Simple question: Why does HO and D3 both have skis named EVO?

Also, Radar Vapor Pro and HO Pro.

meh. 'EVO' is popular in Mtn bike models also.

Shorthand for evolution. Supposedly they are trying something or combination of materials and hardware thats the next big thing

@Brewski well both D3 and HO wanted to call their new ski the Newski Brewski but their attorneys agreed it wasn't worth fighting the trademark violation out with you in court.

At one time, there was a (Jobe) 'Carbon V' too....and the 'V' *was* in fact for the forked tail.

Let's face it, this sport is loaded with great innovators but is severely lacking in great marketing people.

The Freeride EVO was a pretty radical ski. If you've seen or skied one, the first thing you notice is the extremely flexible tail section (more flex than any other ski on the market) and the lack of tail taper (keeps beginner skiers much more centered on the ski).....when the D3 came along, it was a tournament ski and in a completely different category. The Freeride EVO was the next evolution of our Freeride line (beginner/entry level category)...hence the EVO designation.
