@wish on the West Coast when you are going to tournaments the big three are Nautique, Malibu and Centurion. I am aware of that Centurions are a bit rare in Florida but I don't think it's appropriate to include them with off brand and defunct boat companies.

@Horton it's deep history of boats..70s 80s 90s and 2000s. And no, not rare in FL at all. The 3 exclusions have been big players nation wide in most of that time frame and truly the ones that get the most talked about. Centurion has not been a big tournament player until only recent and good for them that's great. We need the pricing competition and to me Centurion is the only company getting into the game at great price point. A crap ton of boat companies have gone out of business and Centurian is not one of them. My hope is they stick around for a few decades and push the industy into making boats not so crazy expensive. Hell, if I was in the market for new..6L CP would be in my boat house. Instead I have a boat that will be 20yrs old next year. That sucks (not really cause it's a 97SN). It's a fluff questions anyway. Was just looking to see if others have had the chance to ski behind a variety of inboards (like a 65 Massey Ferguson haha..) and especially the odd ones when there were like 15 inboard manufacturers. Maybe some day I'll come buy yours when your done with it..gotta be the right colors though ;) So give us your list.. :)

@LZywicki1 just wondering if the Glastron was an inboard. They did make one the same year my dad bought our family boat. The inboard and our 1964 outboard had the same hull. Not sure how many yrs Glastron made that inboard but it was cool to come accross the history when my dad restored ours 10 yrs ago.

@thager very cool. Ya, there was all 3 in 64. Same hull but an IO, full inboard and an outboard version. I believe that 2 of the 3 were at the MN Boat show that year when my dad decided to go with the outboard version. Good choice as that boat went through 4 outboards over the yrs and it had flatter wakes then the other two I'm guessing. Great to learn behind

I still ski behind a Moomba Boomerang often. Tiny wake, nice pull.

Also:

Multiple outboard ski boats, incl.:

J-Craft

Barefoot Mastercraft

Flightcraft Outboard

Hydrodyne

Glastron

First inboard I ever skied behind was a '79 Supreme

Various Supras

Ski Ray

Moomba Outback/Kanga

One day, I'd like to get a ride behind one of those tiny 93/94 Centurion Waves.

Home made Porch boat with an 18 HP Johnson and metal top!

Home made John Boat 19 feet with a 65 HP Johnson. (Barefooted on this one at 14!)

1968 Chevrolet Rally Sport Convertible in our swimming pool!

1970 Cabin Cruiser with a 75HP not sure of the brand.

Glastron Carlson

Home made Jet Boat with a big block ford 460 we barefooted 10 at one time.

Barefoot Nautique

Any boat that I could try out! (many bass boats)

Now I get serious!

1977 Ski Tique (first inboard owned man it had a wake!)

1979 Ski Nautique ( A little smaller wake but still big)

1982 Ski Nautique 2001 (owned this one for 17 years first boat I ran 35 off behind!)

1994 Ski Nautique

Then I leave Correct Craft! (only because I got a great deal on the next boat)

1996 Malibu Response LXI

Now 2008 Malibu Response LXI (wake it fine and it has zero off I may break my record of 17 years I owned that Nautique with this one!)

From 1982 until 1990 any approved tournament ski boat (American Skier, Brendella, Centurion, Supreme, Nautique, Mastercraft etc. my favorite of the era may have been the American Skier the Brendella was good on the skier too (not the driver though!)

Now they are all good! I really do not care which one pulls up at a tournament!

I realize you said Inboard, but I have to first list

15' Boston Whaler

because that was my main tow boat (in a slalom course!) for about the first 15 years of my skiing career. In the more modern era:

Hydrodyne: I think my first tournament round was behind one. Really liked this and almost bought as my first boat.

Infinity: Not a fan. 36/-22 was very very hard behind the one I skied.

Tige: @rayn had a real nice one for quite a few years.

I feel like I must have skied behind an American Skier, but I can't think of specifically when.

Guess my list is pretty short!

I too started behind a 15' Boston Whaler with a 55 hp Evinrude. We also had wooden double handles. I finally grew enough that it was really hard to drive straight and could barely pull me up. I broke my dad down and he bought a 1986 Nautique promo that still runs and gets used for river skiing during the summer.

I have also skied behind the following non big three inboards

Ski Brendella

MB

Centurion LaPoint

Marlin Skier (rare and bad)

California Skier

Air Nautique

Supra

Ski Supreme

Tige

Just going with mostly Oldies; leaving out the normal modern stuff:

Garwood speedboat (first learner)

Chris Craft 10hp Kit boat 12' Not enough power to get me up, even as a kid

Friend next door's 14 footer with 25hp. We would pull each other w/o an observer,

well before the Nanny Government water cops and observers required.

Century Resorter ~1958 model

Glasspar G3 (40 & 75 hp)

Glasspar SuperG (a real lemon)

Drag boat (first marathon attempt--learned from failure)

Century Coronado ~1962 model; 2nd marathon attempt in 1963--successful

Plenty of TWIN RIGS Mainly Crosbys

Ski Nautique 1963 model

Hydrodyne I/O

And...Ski Rixen cable, including jumping

@horton MasterCraft is still one of the big 3 on the west coast. Malibu seems to have been replaced by CarbonPro
