Corey Vaughn runs an official 1@43 at the LaPoint tournament.

It was only a matter of time before he ran the pass. Corey has been knocking down scores in deep 41 off for some time now. A few weeks ago Corey ran 41 for his first time in tournament, but in a run off against Joel Howley (tied 4@41). This unfortunately is not an official score. He had to ski 3.25@41 to make the finals at the US Open which was the highest cut in Pro history. He beat out KC Wilson in a run off who skied a PB to tie for the final spot. The World Championships are just 2 weeks away. I would not count Corey out of the running for a podium spot this year.

Today he joins an elite group of skiers.

Jeff Rogers - 1997

Andy Mapple - 1998

Ben Favret - 2002 - Boat Path Issue

Jamie Beaushane - 2003

Chris Parrish - 2005

Will Asher - 2008

*Thomas Degasperi - 2009

Nate Smith - 2010

Jon Travers - 2012

Freddie Winter - 2014

Corey Vaughn - 2015

Jeff Rogers - 55k 2012

Andy Mapple - 55k 2014

*Frederic Halt - 55k 2014

* In a runoff. Does not count as an official score

@SkiKolb I don't have video but I have a great mental image!

Cory ran 4@41 yesterday at WPB and was in the groove. Yogi Berra was wrong. Nice guys don't always finish last.

Shout out to driver Jeff Gilbert.

Not to be overlooked is KLP running 39 all three rounds.

Great day for Mapple Skis and Centurion Boats.

I do not think a 36 MPH skier besides Parrish has run into 43 on a Mapple Ski. Andy would be thrilled.

This is not the first time a 41 has been run in a record tournament behind a Carbon Pro but I know the folks at Centurion are also pretty darn happy.
