Why do we need tournament entry paperwork? If the scorer / registrar has the skier in the system with all the needed details why do we keep entry forms? What is the point?

Agreed, especially since we already sign one when we renew our membership each year.  The tournament wavier is specific to each tournament and is required by our insurer.  Seems like that could be written into the annual waiver to cover all tournament sponsors.

when the website is functioning properly, and tournament organizers are using the OLR system, then entry forms, waivers and bios are all electronic and simple.  but some organizers like to control entrants and not pay the fees, so paper forms are still needed.  blame the litigious society that we live in.

thank goodness pens, paper, and cash/checks payments are still viable so tournament can still be going on while the website/data base is compromised these days

With no current live USAWS database for scorers the information on the entry form is helpful. If the scorer for the local event has your information on their local database from prior tournaments they can pull you in, but otherwise they need that information so that it can be input into the computer to later be populated into the final scorebook.
