Baller Hugh Nichols Posted September 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted September 22, 2011 I am trying out a Goode 9960 mid-ride 66" 208amp. I can't seam to get the front down. I added some tip, (was 6.779, I went to 6.870) that helped some. BTW bindings are stock DFT. I was thinking of adding a ventral wing. What do you guys think...... Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted September 22, 2011 Gold Member Share Posted September 22, 2011 Also, how many sets so far? I personally am hesitant to make adjustments to the ski before I've had a reasonable chance to adjust myself to its optimal usage. But if something is indeed off, I would guess it's the boot position. And you may need to try both forward and back -- it's hard to guess which one will cause a given symptom because of the body's natural tendency to overcompensate. Baller Ed_Johnson Posted September 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted September 22, 2011 The front Mini Ventral greatly helps the Goode. See Chad and Chet's Video. It had a drastic effect on the Nano Mid to keep it from slididng down course off the apex. I highly recommend it. I also use it on the Sans Rival and the HO S-2. grab2go
I've been on a 66" 228amp for about 3 months and I'm up a full pass. It seems to be working really well for me. I'm almost 190 lbs. and my bindings are at 29.59. I know thats forward of stock, but it seems to work maybe because I'm on the light side for a 228amp. With standard calipers I'm at 6.923 length (tips), 2.501 depth, and .716 dft. I haven't tried the ventral, because I doubt that it would do much for me... Baller scoke Posted September 22, 2011 Baller Share Posted September 22, 2011 6.820, 2.50, .722 boots 29.5 then move them back 1/8" each set. Ventral for what youre describing might be a bad aid. Probably need macro adjustments then micro adjustments.

grab2go
Hugh, a Wiley front plate will probably change your front binding plate placement. The Goode hardshells are pretty thin compared to most rubber bindings. I measured where my heal was in relation to the back of the Goode hardshell ~ 9/16 in. I had switched from Animals which were about 1" from my heal to the rubber above the horseshoe. My guess would be to start at a little over 29" and go forward or back from there. I've never measured the Wiley plate...
Baller ForrestGump Posted September 23, 2011 Baller Share Posted September 23, 2011 Hugh, the numbers scoke gave are flat jaws and is what the Goode skiers are using for the most part. If you're using a caliper with the bevel in the jaw, you could be way off from there.
Baller scoke Posted September 23, 2011 Baller Share Posted September 23, 2011 6.76 old style. Fin settings are always crucial but I am thinking boot placement is even more clutch than usual due to wider surface area and non-traditional shape and the rocker as well.
