Baller MattP Posted January 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 2, 2013 I use the new sliding loop from MasterLine so no more looping and rope wear! Always double the first line then single the rest.
Baller Chef23 Posted January 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 2, 2013 I like your pylon.
Baller GAJ0004 Posted January 3, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 3, 2013 It depends on the rope and the pylon. I have the Performance Pure slalom lines. I use the double loop. I used to pull the line through the end loop and slip it over the pylon. It wore out ropes pretty quick. I was unable to do the double loop with my last set of ropes. Baller 6balls Posted January 3, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 3, 2013 Single looper before, now a MasterLine loop slider...thank you Santa (Mrs. 6balls).
Baller jedgell Posted January 3, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 3, 2013 Use to single loop. Have had In Tow knotless for years and just got the sliding loop US Gear so only single loop with other skiers ropes.
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted January 3, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted January 3, 2013 just got a sliding 9.75M Masterline from @jdarwin, very nice, and nice granite @mrs_ms
Baller tfriess Posted January 3, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 3, 2013 ALWAYS single. I've actually never seen the double method done before, so that's new to me. Now that I have the knotless mainline from ML, I don't have to worry. The sad part is I'm a 15 offer so is actually doesn't even matter. Received it as a gift, otherwise I wouldn't bought it. Baller wilecoyote Posted January 3, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 3, 2013 @tfriess, thanks for the LOL! I haven't even managed a full pass at 15 yet and I'm going to buy a segmented rope in hopes it'll be shortened by the end of this season. Hope springs eternal! Baller Mrs_MS Posted January 3, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted January 3, 2013 Sounds like we need the loop slider rope now....it never ends $$$$$$
Baller Waternut Posted January 3, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 3, 2013 Neither... We aren't super serious at the lake I ski at and the guy who owns the lake said he's seen ropes pop off if the big loop is just laid on the pylon. We pull the mainline through the loop and put that on the pylon which pretty much makes a noose around the pylon. You lose an inch or two on your length though but the owner is the only one who can get into deep shortline and he doesn't care.
Baller skier2788 Posted January 3, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 3, 2013 Im with @jfw432 thats the way I was taught a long time ago. Have popped the rope off the pylon using the single loop method before
Baller_ The_MS Posted January 3, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted January 3, 2013 Every inch counts.
Baller Waternut Posted January 3, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 3, 2013 I agree that every inch counts...that's why I stay at 15 off. I have size issues and bigger is better! lol
Baller 6balls Posted January 4, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 4, 2013 @skier2788 I don't typically see the rope coming off if the knot is split and then snugged around the pylon. The skiers who don't split the knot yet single loop, thereby letting the knot get squeezed into "it will never open again" by having it on the front of the pylon single-looped...I've seen that come off with regularity. No likey.
Baller skier2788 Posted January 4, 2013 Baller Share Posted January 4, 2013 @6balls that is what happened to me. The driver didnt split the knot and just put it on. Weird feeling having the handle in your hand but no boat. I have broken a few ropes and that is an even worse feeling.
