Baller Jörgen Jansson Posted May 1, 2011 Baller Share Posted May 1, 2011 Got home a Nano twist mid 65 right. Ordered one left. How do I check myself if there really is a right or if it is wrong sticker. Any easy way to measure?
Baller thager Posted May 1, 2011 Baller Share Posted May 1, 2011 Call the company or just ski it. For what its worth one of the best skis I ever had was bevel tuned for a RFF skier. I'm Lff.
Baller MSJ Posted May 1, 2011 Baller Share Posted May 1, 2011 The twist for a righty should be "counter clock wise". If you put the ski on a table and look down the ski, you should see the right side of the end of the ski turned up. However, I've been wondering what an opposite twist would feel like. You should try it and report back. Good luck. Mark
KM
Also, check the serial # of the ski. If it ends with an "R" it is RFF, if it ends with an "L" it is LFF.

Baller Jörgen Jansson Posted May 2, 2011 Author Baller Share Posted May 2, 2011 Have not tried it. Called Goode, they would check with the production. Since then I have not heard anything more.
Baller Jörgen Jansson Posted May 2, 2011 Author Baller Share Posted May 2, 2011 If I measure as MJS says it's probably a right ski. Though the difference is very small but it's there. Has measured from the rear of the back binding and backward.
KM
@MSJ, To confirm the clockwise vs. counter-clockwise longitudinal twist, are you looking down the ski from the tail?
Baller MSJ Posted May 3, 2011 Baller Share Posted May 3, 2011 Yep, if you put the ski on a flat surface and look down the ski, from the tail, you will see it.
KM
My Nano arrived yesterday. I think it may have the opposite twist also. I ordered a RFF, the sticker on the tip of the ski says "Right", however my ski has a clockwise longitudinal twist if you look down the ski from the tail (i.e. the left side of the tail is twisted up). I will call Goode on Monday.
Baller Jörgen Jansson Posted May 14, 2011 Author Baller Share Posted May 14, 2011 what does the serial number say?
KM
Serial # MID-65HN1050501R
KM
Called Goode today. According to Goode, the RFF ski tail should twist to the right (clockwise) and the LFF ski tail should twist to the left (counterclockwise). I believe MSJ's comment on May 1st is contradictory to this.
Baller Ed_Johnson Posted May 16, 2011 Baller Share Posted May 16, 2011 KM, Just to be clear, if you anchored the tail flat on a table, looking down the ski, the tip of the RFF ski should point left? Let us know how you like the way it skis. What ski are you coming off of? Thanks, ED
KM
If you lay the ski flat on a table without anchoring anything, the TAIL of a RFF would be twisted right (clockwise), so if you would anchor the tail of a RFF ski flat to the table the TIP would be twisted left (counterclockwise). This makes sense because you turn your off side with your front foot, and your on side with your rear foot. I am currently riding a 66.5" 186 AMP Goode 9900SL Traditional. Moving to a 65" 188 AMP Nano Mid.
Baller Ed_Johnson Posted May 17, 2011 Baller Share Posted May 17, 2011 Thanks, KM, my Nano arrives Thurs. according to Fed Ex and the Twist will be the first thing I check. I know for me, going from the traditional to the Mid was a huge improvement. Let us know how you like your Nano.
