  1. @Connelly_Skis_Inc you have just made me feel lucky to own a Prophecy. Great service.
  2. My SN had oxidisation all over when I bought it. Deck was bad so I wet-sanded, polish two coats and wax. Came up perfect, now just needs polish once a year with waxing in between as often as you can manage. Sides need decals removed to do properly, I'm a signwriter so was no problem to redo them but I understand it can be a hassle. However the complete rejuvenation project only needs to be done once and the decals will get scrubbed up when you hit them with the buffer if left on, to fiddle around the edges of them will not result in a good finish. Then a light cutters/colour restorer followed by polish and wax. That dark Green will get a little faded so keep up with polish and wax and should stay looking good. Worth the effort up front, the upkeep is much easier.
  3. I just got word from a mate who had a friend take delivery of his Stealth setup a couple of days ago only to have stuffed his ankle on his outgoing EXO's likely on his last set with them - not happy I believe...
  4. Looks like you have a heel problem also @jjr. I'm interested to know how the stealths perform (other than the obvious problem you have). Are you on a Prophecy?
  5. Kids are too little and wife hates big wakes as much as I do. SN 196!!
  6. @shaneh you're probably right, I assumed it was the release. Hard to know when you're in the midst of fall what is hitting what! If that's the case then I guess the only fix is to stop coming off. I haven't had any OTF's, my three or so incidents have been turning balls and the ski skipping out on rollers and catching the front causing a release. All I know is it's pretty painful and they don't heal all that quickly.
  7. Been skiing every day for the last 2 weeks on my new Reflex with R-style. Didn't take too long to get used to and the R-style rear has been a good move also, really like it. I've had three or four releases and had no problems after setting up per Mapple video, though as you can see in the pic, I have a sore shin. I know some use a shin guard to prevent this, I'm wondering whether the Reflex neoprene sock cover works ok or is there a better way to cover the release?? I really don't want to use a shin guard if I can avoid it.
  8. I expect Winter & Neveu to make a real impact on the big guns this coming season, though Nate will still dominate and almost certainly up the WR. Hoping for Joel Howley to step up also. I also predict my skiing will go nowhere....a man has to be honest with himself.
  9. I have a SN so not familiar with the dash setup on the Response, but yes I would think that's the case. The SG gauges only come round 5" or 3.5" (mine). Tacho is constant display on there anyway.
  10. @ozski single line would mean you have Digital Pro I think. An upgrade to SG is worth it plus Z-box if you want it. The SG upgrade with new gauge is around $800 for memory. Add about $500 for Z-box. I got mine from Cassell Marine in Windsor, NSW. Although I didn't get the Z-box. Easy to do yourself.
  11. That horse has bolted, there's no turning the wave makers back as much as we'd like to. This in turn will prevent public courses going in IMO, you simply cannot ski wherever those monstrocities reside.
  12. I think you're right, though I cannot switch back either. I vividly remember the day many years ago I was going through entrance gates and had heel slip, from that day forward the RTP was binned. I have new Reflex arriving in a week or so with R-style. I am hoping this is the perfect solution as it appears in theory to be. So many pros use Reflex front, I wonder how many have attempted the change to R-style rear instead of a kicker? And do any of them have heel slip issues at all? Maybe it's just me...
  13. @horton I'm not sure I quite agree. Here in Oz I would say there are still just as many Blue collars as always, the difference being those are the guys (not all) whose wages have gone way up. They are not generally "skiers", but more just "boaties" who can now afford to buy new Wakesetters and the like, so that money is not going towards clubs to support tournament skiing or club sites. We have a severe lack of public courses in my state of Victoria, barely a handful. Joining a club is really the only way to go, but even those are few and FAR between plus they are all on public water and at a cost of around $500 yearly, it can be expensive when you add on the fuel cost to get there, ski ride cost etc. It really is an effort to get your skiing to a decent level and requires commitment. Building a private manmade would almost be impossible, unless on a farm or similar where one individual bears the whole cost, anywhere in this state. I cannot image having manmade lake communities available, not even a dream I could bring myself to have.
  14. Had to sell my old boat to purchase our first house, then went without for 5 or 6 years. Joined a club (expensive and 2 hours away) and finally got my first SN 2 years ago after much discussion with my wife. It's a '97 but runs beautifully and I love it. Similar to @skihard, she isn't really into it but supports me and we hope to get our 2 little ones into skiing. Also recently for the first time got a second hand ski rather than new (near new though good price). Add to this new ropes jackets, wetsuits, gloves etc it doesn't come cheap, but I agree with most that it can be done. Hardest part is finding the time and a crew who all want to go at the same time.
  15. I should be able to get the software from my local market for about $20 soon I reckon. Under the table of course.
  16. @murrski doing this yourself is risky. I am a signwriter (in oz) and we do quite a bit of this work. The reason they are expensive to do is the vinyl and laminate are very costly, as is the skilled labour required to design it, print it and apply it. I would happily design and print for anybody, but don't look at me if you have warranty issues you want sorted out after the application by somebody unfamiliar with this kind of work. Supply only is expensive enough, risking that cost on a dodgy install is not worth it IMO. Also we would only warranty a wrap for 3 years or so. They are not paint, nor are they gelcoat, therefore sunfade can be an issue as much as rubbing and scratching even taking into account topgrade UV laminate. I understand cost is paramount for most, but if you want a Nautique 200 or new Prostar, you gotta pay for it. Same with good quality wraps.
  17. Yes all these problems relate to IOS 7. It is optimised for new iphones and iPad air & mini. Keyboard lag is a particular pain on older (6 months) equipment. All of us in this HUGE waterski community should band together and get off their product. Aaaahhh, the options of android.
  18. I cannot imagine a GOOD reason why it takes so long, plenty of ordinary ones.
  19. At your height you may consider a 66, though your weight leans to a 67.
  20. @simonm I've recently moved to a Prophecy, magnificent straight off first set. Felt so good on my offside, I'm hoping for good things this season in Oz on this ski.
  21. I had a neck injury at the end of last season and have been seeing a chiro ever since, strangely he recommends NOT stretching beforehand but simply warming up. He seems to think stretching can encourage the muscles to be used to a degree they shouldn't be and thus ending up with a tear or strain. I'm very dubious about this advise but certainly warming up by any means to get blood flowing is beneficial. Stretching after, is the go, according to Mr Chiro.
  22. $21-$23k I think. Don't try for high $20's like some others have been, it will sit for months and you will be stuck with it. I have seen some ridiculous asking prices for similar years, depends how long you are prepared to carry it for.
  23. @tru-jack I don't have z-box but my Version 8 SG allows max 3 courses to be saved. I would think z-box is no different.
  24. How many times did Nate run 41 this year? That's my reason.
  25. @horton, assumptions is all we have since he is a mystery man. Would be good to know what's going on over at Connelly, as discussed in another post I read they are pretty poor with their promotional activity. The website advertises a 2012 model Prophecy, the shop has the 2013 and Joel Howley is still not part of 'the team' even though he is a part of 'the team'. BTW I just got a '13 Prophecy and am testing this weekend based on yours and others recommendations, can't wait.
