Baller slow Posted October 8, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 8, 2020 RIP Eddie - Music to start our set on the river this morning. Eddie’s guitar playing always puts a smile on my face just like waterskiing. Seemed like a genuinely nice guy.
Supporting Member Than_Bogan Posted October 8, 2020 Supporting Member Share Posted October 8, 2020 I'd be lying if I claimed to be a genuine Van Halen fan, but we sure did enjoy shouting MIGHT AS WELL JUMP throughout my career in the high jump and triple jump. With Eddie's recent passing, I tried to introduce some of the jumpers I coach to that song. The video may literally be the most 80's thing ever made! Baller vtmecheng Posted October 8, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 8, 2020 I've read conflicting reports on if he was a nice guy but there's no questioning his talent. I was a huge VH fan in the 80's and early 90's so it's definitely sad and I may have played a few albums these past few days.
Baller MichaelWiebe Posted October 8, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 8, 2020 RIP Eddie. We skied to Van Halen in WI this morning too. Great music and great memories. Thanks for starting this thread. Nice.
Baller LanceHCook Posted October 8, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 8, 2020 2020 has been a major shit sandwich for sure. To people my age, (early 50's) Van Halen was for sure a big part of the soundtrack to my adolescence. If there's anything positive, it's that there is a new AC/DC song which sounds just like every other AC/DC song. And in 2020, I'm pretty damn cool with that. Baller jeblanc Posted October 9, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2020 I saw him play at the Gorge Amphitheater back in the nineties. It's an amazing venue, right on the Columbia River, which appropriately enough is the river I learned to slalom ski on. He'll be missed.
Baller wawaskr Posted October 9, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2020 Saw Van Halen in 1982 - Diver Down Tour - 9th row! Ears rang for 4 days after that! VH Rocks! RIP Eddie

Baller ToddL Posted October 9, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2020 Front row, right in front of Eddie. 1986 Shreveport. Opening night of 5150 tour. Amazing how he never seemed to put any effort in and never missed a note.
Baller BlueSki Posted October 9, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2020 I stuck a USB stick with music in my boat years ago and it hasn’t moved. Eruption is one of the first songs, but I screwed up, it should have been first.
Baller customski Posted October 9, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2020 Rip Eddie. Always been keen on VH too. We don’t play music in the boat often but tomorrow sounds a good time to start.

Baller foxriverat Posted October 10, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 10, 2020 Saw them back up Black Sabbath in 1978 before they were well known. We said damn can this guy play guitar.
Baller 6balls Posted October 10, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 10, 2020 Self-titled Van Halen and 1984. Two of the best rock albums start to finish of all time. Back in Black, Led Zeppelin 2 and 4. Aerosmith Toys in the Attic. I'm avoiding newer genre for this I grew up in grunge as well. To keep on topic for @horton how about that Kidder Hammer, the EP Stiletto, the KD7000, the Jobe 1600...but I digress. Eddie VH was on another level with some of the best of all time. Baller vtmecheng Posted October 10, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 10, 2020 @Horton posted a video about beer, I think we're good here. Just listened to VH II again, it's been a looooong time. Solid rock right there. Crazy talent!
