turbogoose
Thinking about relocating to the Mt. Dora area. Can anybody give me some info about Lake Saunders, e.g. ski course, shallow, level consistency, restrictions, water quality, Nessie?? Thanks... Baller Orlando76 Posted June 27, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 27, 2018 I don’t know too much about Saunders as it’s basically private. Appears Like it could be shallow at times because it just looks like water level could vary more than the other local lakes in the area. Honestly I haven’t found any real estate in that area that seems desirable IMHO. And no appearant course that I can see and hadn’t heard of any from my old skiing buds. Waters pretty clear. Within walking distance to the Golden Corral for some pot roast and strawberry shortcake which is a plus.
Baller GWaterski Posted June 30, 2018 Baller Share Posted June 30, 2018 Other lakes in the Mt Dora area with slalom courses are Lake Victoria and Lake Ola (which has 2). See my PM if you seek closer in towards Orlando...I know most lakes with courses around here :-)
Baller Orlando76 Posted July 2, 2018 Baller Share Posted July 2, 2018 There’s also two permanent portables on both sides of “The Causeway” which is the thin strip of land shown between lake Dora and Lake beauclaire.
Baller Orlando76 Posted August 13, 2018 Baller Share Posted August 13, 2018 @turbogoose how has the search been? Last week I looked at a House partly on behalf of my inlaws and ourselve, that has access to Lake Ola with a decent view of the lake. It’s not a fixer-upper but does need updating. I just couldn’t convince everybody in the group to pull the trigger. Not sure what you have in mind but I see great potential.
turbogoose
Hey Ya'll, I am still researching the Mt. Dora / Travares areas for permanent relocation, waterskiers and slalom courses. Will be in Mt. Dora Sept. 14th - 23rd. Please reply back or text me (615) 496-4706 with any leads on lake houses < $400,000 and/or a chance for a ski ride. fyi: I have a realtor that I am loyal to. Baller dave2ball Posted September 8, 2018 Baller Share Posted September 8, 2018 @turbogoose I put a course in a couple of years ag here in Florida . The permit process is a nitemare. Do your homework and be patient if you have to get a permit for a course.
Baller Orlando76 Posted September 8, 2018 Baller Share Posted September 8, 2018 5628 Trimble Park rd is fabulous setting. There’s a sneaked in but sunken course almost within site of there. Public lake but buying private lake is even tougher.

Will take a closer look at it when I'm in town. Let me know if you want to hook up for a ski ride.
