Do you wear a mouth guard when jumping?

I've heard of jumpers chipping a tooth from falling during a jump and have taken to wearing a mouth guard. Is this common? I don't know of anyone in our tournaments who uses one.

I’ve only seen a handful of the big boys use mouth guards, very few short of the 200’ club use one.

And I suggest to every jumper I take out to where one

Especially the young kids with 7k worth of braces on there teeth

I wore one after getting a ski under the jaw in a crash. My dentist at the time (also a jumper) said he was afraid of swallowing one but we decided that the solution to that was just to use one with a the chin strap- what's the downside?

I used to, so did my daughter. Wife is a dentist and insisted. It really is a good idea with few, if any, downsides. Teeth are expensive to fix not to mention the soft tissue damage they can cause in the mouth with a hard fall.

I stand corrected! I agree its a good idea with no downside. Just my observation that not many jumpers use one.

I started using one when I got braces, but stopped as soon as I got them off.
