Do you listen to podcasts specifically about water skiing?

Yes but I have them weeded out and know which ones will be worth listening to. There are a few “legends in their own minds” that blow lots of air.

Yes only complaint would be I really don't like having to use a podcast app to listen to them.

 

Even the ball of spray stuff I prefer to just go to Youtube to watch them

I've listened to several of them especially Spraymakers. I do wish that most of the podcasts were edited to about an hour. After about an hour my time is just too valuable and I don't bother.

We love Spraymakers. Since we have a long commute to the lake, it's the perfect thing to listen to during the drive prior to skiing.

I too have tried; and if I received a dollar for every time my ears have to parse out ‘you know’, ‘I mean’, and ‘like’ (the worst offender)…I could buy BoS for $x.2 million, enabling Horton to retire. And maybe start my own podcast…on how to give, like, better podcasts…ya know?

I listen to Matteo and Spraymakers. Play them at 1.6x speed and use the Google Podcasts app to "trim silence" and your 1 hour podcast plays in about 25 minutes. You get used to listening at speed after about 5 minutes.

@UWSkier I do this for everything, especially instructional stuff on youtube. Every once and awhile it reverts back to 1x speed and it absolutely sounds like they are speaking in slow motion, because well, they pretty much are.

“Ya know” makes me cringe and it’s used way too much these days, Especially in podcasts. Yeah, I know, you don’t have to ask.

Yeah that's my only complaint about Spraymakers - too much of a casual conversation and not enough of a crafted presentation of information. But the information that is there is so good. I just posted a thought-out suggestion in the Spraymakers latest questions thread.
