  1. I have some Radar skis I'm not currently skiing but wanted to set them up for family/guests. Does anyone have any feather frame stuff they are looking to sell. Just thought I would check before I buy anything new. looking for Front Vector XL (10-14)ARTP
  2. I'm guessing it's not the ski, but an HO CX Superlite comes to mind (if you could actually find one)
  3. @NewStarts - I'm 6' 225 currently. For the sake of 'being real' - I've been anywhere from 200-240 over the last 3 years. You are definitely not too big. I got my neighbor who was around 280 at the time up on 2 skis. Don't feel bad, we all have had some struggles - I nailed over 300 deep water starts this year on 1 ski but in past years that was NOT the case. It just comes down to technique. If you can't get your knees to your chest then let the skis come into the body as the boat takes off. You are going to feel like you are being pulled up over the skis a bit, you actually want that feeling as opposed to the skis pushing away from you. And ask your driver for a really gentle pull. There is a really good video that April Coble put out that explains things to beginners rooting for you!
  4. I've never experienced this but have taught plenty of people to ski on 2 - I always tell them to set your arms around your knees at the elbow. Never pull your arms in and you can stay in the squat position as long as you want! Once new skiers see that they are going straight down the lake they can just stand straight up. In your picture you are starting with too much weight back - if you get your arms like I mentioned you will come right up. Oh and you look like a bigger fella like me so make sure you are on at least a 67" set of combo skis - you did not mention the skis. Silly point but we keep 63" and 67" sets in the boat when I bring new people.
  5. Radar Union. I like the Vector Boa binding alot on my ski.
  6. if you are worried about weight I would say the 150 Merc or Yamaha is plenty. Gonna be a ton quieter than the current engine.
  7. Not sure what boot you have but I have a Radar Boa and I tighten my feet pretty tight but the top part i just do it lightly snug and like others said I can kick off the ski at the end of a set. I had 1OTF this year and I came right out.
  8. I would pick what you can afford. We have two 2018 prostars on our lake and the wake is primo but not super affordable for the average boater. The 01 era Sport Nautique would be fine if it’s a direct drive. I would not recommend the 214. That is rough to ski at anything under 30 mph and would discourage your kids. I have several friends with them. The 200v would be better than the 214 I’m pretty sure. But I would also take a look at 99-04 Sunsetter LXI (I have one) or a Response LXI.
  9. @BugHunter - which Stealth gloves - Amara or Kevlar?
  10. really cute video. love all my radar skis
  11. @C5Quest I will check out glove liners. @ski6jones I believe pain is just from the callouses - I filed them a little last week. Are these callouses too big?
  12. @FSSPCat - superficial in the callouses - i did sand them down.
  13. @swbca thanks I'll check those out  - i think my gloves are toast - a few fingers ripped out yesterday. I wear size Large. Does that translate?
  14. I've skied a lot this year and all of the sudden this last few weeks my hands will hurt around my palms (but only the 2nd set an hour later) I tried a larger handle last night and it didn't help so I'm guessing it's my gloves. Quick fix for me skiing tomorrow?
  15. Must have been a fluke. Radar is a great company and I knew they would help. I have 3 of there skis and 2 sets of gloves that the moment. While I used another brand for handles I would definitely use their vapor handle - my buddy has one this season and it has a nice tacky grip when I've used it and has 100's of passes on it.
  16. My neighbor started this year on a 2022 Vapor Pro and he was able to run passes at 30 MPH no problem.
  17. Great price and great ski. Agree that the ski is older than 4 years but should be fine.
  18. Put bindings back to stock and put more weight on your front foot. I had an HO ski that I had to be more conscious of that vs my Radar skis. It takes a few rides to know where to stand on a new ski.
  19. My Sunsetter LXI has a great slalom wake - 90% as good as the best of them, but if it has the wedge it will throw a decent wakeboard wake. Will not surf (not that I care) My friend has a Response LXI with a wedge it's great too - just a little easier to take a wake over the bow.
  20. the Hovercraft is suited for 20 mph and under - get's weird at higher speeds. I would highly suggest a Radar Session - i have one in my collection.
  21. I live 40 mins from this boat if anyone wants eyes on it. I know this dealership too.
