EZ slalom course floatation

Ez slalom course.  We think the pvc tubes might be sagging a bit because the boat guide opposite the turn ball tend to float loose while the "inside" boat guide is taught.  If memory serves me correctly, I believe that the tubes have some foam inside to help it float and the foam can get water logged over time.  We have thought about injecting great stuff or cutting up some pool noodles and sliding them in the tube. Does anyone have suggestions?

Maybe just sister on some double capped sections of PVC as floats, maybe 24" long with big zip ties, on the middle section.  Assuming this is in the water semi permanently at least. This is how the floatation is done on the permanent courses.

Use mid arm buoys. Simple - keep arms from sagging and also gives you a mini course for training . I thought EZ courses used them

Either use green novice buoys OR 4' of PVC capped and zip tied directly to your PVC arm. They will work as float and keep arms from sagging. Works well but nothing works better than some novice balls.

Highly recommend adding novice buoys if you’re not using them.  They keep the poles straight and level.

I leave my EZ Slalom course in all summer and had the same problem.  After removing the water logged foam, novice buoys about 13' in from the turn buoy did the trick for me.  I tried capped PVC and was never able to find the right balance.

If you go the movie buoy route but don’t want all of the extra buoys, we just use empty 2L juice jugs on about a 6” rope so they stay way down beneath the water but accomplish the same purpose.

Mini course/ novice buoys don’t add any time to installing and solve the concern of straight arms and also provide a training guide.  Win Win. Simple- do it- done

More bouys on a public lake isn't always a good thing,seems to attract the PWC even more.

In our case we went with 4' of 2''  pvc pipes with caps attach to the main arms.

What @Andre said regarding buoys and public lakes. Every year I change the foam as it’s one less pvc tube to deal with, a bit lazy on my part. Not as solid a solution as the capped pvc

I agree that the novice buoys would work great but for the reasons stated above I don't think we'll be doing that.  @m_pags suggestions for removing the old foam out of the tube?

@fu_man I removed the arms from the boat guide section, took them apart and push the foam out with a piece of conduit.  Not fun but it worked for me.

6 in foam crab trap bouys tied right on the arms work. Might take 2 on each if you don't do mini course surface bouys.
