok guys, thanks for all the feedback and locations. I have updated quite a few places and the file is now growing larger. I didn't do a count but it's amazing how many global sites are in it.

 

i've emailed the file to the website ruler so it should be online sometime in the near future.

This is Sunset Ski Ranch Oasis in Mecca, CA. not far from Palm Springs, CA. In the middle of the picture, our lakes are horizontal, East/West. Top one is a rental lake, lower is a member lake. One of Eric Lee's places is lower right and a abandoned lake at Adohr Farms is lower left (with turn islands)

15.8 is dated today as a slew of sites were emailed to me and I updated the Master file. Later this week I was going to email it to JTH for replacing to the current.

Here's one in Manhattan. It's very difficult to get on - the owner built it for his family to use, but I know a few people who have gained access. For some reason Google Earth doesn't recognize the Lake's coordinates though. 45.514526, -111.215217. JP :)

all three sets of your coordinates were in mountain ranges.

 

i'd recommend putting your mouse over the lakes, then either writing down the coordinates down at the bottom of your screen or taking screen shots of the coordinates.

 

btw, have you downloaded and looked at the latest file as it has quite a few lakes near some of your spots in Mt.

Thanks Scoke! That's what I did, but for some reason it doesn't want to return to those coordinates when I plug 'em in. Steven - I ski at Otter Tail Lake. It's eight miles south of Three Forks. I'd give you the coordinates, but they don't seem to be working. JP :)

To add Trophy Lake Estates IV in Minnesota, just type in New Germany, MN.  The two ski lakes are just north west of the little town, very easy to spot.

Razor and I ski there some as it splits the distance for us.

The site address listed for Sunset Ski Ranch Oasis is wrong. our lake is 1/4 mile north, there are two lakes that are East/West orientation.
